    1. ; ( Ah, I was still holding out a little hope of seeing another 40k Dex.

  2. I'm not a WHFB player, so maybe someone can help me with some information here:
Skullcrushers. Are they renamed bloodcrushers or whats going on there? Completely new unit?
Same with Hellstriders. A rework of the boobhorses that maybe foreshadows the changes in the daemon codex?
Or are all this more "human" like units?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. These are probably going to be new units for WoC, similar to what they did with Vampire Counts before their army book was released.

      Delete
    2. Could be actual warriors (human) on daemon mounts

      Delete
    3. The first three entries on the list are all units that either did not exist before or had no kit (Hellshrine). The rest of the list is presumably sculpts that have been redone in finecast.
Based on what I've heard, the Skullcrushers will be Chaos Knights mounted on Juggernauts and the Hellstriders will be Chaos Marauders mounted on Steeds of Slaneesh. The Warshrine should be another very large kit that can be customized for the whole pantheon of Chaos Gods.
The only model I'm not sure about is the Nurgle Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount, but I'm assuming it's what used to be the generic Chaos Lord on DM..simply renamed.

      Delete
    4. It's a robed guy with a scythe on a decayed demonic mount. They've always had him.

      Delete
    5. It's currently called Lord of Nurgle, so.

      Delete
    6. Ok, forgot about that guy..was thinking the guy with the tentacle arm. Thanks

    1. I believe its for Fantasy, since that list is for WoC :P

      Delete
    2. I was wondering the same thing, cause I would love to have more customization in my Abaddon army than the dark vengeance kits!

      Delete
    3. Ok. Im just curious if theres anything for 40k. Any terrain or flyers? :P

      Delete
    4. prob fantasy as you don't get separate command packs for 40k

      Delete
    5. 3 plasti Kits
      Rest is Finecast rereleases
Apart from 2-3 New Finecast Things i belive

      Delete
    6. I though that it's the other way around. Fantasy usually don't have separate command packs, all commands bits are in the core unit boxes. The only command packs I have seen are metal figs clamp pack or customizable character boxes like Empire generals or Empire Wizard.
And the price is absolutely absurd. $45 for a box of 5 models? Are those chosen monstrous cavalry/infantry or what? If not, that price range are more suit for a sneaky 40k release imo.

      Delete
    7. Its all Old Models in Finecast
Go to GW Site & you can See

      Only 3 plasti Kits
      As Standart These days

      Delete
    8. Some of the older metal Fantasy units had the command elements in separate packs. When things get converted to plastic they normally get a command sprew, until then they are separate models.

This is just the regular Special Unit choice, so yes you are paying $45 for 5 models.

    9. As someone who's been using WoC parts for his CSM army over the past few weeks, I don't mind if they're not 40k, I'll make em work, haha.

      Delete
  4. No more 40k until 2013.
January will be Chaos Demons and Dark Angels will be April 2013...
2 years without Imperium (Last codex GK april 2011) and 6 years without DA (codex out march 2007)...

    1. Were did you get that from?
Hastings rumored them Jan & demons later in march... Tau Even later but still Before Summer.

    3. Im always skeptical when i see rumors from an Anonymous....

    4. that is complaining guys, not a rumor.

    5. Yes i was ironical and cynical about GW marketing strategy...

However i was a DA player and was hoping in a xnas codex to start 40k again. I guess i will keep playing warmachine

    7. From look of the rumoured 2013 leaked release dates, Daemons look like the will be coming 2013. If it is in order and true, doesn't look like they will be coming until at least mid 2013

  5. Haha belekors back i see he serves as my 40k demon prince nice and small so easy to hide behind tanks

    1. I use him for my 40K DP as well. Kinda sucks for me that he's Finecast now, as I've already started converting the metal model. :S

  7. Where are the chaos trolls and Throgg? Every army I own that has gotten a new book recently has no plastic updates for the big ugly metal units I have no desire to buy.

    1. or stupidly expenisve resin recasts.

