The first trailer for the second installment of "The Hobbit" is live today. Of course it will be a winter hit, and inside the trailer is a glimpse of Smaug himself. So check it out, I know I will go and watch this at the theatres when it hits.

  2. Ashamed to say it, but I haven't seen the first part yet.

When I heard they took the book and made 3 movies out of it, I couldn't believe it. That's a lot of downtime there...

If they made 3 movies out of 3 books that were longer than the Hobbit - milking a cow much?

Of course, I still haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet either but did make time for the Evil Dead remake :)

    1. Actually, they made 3 movies out of 6 books. ;)

Of course, I like what they've been doing. Generally, some of the biggest let-downs of book-to-movie productions is that thy don't do justice to great scenes, thy cut out big chunks, and otherwise rush through the story. I would say that the reason they've fit 1 book into three movies, is because they've actually included the entire book, without rushing. My opinion, of course.

    2. The difference is, lotr was relatively low budget given the scope of the project. The Hobbit faced no such limitations. 3 films isn't excessive because there's easily 9 hours of content in The Hobbit.

    5. The Hobbit films also have a subplot drawn from Tolkein's background fluff for Middle Earth so that probably helped stretch it from two films to three (two was the original plan).

Iron Man 2 was unfortunately used as hype for the Avengers because the first was so popular, people were bound to watch it. Have you seen Iron Man 3 yet Warlord22? I actually thought it was very good, much better than Star Trek: Into Darkness. Terrible film... *ducks for cover from incoming flakk*
