  1. Bundles are the sound way to sell more stock without lowering prices during a downturn. Not surprising but nice to see even GW being aware of this. Too bad for me I prefer smaller bundles instead of these big ones that include units i dont want and im too lazy to ebay them.

    1. They've been bringing out christmas bundles for many years now - it's not something they've only just figured out.

  2. When are they being released?
I may need to expand my SM army for DA when they are released.

  3. Isn't this the same Space Marine bundle as last year, and the year before (I think)??

    1. Switch the Ironclad and Razorback with a Venerable dread and a Landspeeder Storm, respectively, and yep!

    2. To be fair, how much variance can there really be in a vanilla marines bundle? Just saying..

      Delete
    3. True, but Terminators could have worked, even some Assault Marines or a Land Speeder. I think a Storm Talon would be cool, but then you eliminate BA, DA, BT and SW fro the equation.

      Delete
    4. Hope the new DA codex allows for ironclads ; )

  4. Well I must say, these don't excite me, even with the fact I'm starting a SM force in the near future.

  5. Still, 84 euro less than when purchased individually (GW website prices of SM products) is not a bad deal if you want to start an army.

    1. Bear in mind you have to be a little bit insane to pay GW website prices, though.

      Delete
    2. ^Indeed, the only thing worth buying on GW's site are the bitz that only they have... Bastards.

      Delete
    3. Not Even the bitz
Bitzstores and eBay Bittstellers are cheaper better & plastic

Only Bases are cheap with GW
But only if you want more than 25mm

      Delete
    4. Not even bases, Renendra are much cheaper.

  6. Hum... They all seem like good value and a good mix of stuff for a new force (although I'm sure we are going to see LOTS of people complaining about how it is not what they want, so useless).

however, I would have expected them to stick a flier in to the 40k ones...

  7. What the hell is - 1X Extinctors, seriously what muppet wrote this lot? half the units dont make sense!

    ReplyDelete

    1. I can't work that out either! It's driving me insane that no-one is mentioning it as well!

      Delete
    2. Wait, bit of research reveals its the German name for Immortals. Yay!

      Delete
    3. Those are german unit names.
      Immortals = Extinktoren

The "jetbikes" (called Exovenatoren here btw) are the Tomb Blades.
      Geisterbarke = Ghostbark
"Glider = Kommandogleiter = Catacomb command barge
The walker is obviously the triarch stalker and the worriors are typo for warriors.

      Delete
    4. Yeah the necron Bark & glider threw me for a loop.

      Delete
    5. Ugh, I thought Glider is the Scythe plane. Thanks for clearin' it up!

  8. Hmm, has anyone already done the math in terms of money saved by the bundles? In particular the SM one seems fairly cheap for it's contents.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That one saves you about a hundred bucks..... roughly. 80 euros is about a hundred bucks or so, right?

      Delete
  9. I would expect the bundles to be north of $350 here in Australia

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well considering the Aussie value of these boxes is nearly $700, I'd expect the bundles to be around $450ish at least.

      Delete
  10. Why can't they do a "choose 1 model from each FOC slot for $X" deals?

    The bundles are so boring...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I compared it with the cheapest onlineshop I know:

    Necrons save 27€
    Space Marines save 29€

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The onlineshop themselv would offer the bundle cheaper though (if he can get any. Dunno if shops like wayland had some last year).

The contents of the necron box would cost like 285 €.

      Delete
  12. I'm tempted by the necron box btw. Too bad the used the tomb blades instead of wraiths.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well here in the states 200€ equals about $260 and to buy all that stuff individually would be about $355.75 not taking into account shipping or any discounts like a store that i frequent for every $30 you spend you get $5 off but still taking that your still paying over $300 so if all this is true its a good deal :-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Cheapest I calculated it on Wayland would be £157 for the necron bundle delivered. Don't know how that compares to this bundle, but I wish it had been around a year ago as I bought all these things in the same quantity.

    ReplyDelete
  15. landraider without any terminators to pop inside? hmmm... are these going to become just general transports then in a new codex?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well as it stands, they're Heavy Support, so it's not neccesary to have Terminators to cart around - just typical.

      Delete
  16. Big Bundles? Great. I can see why they do them (jimmy likes Space Marines doesn't he?) but releasing smaller bundles of common combinations would have made me more likely to buy them. Rhino + SM/CSM, Devilfish and Pathfinders, Commander/Lord and Terminators, Two/Three Russes, Bikes and Attack Bikes. Shame Gdub don't do that sort of package.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah I would really like that. Or even battle brother sets. Example SM-TAU 1rhino, 1dpod, 2 tac squads with a captain or the like. Standing along side a tau FW squad, dfish and a commander suit would be fantastic. Would have blown my mind. By your small packs you mention would be great for allies supplements. Maybe 2 for each army.

      Delete
  17. It is my opinion that GW missed a nice opp to do allied bundles. Half this half that. For those of us that haven't dipped into the Battle Brothers scene, a allies bundle may have been to much for me to resist.

I have never been suckered into spending money to save money. If I have a coupon to save $2 on a $6 product I don't need and use it just because, I didn't save $2, I lost $4. If I were a ebay-er...I'd go for it.

  18. The necron bundles looks fairly worth it....

    ReplyDelete
  19. There is also a massiv trench set for 100,- & something

Maybe some can Post a link to the pics on warseer or dakkadakka?

    ReplyDelete
  20. So converting euros to GBP these work out at about £160 so not bad but Wayland still cheaper

    ReplyDelete
  21. Each bundle usually saves you about $100 or more, they're the best deal GW does.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Space marines are going for 427.00 Canadian if anyone was interested in our price :) so that's pre tax website prices. If you go to BKG you're looking at 25$ or more in savings. Listing canadian price probably at 399.99. And if they are in local stores it could be as low as 360 in some places!!! Good luck finding one before Christmas if they are cause Jimmie wants 10

    ReplyDelete
  23. So carted up the Marine bundle @ Wayland and it comes in @ £177.71 inc. delivery so if GW do these are £160 (that's the Euro to £ conversion) and they are a pretty good deal.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tempted by the Empire one for sure. Though I HATE the KArl Franz model. Ugly thing.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like the bundles reminds me of the old days it's a shame they don't do it for all armies, I don't mean the bbattalion packs because they tend to be poor but decent kick starter sets as above which provide savings to customers( come on its as close as we get to sale) and it must lower packaging n distribution costs. In other news that trench line is money

    ReplyDelete
  26. expecting extremely stupid overpriced prices... in canada... why is US so much cheaper when canadians have a stronger dollar... fml

    1. Well.....the world just isn´t fair, is it?