      Delete
    2. LOTR trolls, the armored ones, make great chaos trolls. No scale issues.

      Delete
    3. Just don't try using them in anything GW based. LoTR models can only be used for LoRT due to licensing or something and not allowed in anything else.

      Delete
    4. Never cared for LoTR trolls and I am playing in GW based events. Thus the reason I am mad.

      Delete
    5. Just convert some plastic river trolls....easy

      Delete
    6. @Anon - the licensing thing was reversed quite sometime ago at least up here in the Great White North.

      Delete
    7. In confirmation of what Daximu says, when I was a GW full timer we had the announcement one day that the copyright situation had been renegotiated and that LOTR bits were thus permissible in other kits and other games. I left GW in late 2006, so it's been okay for a fair while.

  8. So, if I understand this wave correctly, it's all finecast version of metal minis, but more expensive, right?
Wasn't finecast supposed to limit the prices?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No it was touted as reducing their costs significantly (while increasing exponentially for us).

Personally I find the prices to these games to be simply out of control!!!

      Delete
    2. And so it did.... Didn't you read the annual Reports? Sales Down but Profit up due to saveing policy.

Prices for GW are Limited and more fixed now.
      Independed of Metal.

For you prices are Ofc Not Limited. :D
But you get better quality or smth :D

      Delete
    3. It ain't going to stop while people are paying the prices which they are. There's only one way to get GW to lower prices and complaining on the internet ain't it. If you have that much of problem with it, best alternative is to choose a cheaper game to play and I don't mean that in the arrogant internet speak way. That really is all you can do else we have to just put up with it.

      Delete
    4. Or of course use proxies, cheaper retailers, scratch built, EBay. Etc I forgot to add sorry. Putting less money into GW pockets is the only thing that might make GW think about their pricing but chances of everyone doing is slim to none... Until of course GW price themselves completely out of business which I can see happening if they keep it up.

      Delete
    5. Mmmmhh NO
People are not buying.... Like i Said "Sails Down" compared to Metal-Times.
Not buying or Buying Less doesnt change anything. If GW makes loses, prices go up.... Thats all!
      Don't be naif.
What els Could they do? Make everything plastic & Hope to sell enough? :D

All we can do is complain. So what?!!

      Delete
    6. People stops buying as much and they put prices up?? I'm not sure even GW are that bad at business. What buisness school did you go to? lol

Saying that, you are right. All we can do is complain but what is point of that exactly when it won't change a thing?

      Delete
    7. Ofc they go up.
In 3ed the Sails went Down
      Did the prices go Down?
      People Start playing warmachines now
Start buying valejo or Respekt paints
The the New paints go Down in Price?
      Quality Sure did :D
      WD wasnt sellin that well
      Now its "New"
      Better? Not really
      Price has gone up? Yes

      GW Biss is like this.
Sales go up! Price Gose up
Sales go Down! Price Goes up more

Trust me every other Company does the Same. Sales are Down ... People get fired, prices go up, Produkt is produced at cheaper quality.

Look at the Australia policy of GW
      They sell Les over there
And prices are higher becaus of that
Instead of lower to Drive Sales

GW does Not See it like you or any rational Person.
They have to catch up on their loses Without selling more or makeing an efford! Pricehike is the only Thing they now.

      Delete
    8. Do they remove part of your brain when you get an MBA or something???

      Delete
    9. A Company thinks diffrently.
Coke would Not sell more if they go Down with the Price. Maybe for a period but then People would go back to their usual buying behavior.
Same Goes for a pricehike. People will BuY Less for a period but then they will go back to their normal ways. Ofc some will stop entirely to purchase anything. So the Company Has to Cut costs or hike the Price in Order to get the Same Profits as Before. Ofc this will lead to further decline in Sails but the hike is so High that it Accounts for that. If Not....hike more next Year.

From a Customer stand Point it makes no sence. For the Company that does Not care how much they sell, but instead how much Profit they make Its perfectly Fine.
If GW Could sell 1mini for 30 Mio they would be Fine with Not selling a singel additional FiG that Year. Caus the Profit Goal would be reached.

