  1. Really curious about the new Necron bomber, and the chariot conversion pictured on the book cover.

Here's hoping the rules are "m'eh" so my wallet can survive.

  2. Kind of hoping for some new non "converted" units myself. It seemed all of the recent Necron releases were made up of previous kits rather than being wholly unique. -GrimDesign

    1. The anthrocites are original, and pretty cool IMO

  3. The model on the cover isn't a chariot upgrade

It's the tesseract ark, there is an article about its design in the back of the WD

  4. Very cool. Will break the bank but luckily I can afford too!

  5. Super disappointed in the Sentry Pylon. Is that really the front half of a Doomsday Cannon? Why not recycle the bigger Pylon's weapon mount design instead of haphazardly sticking guns on there?

  6. Was the old pylon that small too? I always had the impression it was bigger...

  7. The pylon is huge, and still available. This is a smaller variant, which can be armed with the choice of the 3 biggest weapons in the necron arsenal or its standard weapon which I will take an educated guess, is somewhere between the heavy gauss cannon and the main weapon on the pylon in strength

Speaking of the pylon, I really hope it's rules haven't changed for its gauss flayer array like the monolith did, it's awesome as it is! ( EACH enemy unit within 18" takes D6 S4 AP5 gauss hits)

  8. @Birmingham 117th Regiment.

The pylon's rules already got changed. They were updated in IA: Aeronautica.

    Quick summary:

    - Same points cost, rules and stats except it has the new Living Metal rule, not the old awesome one from the previous Codex edition (although it does completely ignore 'Immobilised' results on the chart which is good because otherwise it would lose extra hull points every time thats rolled because it starts immobilised).

    - The main gun can still fire in two modes
    R:120" S:D AP:2, Heavy 3, Skyfire, Interceptor.
    -or-
    R:18" S:6 AP:3, Heavy 2D6.

So you get twice as many much stronger shots against a single unit, but no more blanket killing an area.

    1. Are those shots still gauss? Sounds ok I guess..

So it's still got the "I arrive where I want and you have to move" deep strike rule?

  9. the mini pylon looks cool. Sadly the deathray is a little short ranged so I dunno how usefull that one will be unless they increase the starting point range.

    3. Aye, but it'd seem daft having to glue all those ball-jointed legs only for them to be useless.
