The Ultramarines at one time were found at every game store, and to be honest, I miss them. They are very rare to see around anymore, but there are some big Ultramarine armies out there. Its just now that Dark Angels are the latest marine codex and were in the starter set, it is a fact that Dark Angels are the new GW poster boys. So taking a look back at the only marine chapter to get their own movie.... Ultramarines are the these for this week's Pics of the Week.

I am expanding upon how I do the Pics of the Week for long time readers, and include models done in the theme of the pics. Perhaps some inspiration will come of it. Artists of course are in the pic file name for credit.

Pics of the Week happen every Tuesday where I share from my Warhammer pic library. I collect these all the time from all over, and sharing them is just fun.

Ultramarines
The Ultramarines are considered one of the strongest and most honoured of all the Space Marine Chapters in the Imperium of Man, and were responsible for almost single-handedly holding the Imperium together after the Horus Heresy. Highly disciplined and courageous warriors, the Ultramarines have remained true to the teachings of their Primarch Roboute Guilliman for 10,000 standard years. The Ultramarines were originally the XIII Space Marine Legion before the reforms that initiated the Second Founding and reshaped the Imperium after the Heresy on the orders of Guilliman himself.

  1. I'm a pretty hard core xenos and chaos player, but I sure love having an enemy this cool to hate.

  3. What is the reason that Ultramarines showed are always 2º Company? What happen with the 4º Company and Uriel Ventris?
I've got a Ultramarine army of 3º Company (red shoulder are more cooler than golden).

    1. C:SM is crawling with 2nd company? It's got a double page spread of the entire 2nd company and a feature on Sicarius's special medals and awards... Must've been Matt Wards most favourite!

  5. I don't mind UM, but every time I try to read a UM book, I get bored to tears with how 2 dimensional they are...

  7. I love my Ultramarines. Themed around 1st Company. I have more points than I care to count. But it does include at least 50 Terminators (so Lord Calgar can have his terminator retinue for Apoc games.) Veterans in the role of troops. And a destinct lack of fast attack. Tigurius has 10 converted DA Veterans as his body gaurd. Many tanks. and just a few Scouts

  8. Thanks for keeping the descriptions to the long standing canon. For a minute I was dreading the words "all chapters can be them, but they can never be Ultramarines".
