We have been waiting to see what the cover art is going to be, and get a chance to see it. It's always a big deal when it hits, and Tau will be no different. While this morning we are not getting a look at it..... at least not yet, we are getting a description of the artwork.
Please remember that like always, information before a release are always considered rumors, so add in a little salt.

The new cover is of a Crisis suit. The suit is posed with one leg on a boulder, whilst shooting a target to the suit's right with a fusion blaster.

Sounds like the cover of the old battle force
ReplyDeleteI'm pumped. The new codex covers have all been incredible.
ReplyDeleteThe new books in general are amazingly produced, the art and covers are some of the best they've ever done and the overall quality justifies the high price...Just needs more fluff, but I say that about everything.
ReplyDeleteA bit of proof reading wouldn't go amiss but I'm inclined to agree.
DeleteYeah I agree with both points. They sure look amazing. But two pages of printouts to fix all the mistakes is uncool. Proof read!
DeleteThe Art is for the Most (apart from 2 pics) all Old stuff with a Splash of paint. Its Not like they put in work or Money for that.
DeleteThe Cover Art has gotten much better.
But the Proof Reading has gotten worse. And its Not like they are changeing much Text of the Old dex. A few Point costs Here & there and a Hand Full of New Units. Old Units so far have Hardly changed rules.
The Hardcover and the Cover Art are the only Real improvments & they are chargeing for that. Would be much nicer if i didnt' Need 2 extra Pages of FAQs with the dex.
Really? I was expecting the cover to have a fire warrior on the cover because all the other covers had troop choices on the cover. This still sounds pretty cool none the less.
ReplyDeleteWell the Dark Angels cover has a company Master on it. Seeing as only HQ choices can use iron halos.
Deleteoh yeah. thank you pointing that out, I didn't realize it.
DeleteYou could argue that the daemon codex has a herald on the front judging by the bling/armour as opposed to being a nekkid daemon :P
Delete100 Dollars says that it's also done by Raymond Swanland (like the last 3).
ReplyDeleteOnly Swanland can paint truly grimdark.
By the Greater Good I hope it is him.
DeleteThat image for this post looks suspiciously like the imperial command image that includes lord general lord commissar etc that's in the guard codex
ReplyDeletePretty sure that's from either the first tau codex or the Eye of Terror campaign
DeleteCurrent codex page 23
DeleteMedusa v campaign I'm pretty sure- and honestly u miss this style of artwork vs the new action movie poster ones but hey.
ReplyDeleteI hope it has a blue sky. I always love blue skies in Tau artwork!
