Horus Heresy Book 1: Interview and Images from the Book

This morning we have an interview with Alan Bligh. It shows images from the book, the cover artwork, and discusses exactly what is covered in it. Definitely a must see.

The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal
More details are emerging about this hotly-anticipated book.
The Horus Heresy Book I: Betrayal will be on sale for the very first time, in limited numbers, at Games Day UK on Sunday 23rd September.
Lavishly decorated, this book is leather-bound with inlaid metal detailing and foil-blocked page edging, and also features metal cleats to the corners of the book’s casing impressed with the Imperial Aquila.

It is a stand-alone supplement for Warhammer 40,000 and contains a vast array of colour profiles, maps and artwork. Also included is a full Space Marine Legion army list and background, histories, character profiles and special rules for the Death Guard, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Emperor’s Children Legions.

  2. I guess our earlier rumors on the book being called Betrayal was correct.

  3. Was that a new marine jetbike pic?

    1. Yes indeed! Looks very different from the schematic in the new Brotherhood of the Storm book (which is identical to Sammael's bike).

Perhaps an 'attack bike' variant? It looks like a heavy bolter on the front.

  4. I may finally do a vanilla marine army, pre heresy ultramarines FTW.

  5. Fellblade, Cataphract Terminators, Jetbike, Vox Officer Marine :) but we will must use a Legion of the Book I, or at least is what I read in that page.

  6. Pre-heresy tactical dreadnought armour, jetbikes, MK I LR modifications... My wallet is crying in horror of upcoming suffering.

    1. I know! Looks like cataphract-pattern terminators. I thought FW were going to leave it at tartaros pattern terminators. Pleasantly surprised!

    1. If the rumours are true and we are indeed getting Primarch models, I'm sure they'll keep them under wraps a bit longer.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them unveiled at Games Day next weekend. I'm going to be so broke by the time I leave there. :(

    2. Pause at 1.50 and there's a column to the far right stating that there is an appendix showing rules for special characters *including* Primarchs.

    3. if you look at the images of the rules, you see the mention of the primarchs

    2. I don't really care if I get names I just want to know what happened to them, the curiosity has killed me for so long

    3. im reading the first heretic atm and lorgar and magnus speak about the two names that cann't be uttered and how they were brothers so i guess they were found but im the same as you i wanna know what happened to em

    4. For me its a schroodingers cat sort of thing. As long as we don't look in the box the contents won't suck.

      Delete
    5. Your reference to Schrödingers Cat is wrong. As long as you don't look in the box the contents are both "suck" and "don't suck".

      Delete
    6. It's been strongly hinted at that the two lost legions suffered some sort of major genetic defect.

      Delete
    7. Like what kind of major defect, we have sanguinis with wings and Magnus with Third eye. I mean I could believe that with the IX primarch but nothing is really said about the II..

  15. doing some slow mo looking at the video. the jet bike has a big ol finger print on its engine. glad I'm not the only one who gets those.

  16. Impressive stuff. I'm not drooling at the mouth like some of you guys are, and in fact I probably won't be buying any of this stuff. I'm a Chaos Space Marines guy at heart. A bunch of non-spikey marines fighting it out in the mud really doesn't excite me.

If, as they progress forward, we find more Chaos-warped models and wargear and armor, then I'll start wetting myself.

    1. It's just a rumour, so don't hit me if it's false, but rumour has it that eventually there will be the daemon primarchs Angron, Mortarion, Fulgrim and Magnus. Not sure about the other traitor Primarchs.

      Delete
    2. It would be a bit strange to have them as daemons already, as they wouldn't have ascended to daemonhood until after the Heresy.

  19. I hope people won't mind if I proxy the regular troops of the HH legions using standard GW marine models as it will take too long to be able to afford all the models from Forge World. I want to be able to play this side of the 41st Millennium!

    1. yeah no one's gonna care if your useing marines with mark 6 and 7 armor. and anyone who does isn't worth playing with anyway
