Today there is a huge list of Citadel Finecast Space Marine models being released. Some of these, like the Iron Hands upgrade kit are very cool. Perhaps I havent looked at this kit before, since I believe all these were metal and now being released, but its the first time I have looked closely at some of these models.

For the complete list of what is being released today, (including my favorite techmarine), just follow the link.

  1. It's Crimson fists/Imperial fists upgrade kit. Iron hands don't have one ;)

  2. I saw this late last night on the GW main page and really wanted to post my excitement on some of the Xeon blogs. /sarcasm - I am sooooo excited about more space marine models. I can't believe we have made it this long without new space marines. 6th edition rumors are rampant, so what would progress mean without lots of marines /endsarcasm.

I think what irritated me the most about the new list of 'soon to be released' is that someone at GW felt it was more important to sculpt and sell space marine CASUALTIES...... Before giving some Xeno races replacements for models that have been used since the early 90's.

    3. I suspect more work went into your whining than went into switching metal models to finecast.

    4. How can they sell Mehreen casualties if there aren't any Xenos to wound them?

    5. Sure, heroic guys in bulky power armor are always going to be popular. It's just an appealing motif to a lot people.

  3. For what it's worth, I am okay with rereleasing the old stuff as finecast. He'stan, Candor and the terminator chaplain in particular are still great models, the LotD is a excellent to supply marines with a few unique pieces of armor once the flames are filed off, and conversion sets on the whole are always welcome.

  4. Do you ever get the feeling that GW LOVES sm? And wants you to LOVE them too? Ha! So glad I don't own a single Sm in my collection! That's right GW I have escaped your Matrix an will not conform!

    Not yet.....

    1. It's such an idiotic idea that GW tries to push Space Marines on people. GW makes a lot of SM stuff because people buy a lot of SM stuff. It's simple supply and demand.

    2. But would you buy it if they didn't "push" it on you o.0

  5. Also new FW stuff is up for preorder as of now

  6. Im not a big fan of space marines... but get a life complainers! They did a huge Empire finecast release a month or so back. Just that Space Marines are getting one with out a codex. Which might be a clue to 6th ed? :P

I will say one thing - thank **** the Thunderfire Cannon is out in Finecast.

    1. People are prob'ly just complaining about the over-over saturation of space marines. Last Xenos release was 'Nids, but that was, of course, with some marines. The whole allies rumour just screams: "You want some Marines with your Xenos?"

    2. The last release before that was Necrons. No Marines there.

  7. Guys, it's good that they made this stuff in finecast. Have any of you tried to put together the metal thunderfire cannon? And to all the complainers about marines:
    1) We just had some new Necrons.
    2) Before that we had Tyranids and Space Wolves, who were both in dire need of models.
    3) Before that we had Necrons.
It's been a while since we actually had some vanilla marine models.

    1. I'd actually just finished assembling a metal one a day or two before the leaked list of SM finecast stuff came out at the same time as the Necron release rumors from late april.

They're a damned nightmare of filing and exacto knife work. Particularly all the nice pointing bits on every section of the treads, and the fact that the two halves of the barrel of mine were different sizes...
