First off, this video is great. Why suddenly do you think the videos have gotten better? Its almost like they Games Workshop just hired someone who knows how to get around a video editor this week. I love the introduction to this one. Great Job again GW, and thank you.

Now the Apocalypse Collectors edition looks awesome. It is only 1500 copies worldwide, and if its not already sold out, its probably getting very close. "Get on it".

Here is the link you need to go check this out.

Also included on the page is a video for the Gamer Edition as well. A very cool case that can hold just about every tank you need it to.

  1. So, you've been asked to present a product for your company in a video that will be placed on the main website and broadcast via the internet across the globe and you can't be bothered to dress professionally? Nice.

    1. I don't think it would look right if he was wearing a suit. This is a laid back game with plastic soldiers and dice, not srs bsns.

    2. heh no kidding. i want that gamer case!
anyone wanna trade for 6th edition collectors edition book?

    3. What exactly is wrong with what he's wearing?

He's clean and tidy, not wearing anything outlandish or scruffy.

I really can't see your point at all to be honest.

  2. ok, but being really serious and very conscious do you really think is worth 250$us (without shippment)? i mean i know of good grade non-pro airsoft guns fully costumized cheaper than this, is it as we say here GW offering cats and selling rabbits, on the other hands gamers edition case is really nice. but also very pricey, i wonder how much of profit marge does gw really wins, normally for a product is bout 50%, but think here is closer to 75%-100% if not more, but that is all speculation. i know i know if u cant paid don't cimplain....but i think is really the issue here, are we gonna take this abuse forever, can GW do reasonable prices in long term it attract more ppl, any let me hear your thought's.

    1. concerning the gamers edition, it's just a plastic case and a book for 200€. Production cost for the case are like 15€ max ? And for the book about 10€ ? That's a profit margin of 700%

      Delete
    2. no... 100% margin is NORMAL
you must be liveing on the moon to think all the cards and printing and shippment costs more than 10 bucks in the makeing. prob even less... its a pure bragging product

The GW products are always apocalyptic overpriced (and their "clones" are really cheap).

    4. Right... because they don't pay writers, or maintain stores, warehouses, and DC's, or have programmers and off-site servers, or pay vendors, or have a maintenance crew for the manufacturing equipment, or buy raw materials (the prices of which are skyrocketing), or pay for parcel, or pay R&D teams, or pay to keep the lights on, or have a marketing campaign, or pay to keep leaks from getting out per the request of Tolkien Enterprises, or packaging, or legal teams, or a financial department, or a call center, or save and budget for future projects, or have to clear a profit to keep the doors open...

The internet message boards are the most narrow-minded group in the world. Not just with gaming, but in every venue.

They see plastic. Plastic costs $A per ounce. They see model kit. It costs $A x 10 to buy. They fail to think or use logic beyond their own inability to manage money, instead giving in to groupthink, and cry murder.

    5. @ mcdoogle
why is it that the 4 sprue dakkajet kit is 21,-€ less than the 2 sprue darktalon?
      does less plastic cost more????

you have to let people hate on GW greed... its part of the hobby ;)

  3. Personally, i don't think either of the limited edition items are overpriced... And yes, i did get a collectors (plus templates/dice etc). I put this into context of other 'hobbies' that other people have... Like i said to my friends last night, how much does it cost to attend the Glastonbury Music festival this weekend (in the UK).... £300 for a weekend ticket (includes camping permit)... And that doesn't cover travel there, food, drinks etc etc etc....
I buy the collectors efition of my favourite version of 40k... And i keep it for LIFE

compared to that, think it's a bargain!

    1. you mean till next ED
its not going to be very compatible with the next 40k ED (like before) and its not even sure if this is playable or if it needs houserules like the old apoc did

i dont agree to youre comparison to going to a concert. The diffrence is nobody in the real world cares about toysoldiers nore thinks 200,- is a fair price for some paper cards, BUT if you saw a celab on stage people do kinda care about that and it does give you bragging rights.
Not even the nerds care about youre GW Limited stuff. It would be better to spend the money on a titan instead.

    2. i was just talking about the case in this subject, but is it normal for a company to overprice this much? i guess the main problem is the board of direction it is perceived that if the company doesn't grow by a margen, it is ill or in bad shape so this thinking each year we mus grow by 15% or else we are bad, is proved in the increment of products so is the buyer that suffers. they dont realize.
      1) in immediately terms, this has drove off many older players
      2) in long terms it relies in the new buyer to keep buying this stuff, but dont realize the overprice discourage many of them.
3)other miniature companies are taking over the market, by either offering low-cost miniatures of much high quality ones, in many opportunities both of them.
my guess is that they should change they strategy in the next 5 years in order to continue to make a profitable market.

  4. shame
the Apocalypse Collectors ED doesnt contain the Apoc rulebook -_-
    nore the templates needed
    FAIL GW!!!

    1. Warlord... The rulebook is the green hardback book, which is just the rules... All the fluff is in the other bound books.
I admit that the templates arn't included, but that is hardly a 'fail'

      Delete
    2. the mini green book? LOL :D
so they just splitt the content around and priced it up

and yes you NEED the templates... its kind of the most important part... so not haveing a delux version on the box at that price is pretty fail IMO

    3. Original post will forever be in my "Warlord22 Logic Failure Memories." You really thought it didn't have the rules? Really?

  6. As someone who is usually a sucker for collector's editions and bought all the limited codices so far, I am grateful I don't care about Apocalypse, because I might have dropped all the money ever on both a collector's edition AND the gamer's edition. And I am still considering the gamer's edition, on account of that case being dead sexy (if likely uncomfortable).
