There have been reports that product numbers for the Chaos Daemon codex/army book are out there, and that the a dual release is now inevitable. However, at this time, (and I have been looking pretty hard this morning), I can only find people that are saying product numbers for the Chaos Daemons release are out there without being able to locate where. Perhaps I am missing the object right in front of my face (we people are very good at this at times).

So if anyone has the location of these mysterious product codes, or knows something else, Im sure the community at large would appreciate it.

  1. If this codex does come out, I hope it does not cause too many problems for my nurgle themed list for the Adepticon Team event.

    1. AdeptiCon is where I fear for people the most; there are going to be a lot of Daemons players attending ... all the ones who enjoyed the codex before the WD release, and the MANY meta/powergamers who built Tzeentchmon lists in reaction to it. I have a fear they're all about to get really upset (not that the codex will be bad, but that they'll make you have to change everything due to points and FOC adjustments).

    2. Our lists were geared around nurgle marked CSM contributing / using the tally man's buffs. I do agree with you Mike, there will probably be a bunch of upset kiddies who can no longer WTFBBQ the softer players. Those type of people are why I enjoy playing in the 40k friendly event. Playing against you in the first round of the friendly event last year way a lot of fun. Hope to see you around this year.

    3. I'm planning on creating a dual CSM/Daemons Nurgle themed army myself.

And I wonder if a strong daemon presence will make GKs stronger this year...

    4. My 5 biggest predictions for the new book..

      1. Loss of EW as all Daemons move to use the universal daemon rule.
      2. Epi's tally being nerfed heavily if still in at all.
      3. Beasts of Nurgle finally worth taking.
      4. Big changes to how icons and daemonic assault work.
      5. Upgradable Champions for units. The Changling becoming a special pysker champion for Horrors.

    5. Demons using psychic powers rather then exclusively demon gifts (though demon gifts will still exist as upgrades or standard powers for compatibility with dark excommunication.)
I am expecting the same psychic lores from Marines to be in the book.

I am also expecting the 'demon of X' thing to replace what we consider marks in the demon codex. I expect S&P & Shrouded to be standard for Nurgel, Rerolling saves of '1' for tzeench and so on. Looking forward to +3 inches on Fleet for my Demonettes.

    6. I bet Cloud of Flies has changed to now give the shrouded rule.

  2. I hate to say it but if the release makes it so that an army that was optimal before is no longer optimal, tough cookies. That's the risk you take when you assemble an entire army based on the efficiency of a certain combination or set of units. I have zero problem with anybody building an army that way, but if a new codex comes out odds are that it will no longer be the best build... that's wargames.

  3. why would daemons need to roll psychic tests and risk a perils of the warp? They ARE the perils of the warp. Making them test would be complete doodoo!

  4. Because they would have to now 6th demands armies to. They might get bonus's towards it (Tzeentch option maybe?), but then any bonus might add a nerf to something else and I'd much rather risk perils than having something else more important nerfed all to hell. Yes new dex paranoia is setting in nicely..

  5. Just call it "Daemonic Instability", they will disappear from the material universe if they fail the PotW roll (multi-wound Daemons obviously straining with effort to keep themselves therein, thus losing part of their power ie. wounds).
