It looks like its starting. The Tau Hammerhead Gunship is no longer available on the GW website. I did not know that this model was being replaced, but now it looks like it is at least getting a rebox.

Here is the link for those curious. I did a quick look around and did not see any other models that were no longer available (codex either), although I do not think they can be ordered now.

Thanks to Christopher for pointing this out.

    1. If that was all they were doing to it then it would still be up. I'm guess is the might be adding a new sprue to the kit which would require them to release a whole new box for it.

    3. Could just be pulling it since all the Hammerhead pieces are in the Skyray box

    1. All of the things that separate a Devilfish from a Hammerhead are on a separate sprue.

    3. @ Mauler & Uriah - Skyray includes the bits for a Hammerhead but not vice versa, and they're sold at the same price.

    4. I am aware of this, but if they're binning the Hammerhead then they'll have to redo the box art for the Sky Ray at least and that's still got it's normal page up. No change to the art, no change to the description.

  4. They're probably relabeling it as a dual-kit since it has been for quite some time now.

  5. Paired with skyray box and price increase. Good thing I already have three of these.

  6. Makes a lot of sense since you basically get a Devilfish/Hammerhead/Skyray with just a Skyray kit.

    1. Spot on. I could never understand why you would ever buy a Hammerhead kit as the Skyray cost the same amount of money and had more bits in it. including all of the parts you need to build a hammerhead.

Granted there was only one turret which made switching from skyray to hammerhead awkward.

  7. It's also worth noting that the Hammerhead Weapons bitz kit is still available.

  12. I bet they're just ditching the box and replacing it with a Hammerhead/Skyray box cause same price but the skyray gets the hammerhead bits too

    1. it already does... no reason EVER to just buy a hammerhead when you get the same plus skyray bits for the same price when you buy a skyray

    2. That's what i mean, whenever i see someone buying a hammerhead i stop them and tell them to buy a skyray, no reason to even consider not buying it

  16. I remember a rumor from a while back that the hammerhead and skyray were going to be a dual kit. they are probably just trying to sell a few more skyray's before the new release

    1. If you had gotten a Sky Ray, you were always able to make a HH, SR or DF. The Sky Ray had all the sprues while the HH was missing the SR sprue. Sky Rays and Broadsides were all I had brought for the extra bits, even if I had made a DF from the SR or a Crisis Suit from the Broadside

    2. i forgot about that lol. it's been so long since i've bought tau models i'd completely forgotten that. i guess they could just rename the skyray box. great way to save money on packaging

    3. CCCP, They did that forever ago... where were you? It was when they switched all the other Tau stuff to finecast that they pulled the Broadside box set and started offering just the (finecast) upgrade kit... Silly people. The new Broadside suit looks totally awesome though.