As companys keep Setting higher Goals in Profits and Sails dont Grow as fast. The only Way to make those Higher profits is by pricehikes or cost-cutting.
      So the Trend is clear.
Cheaper stuff for higher Price and Workers get Paid less. And Thats why the Economy is in the gutter. Greedy stockholders!

In Real World terms its like...me trying to eat One more Pizza every Dinner. After 30 days i will be Eating 30 Pizzas a Day!
But Company Look at the Day...not the Month!

    10. The only problem is your applying school boy economics to real world. Oh, and the financial reports tell you nothing about sales.

I'm sorry, but I find all this nonsense is getting very annoying.

      Delete
    11. The Point is prices ALWAYS go up.

Thinking buying less makes the prices drop is schoolboy Logic.

How Financial Reports are no Sails indicator is just wish belive. What is then?

      Delete
    12. GW's share price currently sits at double that of some major supermarkets. Their profits were down but mainly due to natural fluctuation. They have a tight business plan, an effective marketing strategy and a justifiable confidence - all of their competitors are contemptibly inferior and only claw by on people's sense of indignance at GW.

I used to work for GW, and I can tell you there are some things about them which are not defensible, to assure you that I'm not simply singing their praises. The pay is poor, the hours are long, the management is tyrannical, you're never told about anything until it's in the store and you have to listen to pathetic gamers droning on about their broken new army list all day. These things can be held against GW.

But trying to argue against the way they do business. Ludicrous.

      I dont like it!

    1. The original Chaos Dragon

    2. Ridiculous looking Chaos Dragon. Or you could spend £220 on the insanely big FW version, which can also be used as Galrauch. Strangely enough, I've only met one person who uses the FW model.

    3. Probably not worth buying then.

Ah well, look forward to seeing the other things.

  13. ehm...army book?
Don't say me it's only a stupid White Dwarf update.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Are there any other game systems out there that do not have the army rules out for every unit included in the starter set?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There are rules for everything in the starter set. The DA ones are just old.

      Delete
  15. So when it says 1 fig box, is that finecast or plastic? Because I realllllly want Be'lakor in plastic.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He'll be resin. He used to be metal and if they were making him in plastic, they'd probably make it a DP box, like Karl Franz/Lord on gryphon/mage on funky gryphon.

  16. I am ok with waiting for the new da dex as long as they make it worth the wait ie truly unique to the dark angels units etc and a new set of models not just recasts but i don't want to put off another Christmas birthday and fathers day to do it

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. well in that case - prepare to be disappointed.

    2. Prob going to be like CSM

      1flyer
1 Mortis dread or Plas pred
      1 Termis or Bikes

Maybe Termis & Bikes in 2nd Wave if any & pred + Mortis initially

Besides that i dont expect anything but Finecast Remakes and maybe 1-2 new sculpts
But Thats unlikely Since you can use the SM range. I Don put Hopes on Samuel or Belial figs

  20. Looks like cultists might be getting a release. At least there is a shot of them in those posted WD pics. I can't tell but it looks like they are built on the DV models but there seems to be new elements.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Seems like what they did with the Seaguard models from Island of Blood, releasing some of the the starter set models on one sprue, mail order only no doubt.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, now that I look at the cultists close, I see no new elements. All of the models in the pic are in the DV box. I think even the same paint job as the ones in the DV adverts, color difference was from loss of clarity in a bad photo of a photo.

      Delete
  21. Also, new variants on the juggernauts that are part of what I am assuming are the Skullcrushers (Khorne warriors on juggernauts). Clearly built on the Bloodcrusher juggernauts but at least one of the heads is new in this kit. Should make good conversion fodder for 40k.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Galrauch. Awesome. Will buy him just because its an awesome model, but the thought of building it in metal scared me off.

  23. No mounted Slaaneshi Lord? D: That's sad news...
