Pics of the New SM Librarian Terminator and Interogator Chaplain

There are a couple pics that may interest quite a few people, and that is of the new Space Marine Librarian Terminator and the Dark Angels Interrogator Chaplain. Both of these come from Warhammer Visions, and gives us a chance to see the models close up.

Here is a link to both pictures. The Librarian is due for pre-orders this week, and its rather easy to speculate that the Interrogator Chaplain will be just around the corner.

    1. Me too. That i chaplain is awesome. He'll look great with all my other chaplains. Now if they give us a chaplain formation...

    2. Some of the wild pre-6th rumours claimed Dark Angels would have access to Chaplains as an elites choice of one to three independent models.

  3. the librarian looks suspicioulsy like the Blood Angels one....

    1. exact same pose with a bare head, only differences are a few cosmetics such as the addition of the cape, lack of BA symbols, and slightly different anatomy

    2. they're both basicly plastic versions of the old finecast one

    3. I think the current one is a beautiful model that doesn't need updated. What is needed is a wolf priest in terminator armour and a normal one.

  4. The body is cool. The face looks odd being covered that much.

  5. I really want to put a skull in the empty hand of the Librarian. "Alas poor...".

    1. Too soon.

My commander for my Iron Hands is going to do that with a Servo-Skull.

    1. Yep but Natfka NEEDS those clicks....

    2. Yeah, because as an architect, the 0.01 cents he gets when you click on an advert really helps out with buying his new Ferrari.

      Delete
    3. Lol. Architects don't get paid that much at all.

    4. Same pics but these are from visions therefore not conversions that is the difference Jackass! Why you gotta hate?

    5. Name your cliche; Mother held him too much or not enough, last picked at kickball, late night sneaky uncle, whatever.

    1. it will be my second chappy to apostle out of my 8 dark apostles (yes i like dark apostles and word bearers, 6 remaining dark apostles are/were made from imperial/chaos kits)

  9. That Interrogator Chaplain is perfect - moody, subtle, packed with detail, but still the painter's dream. Lately these models have had details that really lend themselves to the Citadel paint range; especially for beginners.

    1. Agreed, and I must have one!

    2. Definitely prefer the Chaplain to the Librarian. Will lose that smoke though.

    3. His weapon load-out seems vaguely redundant. A crozius arcanum & a power fist... you only need one or the other.

      Delete
    4. Nice to have options in combat?

      Delete
    5. I don't get why people keep saying this! Say you go up against Space Marines allied with Guard or AdMech. Having those two weapons means you ignore the saves of everything in both of those armies and have flexibility in whether or not you strike at initiative. Not a bad loadout by any means!

Also, I'm totally with McDoogle here (!!!). The new Clampacks are horrifyingly expensive BUT they're absolutely lovely to paint with a perfect mix of flat areas and detail that make them great beginner models.

  10. The sculptor of the Librarian must have been a big fan of Booker T :)

  11. I hope this new termie libbie isn't going to be a replacement for the current terminator librarian with the staff, because the latter is the superior model.

    1. the older one will probably only be around as long as stocks last, same as with the death jester and shadowseer when they got replaced.

    2. Luckily i bought 2 finecast libs a few months back when i saw the new photos.. converted one into a Grey Knight Lib with the GK shoulders and a soul glaive in one hand and the other holding the severed demon head from the strike squad kit.. came out rather nice.. the other is still in the clam.. not sure how i want to paint/model it.. perhaps purchase the new one and kitbash the both of em, depending on what we get for bits on the plastic, i haven't seen the sprues yet :'(

  12. These poses really aren't great. The minis look generally-- I dunno, over-produced? Like they're trying too hard to make a SM that looks like a SM, instead of just making a SM.

  13. After some browsing on the GW website, I realized that Azrael is still metal... Someone give that man a plastic model!

    1. they musta overstocked him long ago, or just very few sales of him are being made. i would've expected him to have made the move to finecast long ago

      Delete
    2. Jes Goodwins models are timeless!

The scale might be out a bit now though

      Delete
    3. Indeed the metal Azrael is on of the more splendid models that came out of that era but a new LOW mppk for him like Logans kit would be fantastic

      Delete
    4. Not just the scale, the overall design too :( He looks less "grand and epic" than a basic tactical marine sergeant these days.

I'm hoping the new Int. Chappy is easily convertable for Azrael - he's even got a very similar pose - replacing the power fist arm with a combi plasma, and giving him that big winged sword from the Dark Angels upgrade sprue.

Haven't decided whether to put the dark vengeance captain helmet on him or give him a bare head and put the helmet elsewhere.

Then cut off the smoke on his backpack and replace with a big Azrael banner.

But it all depends on how editable the Int. Chappy is

      Delete
    5. Just use the Dark Vengeance Captain! I gave him the banner from the Finecast Company Master and it makes a great Azzy!

      Delete
    6. I've done the same xD, but meh - the Dark Vengeance captain looks too much like a regular captain for me haha. Not grand enough for the chapter master. Doesnt match up to Calgar, Logan etc

      Delete
    7. I getcha man, but it was that or have a teeny Supreme Grand Master from the 90s =P

      Delete
    8. Between the vet box, the old upgrade sprue and the new upgrade sprue you should be able to make a fantastic Azrael and a Cypher no prob

      Delete
    9. ^ or anyone/thing else. the bits avail = any named character can be made with some tweaks with the avail MPPKS.

  14. I think the Chaplain will look even better if he is painted up to resemble the photo accompanying this post - the cream robe with green trim instead of the reverse. The contrast against the chaplain helmet will be better. Can't wait to pick one up.

  15. Don't much like the whole librarian.....

.....but like the Blood Angels one, pieces of the librarian will make good conversion pieces.

Though not a Dark Angels fan, I am getting excited about what was rumoured to be after them.....

    Plastic Lord of Change!
The wait for leaked images is almost over. Unless the rumour was bogus. I for one hope for the former.

    1. 20th - Interrogator + DA codex

      27th - LoC + Tzeentch codex

      4th - Age of Sigmar

wouldn't that be great? 3 weeks of new rules stuff (assuming this sigmar launch starts off with rules in some form) may be a bit much though. still, remove the tzeentch dex and have the LoC as a solo release, eh?

    2. What is great is that I'd like to collect a Tzeentch Daemon army. If Fantasy gets round bases (unlikely but just go with it) then I'll have one army for two games. If Fantasy disappoints, I'll just have to return to 40K with the army I want.

Either way, the best thing is I'll have an all plastic army. It'll be the first monogod force that has no finecast models....unless I get the Herald and/or banners.

      Delete
    3. Its already confirmed, and i mentioned it last year, round bases are an option for fantasy.. you can base your models however you like, the old restrictions for both 40k and fantasy are done away with, you should base with whatever is provided but GW official stance as a "model" company is that u can base your minis however you like

      Delete
    4. i want to mount my 40k armies on square bases.....kinda like a homage to units without bases of the early-mid 90's used square bases.....(i have hundreds if not 1000's of squares i never used, and not a whole lot of rounds.....idk i lose them easily)

      Delete
  16. i didn't know there is a new edition of epic... oh it's just one of these new ugly 40k minis...

  17. Sorry but these just look, to quote Talking Heads for a second "Same as it ever was" way too much extraneous crap all over them to give you the ever present done up like a bleeding christmas tree when there is no need for it!

Less is more soldiers even in the distant future should look workman like and fit for purpose and not as if they are out do some boho fashion designer.

Old synic ! Yes, but lets see something new that looks like it was fit for the job ans not aimed at a five year olds mentality were its gotta have everything plastered on it!
