  1. It's better than what I thought it was going to be, so excited, just not thrilled about the $50 price tag.

    1. $83 here in Aussie land :P

I really like this art and I hope the new dex contains lots of original artwork too!

I still think it would have been nice to have a super detailed fire warrior as the cover though :P

    2. $50 for a hardback rulebook isn't too horrible. I mean, yes it's high, but at least we're not Oz. $83? I'd be writing my own...

    3. That's just the kind of thinking that keeps GW in the black...

    4. My heart goes out to our friends down under. It is cheaper for you all to buy FW models than mainstream GW kits and book. It is a very nice codex cover though...

    5. $98 in NZ, just saying... and yeah even with shipping buying FW battlesuits is now around $10 cheaper, and buying the GW kits from FW is up to $40 cheaper

    6. Do you recall the discusión about prices and the calculations (using differents income from countries)in wich an Australian and an English needs between 3-4 hours on work to obtain a tactical squad while an Spanish (yes, inside european unión, of course) needs almost SEVEN??

    7. Do you recall that we provided enough economic evidence to prove that claim BS?

because if you don't I can bring up the data again that shows that we have a drastically higher CPI.

Not to mention show that the numbers your evaluation is relying on is the "minimum wage" and any intelligent person knows that a higher minimum wage does not mean that every salary is higher by an equivalent amount.

  6. I love the cover.. I just hope that they kept John Blanche as far away from the inside artwork as possible.

    1. Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of his work. The artwork in the Chaos Space Marine, and Dark Angels codexes (codi?) were incredible though, and all the covers have been the best I've seen.

    2. Looks like the Tau are getting a little bit more grimdark?? :-)

    Yaaaaaaays!

I'm gonna read the entire codex in an angry Japanese voice. Especially when reading the rules to my opponent.

  9. I think Games Workshop has done an excellent job with each codex cover. They are amazing pieces of art... each one.

    1. I agree Natfka, GW have done a great job, they have brilliant artists and John Blanche!

    2. That reads like an insult toward John Blanche. I'm sure it wasn't intended, but I found it hilarious.

    3. Well put it this way. If I ever had the misfortune of seeing another of that gentleman's scribbles again it will be too soon.

    4. Natfka, no word on if they are doing a collector's edition of the codex? I do not remember seeing anything in the price list previously posted.

    5. Oh come on, Raynold Swanland is the artist of 6th ed covers, he is the one who should be getting all the praise :) His art is super dynamic and fresh

    1. It pretty much is. Commander model has different posed legs, but otherwise, yeah.

  12. Let this be the herald to the destruction of all other races, your only warning: Join the Tau Empire or Perish.
We shall all now recreate our army commanders in honor of this image, so that all will know the face of their destiny.

  13. Woooo I am SO HAPPY - tau are reborn and once more I can rule in the name of the greater good. After all that I have to say the front covet in my opinion is the BEST ONE YET.

I have to calm myself down..

    1. Ok, the commander in XV8 armor looks pretty awesome. It's too bad the regular XV8s didn't get the same update.

    2. Just realized, that big photo looks like he's leading a squad of 4 crisis suits? I wonder if that's an indication of squad size getting bumped, or just for artistic effect?

    3. the bomber's "bomb production" device looks pretty cool :)

    4. I'm... actually not sure how I feel about this one. I loved all the other models first time I saw them (yes, even the flyers), but this one... I can't decide, it's not terrible, but something seems a bit odd about it. The hands, maybe? And it seems kinda stretched, like it's too long/big. I dunno, need to see it in person.

    5. So it looks like it has options for some new experimental weaponry, which is to be expected. Sadly, this means my current commander model will be retired (what should I do with him!?). The WD article shows the cyclic ion blaster, and a 'dispersion charge launcher.' Wheres my AFP?

      Delete
    6. I don't suppose anyone has seen those pages from an English copy of WD?

  15. The broadsides look *huge* compared to the firewarriors, I didn't realize they were getting that big.

  16. Wonder if there will be a special edition version like the Daemons and Dark Angels releases.

  17. To think ... The photographer was THIS *presses index finger and thumb together for theatrical effect* close to the new rules. I'm getting the sh'akes just thinking about it.
