No rumors this time, as it looks very real. No pics yet, but be ready for them. (I am sure GW wont let me keep them up long, so watch carefully.

  2. Dislike the lack of Greaters but new Khorne herald and Khorne chariot are good to see.

    1. Yeah, looks like I should go back to deal hunting on a 3rd party model for my 'Thirster. Boo Hiss!

    2. There's supposed to be a second model wave closer to august, isn't there?

  3. No greater daemons? :(
3 plague drones to a box sounds odd, I thought they were deceptively big... Maybe an altered design to differentiate from forgeworld? A more fly-like design may have caused confusion with this unit and rumours of nurgle fly jetbikes

    1. Just thought: at gamesday UK there were some green sculpts for 40k, one of which was a large blood letter (most likely a herald) holding a severed Space Marine head. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to have the option of an arm with a fantasy themed head too.
Point being, although these were written off as 'test sculpts', there were (from memory) also a Dark Angel banner bearer of sorts, the possible herald and a few more interesting choices that tie in with rumoured future releases: an eldar avatar, a blood axe Ork warboss (and grot assistant, an eldar warlock, possibly an ethereal and MOST interestingly (if this is more than a huge rant by now!) a genestealer cult magus...
I'll have to dig those photos out again and study them for more clues...

    2. I'm guessing this is the nurgle fly jetbike thing, but on some level I deeply hope its a blight drone. I have 2 and the FW rules are pretty mediocre. 125 points for a 12/11/10 flyer with BS 2 and 2 hull points, and none of the daemon engine rules that make the heldrake unkillable. It has a mawcannon as its primary weapon, so if you're in template range great, but otherwise you're relying on a large blast with BS 2 or a twin linked autocannon (the 36" reaper version). Color me unimpressed with the stat line, I felt slightly better when they had 2 hull points.

So, here's hoping the new thing is better!

    2. Are they the same powers as before, or new demons-only powers? I was hoping to use the same psychic cards...

    3. Looks like new daemon ones to me.

    4. Sleeves? Daemons can't wear sleeves, the get soaked in the BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD. Do you know how expensive dry cleaning is in the warp?

  5. Loving the sound of those plague drones. I was expecting a FMC type thing but 3 smaller versions sounds just as good. They better be worth it rules wise though!

    1. I imagine they will be comparible in size to Bloodcrusher. My Khorne/ Nugle armys keep getting better!

    2. As long as they aren't comparable in price...

  6. Ok, so far we got 3 plastics and 3 resin models. You think there might be more or does it pretty much follow the trend of the previous codex releases?

    1. Meh, I dislike waves. Just release everything at the same time and move onto the next army.

    2. I agree, my wallet does not though.

    3. If they spread it out they have a more even financial report with less spiking, this is generally seen as good.

    4. There wont be a second wave. Look at the last 5-6 current ed. Books. No follow up waves at all.

    6. To be fair we haven't seen a month without a release of some kind since 6th edition, so we don't really know.

      October: CSM
November: Warriors of Chaos, Part One
December: The Hobbit (love it or hate it)
      January: Dark Angels
February: Warriors of Chaos, Part Two
      March: Daemons of Chaos/Chaos Daemons

So, there's not really a precedent yet for how GW will handle having all these books with 100% of their models (more or less) already released. We may see splash releases of new sculpts, we may see more WD updates that add units, we may see nothing. We can't use 5th edition as a precedent here because GW has taken a fundamentally different strategy to releases.

    1. I don't think they will have the mechanical look of the FW ones. Then again it is possible if the soul grinder is anything to go by.

  11. Going by latest WoC to estimate prices. Heralds around £15 mark. Drones £35. Tzeentch and khorne dualkits around the £35 mark.

  15. I'm already thinking about next months release ha, i think it will be that flyer wave, followed by high elves or taa, exciting times!

  16. How come fantasy book is only 96 pages? That feels very small.

  17. So, what we've realized is all the haters who said the rumored release schedule was way too fast and that GW wouldn't do a new book/system/WD update every month. Well, we've got 6 months of evidence that that's in fact exactly what they will do. Maybe GW is listening!

    1. They certainly are trying aren't they! Two years ago, I would have told you that GWS is the worst company ever. Now I won't make excuses for all the fuck ups they are still making, but there are multiple things they used to be horrible at that now they are doing well.

    2. They kinda had to with the chapter house issue and the growing increase in quality competitors saturating the market. Not sure the motive was to do it for their customers but hell, I pray they get laughed out of court regularly if it makes them pull their finger out.

    3. we have been talking about a fast and furious release schedule now since the very onset of 6th edition, and how that was the plan of GW. It all looks very true atm.

    4. Sales will determine if they keep releasing at this pace.
