New Blood Angel Tactical Squad, or Not

Information on a new Tactical Squad box came in, and from the this it appears that the new rumored tactical squad may just be new packaging with red marines.

Please remember that these are rumors. Yesterday we had some information from someone saying that they had seen pictures of a new box, and you can find that information here at this link if you missed it. http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/11/new-blood-angels-box-kit-seen-tacticals.html

Yes, just like the landraider was recently, the newest SM tactical squad is just getting reboxed with BA red marines.

Sorry, nothing more. :)

  1. Why? The Tacticals were already 'reboxed' when the new moulds came out... This is just going to confuse new players who go into a store and can't find vanilla Space Marine models because everything will be labelled "Grey Knight" or "Blood Angel"

If anything they should have redone the Assault Marine moulds and reboxed them. Given the army in question, that would have been MUCH more logical, and it would have been an excuse to update Assault Marine models...

    1. just like with the grey knight/vanilla land raider the original tac squad packaging will no doubt remain alongside the new box.

    3. Saw a peak at next weeks WD and it had a listing in new products called Blood Angels Tactical Squad, as well as a Sanguinary Preist and the mephiston red spray is back, new codex as well.

  2. Yep, this makes sense. I mean, seriously? All the bother of producing a new kit for the sake of a Heavy Flamer? Please.

    1. Probably not; DA & SW didn't...

    2. wasn't DA pre introduction of grav weapons? and SW doesn't really follow astares closely so isn't surprising for them.

I don't think the inclusion of new vanilla marine stuff is unlikely for BA. DA probably would have gotten them if they'd been released later.

    3. Wolves got frost weaponry as a sort of new thingy, BA might get leech weaponry :)...most likely though they'll get grav. And so will DA whenever they get a new dex.

    4. Blood angels follow the codex astartes just like regular marines, more closely than black Templars at the very least. Would seem odd for them not to have some fluff-wise, but in terms of crunch...

    5. Well the design team stated that codex development is a 2-year arc, which means that the DA codex was in development at the same time as the SM & SW books, suggesting that the DA & SW books intentionally had grav & the new AA tanks intentionally left out. Presumably this is to give codex Marines something over the divergent chapters which get the funky kit. Based on that I doubt that anyone but Codex Marines will get Cents, grav & the AA armour but hey, I'm not The Bawss.

  6. I think I've seen this tactical squad the guy is talking about, but I didn't think it was big news at the time.
On the back of the newest Dark Eldar painting guide is a picture of Dark Eldar fighting Blood Angels made from the newest tactical squad kit. Can't say I spotted a heavy flamer or grav gun though.
I basically thought it was common sense that all pictures of space marine armies of any chapter would now be done with the newest kits.

  7. Didn't belive it, but as Stickmonkey is always wrong, then this rumour has to be true.

  9. It seems like BA are being left out in the cold
Both space wolves and dark angels got their big updates, feels like nobody is really that bothered about the sons of Sanguinis. Like they just want to push email out quick and get em out of the way so they can move onto something else.

    1. Fair point man, but I'd say that the last time that the BA's gone re-vamped (HA!), they got it much better than the Space Wolves and Dark Angels combined. Consider it that in this edition, the SW's and DA's are actually being brought up to the standard of the stunning BA kits like the Death Company and Sanguinary Guard :)

    2. Space Wolves got love? Bjorn, Skysled, and half a cestus is a big update? I would wager BA get at least 3 kits, and Tac squads aint one I'm personally desperate for. I'm much more concerned with rules this go around...

    3. After stormclaw SW got 2 weeks of kits, then the dex. And another kit afterwards or with the dex, IIRC. This week deathstorm preorders are out, then who knows what they have in mind before the actual BA dex hits. Honestly, with the nid releases and the whole campaign thing, this already feels bigger than what happened with the GK...I do think there'll be some BA kit releases before the dex.

    4. Space wolves got a really cheap (point-wise) nasty Dread with Murderfang.
And a better lance weapon than the Eldar/Dark Eldar get.
It's not as though you lost the ability to give your warlord an invulnerable save (Orks) or Most of your named characters, including the most significant character in the race's "fluff" (Dark Eldar)

    5. BA got their big release back in 5th. Honestly, as far as selection goes, BA aren't really hurting for anything new, they just need point drops across the board...

  11. Blood angels characters seriously need to be revamped. It just feels like all the other first founding chapters SW and DA got their time in the sun and blood angels are being left out in the cold. I keep hearing about this mystery back codex but there's been nothing. Even this new fangled tac squad is just vanilla marines painted red, what's the point in that??

  12. Leaks from the End Times book are up on ulthuan.net and, uh... No likey.

Wood Elves totally sidelined, OP as all hell spells that CAN'T BE DISPELLED and ludicrous fluff that kills off all the cool characters and seems to be Dark Elf fanboyism.

Blech. Glad I never preordered it!

*goes back to playing normal games with my Wood Elves*

  13. Where are the pics of this week's WD?

I need to see this new captain.

  14. This could possibly mean that Blood Angels are getting the Grey Knight treatment with little to nothing in the way of new kits.

    1. beside the captain. then yes i would say this is very likely to be the case. it's because BA range is virtually complete. they have kits unique to them as well.

it'd be a surprise if they made more kits. [but anything is possible, personally i don't see it happening, but i didn't see the secret nid wave either]
