A new Apocalypse book is apparently in the works and will bring everything up on par with 6th edition. This rumor set has a release date somewhere around June/July. It looks like its going to be a busy summer around these parts.

Please remember that these are rumors.

  1. I think it makes a lot of sense for them to move Apoc. to Forgeworld.

    1. Yes, it is. Apocalypse it was designed to use a big army with one or two landships or others war engineers. The worst thing is that FW produce some "normal" vehicles for the normal game but there isn't a very firm about that legality in the normal game.

    2. we have extremely firm information about forgeworld's legality ins a normal game. They put a big 40k approved stamp right on em.

    3. This. FW stuff is 100%, it's some players that cause the problem.

    4. That is because they rely on GW confirmation only and don't believe FW have any say. It doesn't help that players have been crying out for GW themselves to confirm it also finally but for some reason they have yet to do so... Idiocy I know but that is 40k sometimes.

    5. Well, it's certainly not idiocy and you undermine almost all event organisers by saying that. It's "40k official" in the same way Cities of Death is - yes, it's designed for 40k, but it's very much an expansion. Tournament legality is called into question because even GW themselves don't allow Forge World at any tournaments they run at Warhammer World. They allow use of Forge World for count-as and campaigns only - not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Of course, if it's a friendly game then there really should be no problem.

    6. Why?

They moved FW stuff to GW plastic! So why does it make sence to move Apoc to FW only?

    7. I think the problem isn't players, it's that GW themselves won't allow people to take 40k-approved FW units to their Throne of Skulls tournaments.

    8. Who said anything about Forge World??? Natfka didn't. "Jo" didn't. Only "A" above brought up FW, and now you're all bitching that this is going to be a FW book. It isnt! It's going to be a GW 40K Expansion, just like the last Apoc was.

      Jeez, you people!...

      :-(

    12. In case anyone gets confused, I'm not the source "Jon". Apparently there's more than one of us out there... Or are there if it's a false name? I digress...

  2. Ooh, now this is interesting. Are you going to start giving your inbox sources code names? That would be pretty cool and help sort out the good from the bad.

    1. Terrible idea. GW could purposely give out seeded information and mole out who is giving what, based on what code names they see pop up based on patterns.

  3. Is this an Imperial Armour Apocalypse, or a new core Apocalypse book? I had heard that there might be a new supplemental from GW this summer, and was speculating that it would be a new core Apocalypse book.

  4. Okay, with the next apocalypse book we'll see everywhere flyers formations... -.-"

    1. And I guess there will be new Flak vehicles and formations.

    2. Flyers are always better than anti-flyers.

  5. This is fine and all, but I really wish that GW or Forgeworld would release some sort of subset campaign that focused on really small skirmish forces. I guess that goes against financial imperatives, etc, etc, but I would by that sort of book in 2 seconds.

    1. Well here's a fanmade expansion for 250point games. It isn't GW official, but it sure is a ton of fun:

You can download the rules on the left column under "Flaming Downloads".

    2. That small skirmish game looks like its what I have been asking for for a long time and everyone (who really does not know) always says that Necromunda is the Mordheim of 40k... but its crap(in my opinion). This seems awesome... just its not updated to 6th. But I guess I will do it my self... I like the changes to to turn style and combat... thanks cpyke

  6. Never been much a fan of Apocalypse, I must admit, so this leaves me fairly cold.
Whenever I feel like a grander battle, I just bust out my old Epic stuff. Landtrains all the way, baby!

  7. Was excited for this until it mentioned Forgeworld. The entire state of Michigan has a mindset against Forgeworld. No established gaming centers here will hold or sponsor Forgeworld based events or even allow their inclusion. That means any chance of a large scale event held at a gaming center is out. Some gaming stores have explained this as, why support a product they are not allowed to sell?

Of course I could always just get together some friends and run it myself... but at that rate why buy the book at all? Nope... just another lost sales opportunity on the part of GW to chalk up with Crusade of Fire and Aeronautica.

    1. I wish people could sell their stuff. I don't buy it now just because I don't want to add the shipping costs from Europe to an already expensive model.

    2. I just re-read & re-read again Natfka's post, and it says nothing about Forge World. Where are you getting that this is going to be a FW book, Harley???

    3. The original post said "New GW/Forgeworld Apocalypse book", the edited doesn't.

    4. I never understood the complaints about forgeworld shipping!?

"Forge World charge an additional 12% of the order value for shipping and handling within the UK or 15% of the order value for shipping and handling to any international destination."

You pay 3% extra compared to someone living in the UK, that's $6 on a $200 order..

  8. Why does that picture look like my Imperial Guard army list? The other three cannon are obviously off the page...
