Death From the Skies has just arrived, and already Games Workshop has put out an errata for the new supplement. If thats not trying to keep up on it, than I don't know what is. Here is the relevant information that is in it regarding Grey Knight Stormravens.

  1. It,s not new: new GW printed rules have a lot of erratas and they are overpriced (low cuality, high price).

    4. If you're going to make typos, at least add in letters for extra value

    5. It's pretty obvious by looking at his name/profile that English probably isn't his native language.

    7. Yes, some of us aren't native, at least we try to do the effort to be understood in a foreign language, GW doesn't do the effort of correcting their books BEFOREselling them. The OP thinks this is quick response... my opinion is this is madness and lack of planification, how is it possible to have erratas two-three days after selling the book??? come on, they did have the erratas already done, but of course as they already had the wrong book printed, instead of giving us a ready and good book, they give us crap that in two months will have TONS of modifications, just like everything else.

  2. Yeah, while it's better than nothing I really would have preferred it if they had just not made this mistake in the first place.

    1. This. I mean they obviously knew about the mistakes be for it was released. Since the first run is sold out already I hope these mistakes will be fixed in the future runs.

    2. What? Quality editing BEFORE printing?

      Quick! Somebody shoot this heretic!!!

    3. Let's not forget the lulz that ensued when everyone noticed the first paragraph for Company Master fluff in the Dark Angels Codex was copy pasted from Vampire Counts.

    4. What I wonder is, how did the book make it to the printers without ANYONE noticing a flyer WAS IN THE WRONG FORCE ORG SLOT. This is as bad as the Helbrute being 5 points more expensive in the english version as anyone else's or the FAQ that made CSM Daemon Princes with wings Jump MC's in english but not in any other language. SMDH.

  3. Any word on if the SM Stormraven is any different from the BA version other than renaming the missiles? Same slot/rules/points?

    1. The missiles are AP2, and Concussive, that's the only difference.

    2. What about the Rules for the BT Raven? Any differences?

    3. Given the Rule Book errata directs them to take the same one as the C:SM vehicle, as Templars use the Space Marine section of the vehicle reference chart, I'd assume they're exactly the same.

    4. Don't have the book myself (at least not yet), I just stumbled across some Digital Codex screen shots of the updated C:SM.

    5. I've just downloaded an update for my iPad C:SM. No updated rules for storm talon, or new entry for storm raven. If it won't be included at a later date, I'm pretty disgusted to be honest.

    6. LOL Jagged, why should you get rules for free and not loyalist Marines?

      Delete
    7. In fact, GW promised that the digital rulebook will always be updated with the rules for free. Since Death from the Skies is sold out and they for some reason didn't list it on the iBooks store, seems like a major slap in the face to people who paid MORE than the physical codex for a digital edition.

    8. Hmm just saw the screen caps of the ST updates from the digital book, looks like it is getting updated :D

    9. Can you post a link Ian? I'm on the UK iTunes store, I didn't see any updates last night.

  4. Its one thing to make a typo. Its another thing entirely to get a unit in the wrong FOC slot our get a rule wrong, etc. I would excuse typos, but not incorrect rules. i feel like the author is also the editor and that I'd a bad practice.

    1. Exactly - how hard is it to ask "what armies have a Stormraven now and do our new rules cover those armies?"

  5. So this whole book doesn't really make sense to me anymore. English only, except the errata now point you towards it rather than the White Dwarf or other sources for these vehicles, and it definitely changes things.

The Stormtalon had it's base points and the points of all it's options changed, lost Hover Strike and gained strafing run, all of which you can already see without DftS if you have the digital C:SM, which all basically means without the copy of the rules from DftS in some form...but how does this work for non-english speaking players? It's a codex change, so presumably it's supposed to apply to everyone? Hrm...

    1. Can you detail the Stormtalon changes? The fact that there isn't points changes in the new Errata for the SM book is really concerning to me. Now I won't have a f*****g clue whether the person I'm playing against is using the right rules, just like daemons all over again

    2. Base cost is now 110. Skyhammers are 15, twin las 30 and typhoon 35. It lost hover strike(unless I missed something, the images are digital C:SM and the formatting of those things seems a bit odd) and gained strafing run, keeps escort and all its other stuff.

      Delete
    3. I might have the skyhammer point cost off, I just remember it's the cheapest one now and the las and missile prices are right, it's not right in front of me. And the errata didn't need to list points, it instead specifically directs you to ignore the White Dwarf and only refer to DftS. The point values from WD are null and void

    4. Thanks! Looks like I have another 40 points to spend for my dual ST list, lol.

  6. hey none noticed ... foot page "Warhammer 40000 : DARK ANGELS eheheheh

  7. Did they change the points or options to any other flyers?

  8. So, yet another situation in which they either did a rush job or simply FAILed to employee people who actually care about the quality of their work. Publishing an errata before anyone actually gets the book in their hand is a sure sign that they have things a bit backward. Hey GW: You do Quality Control and Review before you release to production.
