Warriors of Chaos and Chaos Deamon Releases

So assuming of course that we get Chaos Space Marines here at the end of this month/ beginning of October, what is in store for the rest of the year? Well we all saw earlier that Hastings had a list of codices and army books that were looking like they were all going to be released before years end, and it looked something like this......

2012 release schedule according to Hastings.
Chaos Space Marines
Warriors of Chaos
Dark Angels
Chaos Deamons/ Daemons of Chaos

So it was time to do a little more digging and find out what my sources could say, and what I could post up regarding this seemingly too tight of release schedule. Here is what I was able to find out regarding both Warriors of Chaos and Chaos Daemons......

via Faeit 212 (a Must Remain Anonymous Source)
Chaos Daemons and Warriors of Chaos are done in many ways except printed due to storage limitations for hard copies and them being unnecessary to be produced yet.

    2. 1st and 100th? Nicely done, Jaydee.
Unnecessary to be printed yet? I think this means we won't see them until 2013, as they don't need to be produced this early for distribution then. It would leave copies lying around for a few months = leaks = crap hits the fan in GW.

    4. JayDee I commend you on your dedication to posting on this site.

You are an inspiration to us all.

Now I have to get back to work.

I hope they hold off on releasing WOC I'm near broke as soon as they release CSM's.

Depending on the big release for November I may have to look into selling a kidney to raise more funds.

    5. Pfttttt, ignore the anonymous haters. Super hard core to be able to post without saying who you are. Once the Squats are out, I'm having them hunt all the haters down. Well, maybe not. I looked it up, and the technology to make plastic toys hunt down people is a little far off. But one day.

I hope thry release a gungan army! Jar Jar Binks fighting the Swarmlord? Hellz yeah!

    7. Reading your comment a second time, it looks like that just happened. You really brought Jarjar into this conversation.

    8. And you thought *I* was 12 years old...
Although count me in on the idea of a gungan army. Just so I can see which is more inept: Jar Jar Binks or Abaddon? ;D

    9. Jar jar. Only because he has arms! Also those blue orbs they use could count as haywire grenades! 0.o

I think i shall write Codex: Gungans!

I'd love to see squats again... those were the good old days. Well there goes my kidneys.

Yeah I really need to setup an account.

Natfka keep up the good work, I love coming to this site.

JayDee keep up the quick posting.

  4. I imagine printing takes a month to month in a half so it might go into print next month for November....

    Just guessing tho....

    1. Printing is a days work
      Assuming they have Files ready

But i dont understand this rumor... It makes more sence to say what they have ready, than what they dont.
Basiclly this rumor says nothing at all

    2. I think it means that they've got a butt-ton of other Codices printed and ready to ship, and they need to get those out before they can print any more. Because GW has 'slowed down' the release schedule, it wouldn't surprise me if they've got a large number of hardback codices/army books ready to roll that are taking up all their inventory.

  5. Printing hardbacks on the kind of scale GW operates on leads me to believe it's probably going to be a couple of months to three months until it's ready to be shipped.

  7. People keep thinking of their old (ie: 2+ years ago) release style where they wait months and months between major releases.

Because of the Chapterhouse lawsuit, this won't be the case. GW will be getting an entire line all but finished (some will be old models repackaged as a temporary holdover), so no 3rd party companies can piggy back on their products anymore. They will release everything for a codex in a very short time, and worry about updating old models later where possible. This way every unit entry is physically represented and they own the IP.

CSM will be fully released by October 20. A few days later, Warriors and Dark Angels will be previewed, and both will be out in-full before Christmas.

This is a different GW. Their release schedule has been packed for over 12 months now; they have made White Dwarf relevant again. Don't expect them to release things so slowly, or adhere to the "nothing in December" guideline anymore.

    3. You're kidding right? When did the last codex get released, Necrons at the beginning of the year? The only other thing was Empire, and that release was minor compared to the scale of other 40k releases.

If they had released Chaos Marines in August like they should have, I might believe you, but here we are now waiting till October for the first 40k Codex of 6th edition, and the first book period in months. Their idea of 'major release' is a splash wave of Daemons or a starter set.

We're down to two months after October, and I'd be AMAZED if they managed to fit in Warriors of Chaos into the November timeslot, and I'd hand over all my mancards (of which I have 6) if they actually fit in Dark Angels into the year of 2012, with the Hobbit releasing in December.

      It's simply not happening.

Chaos Marines will take up the full month of October, with all sorts of hype and advertising and battle reports, and Warriors of Chaos will take up the whole month of November, if they're released this year, and the Hobbit will take up the whole month of December, which leaves Dark Angels MAYBE for January, if we're lucky.

    4. Well played, DrBored.

I for one will forget all about any other releases once I get this codex in hands.

I have been through three CSM books. This upcoming release makes me more excited than I've ever been in 40k.

I hope they do Thousand Sons proud this time for once.

    5. That sounded a little selfish. I hope this book gives something to EVERYONE..

.........and a Mastery Level 4 Ahriman to me!

    6. Regarding release schedule I doubt we will see the Hobbit being released this year. At most we will be seeing some previews in January's WD at the end of december.

Since the movie is going to be released somewhere near mid December I don't think GW will preview them in WD december, due to violation of their contract between the filmstudio.

Chances are fair we will be seeing DA his year. As far as I can assume it should be something like his:

      October: CSM
      November: WoC
December: DA, end of december (preview Hobbit)

There has been mentioned November will see a big release which I surely can fit WoC into that month. Though it has been rumoured the WoC armybook hasn't been printed, I yet see them doing it before the deadline if they intend to release it in November.

  9. Kirby and Wells have promised their share holders big sales due to the hobbit and have increased the company's share price a fair amount just on this promise. I would not be surprised to see the release schedule this year being particularly jam packed to ensure their promise is kept as I can imagine that Kirby and Wells are more than a little concerned that the Hobbit will not be as successful as the Lotr was 0 years ago.

I mean how else are they going to maximise their own personal wealth when they jump ship in a few years and sell all their shares leaving GW high and dry.
