      Pfff
      I have Bretonnians...

    2. ^Like. ^Like. Two years....My poor knights. Considering how the End Times are going, though, my Bretonnians will probably get a model of Giles Le Breton riding a colossus made of peasants that has 12 wounds, 12 attacks, and does 6D6 flaming killing blow impact hits....

    3. Brets definitely deserve an update and while I don't know how they gate in eighth edition, i do know that blood angels were made almost completely irrelevant by sixth edition 40k. If brets have fared similarly, I hope you get some awesome stuff in the end times. The suggestion above is awesome.

    1. The only non "top tier" books in 7th are Dark Angels (though they make a very powerful ally), and CSM's. Though again, they also make a strong ally.

All of the other codices have seen top flight representation at the major tournaments. Hell, a Lictor army won the 11th Company GT. Lictors...

    2. I fought that army and it was no joke. Lost because I made bad decisions. O well still got secound.

  3. One thing that's confusing me and no one seems to be talking about is the 32mm bases for JP infantry shown on the death company. I have plenty of JP guys already on 25mm bases, does this mean I have to rip those off and re-base them??

    1. Most likely, you shouldn't have to. In the past, GW's policy has been that you can play the model on the base that it was purchased with. That's why sometimes you see Terminators on the smaller bases. I hope that their old policy on it will stay in effect because I don't want to have to redo all of my jump infantry, which I have plenty of.

    2. This. Why release something and not explain what it's FOR? Are they optional to help with wobbly high center of gravity models? Are they the new standard size for jump infantry? What are they supposed to go to? I can't watch the video at the moment so I don't know if it's mentioned in there. Can anyone shed some light on this?

    3. Skull Leader,

When I saw the video, Rob Baer said he used digital calipers to make the comparison, but mentioned nothing about the reason for this supposed change. We're still left in the cold unfortunately. Though, I agree with your reasoning that it may be in order to help the model keep balance. Jump pack models are notorious for falling backwards.

I just hope they keep their previous stance of being able to play a model on the base it was bought with just so I don't have to swap out all those bases and deal with the headache.

    4. On Dakka Dakka it's all they're talking about in the BA rumors thread the change in base size. Precedent would say you can use what the model was bought with, but when they changed terminator bases it was with the release of a new kit so there was a clear way to tell if it was sold with the smaller base. Death Company haven't changed so that distinction would be hard to make, you could continue to re-base to the smaller size and say they came that way (for what reason I don't know since bigger seems better to me, go away blast weapons).

But this base size fiasco gives me warm and fuzzy feelings regarding a new box of assault marines with 32mm bases ala the terminators move to 40mm.

    5. Anyone else notice there is also a new smaller oval base that the Broodlord seems to be on?

      Delete
    6. I certainly won't put up any fuss if the new bases are included and will go with them since that is what is provided, following the rule with no issue. I'm just hoping not to have to retrofit my current stuff is all. And I agree with you that the lack of change to the Death Company kit will make it hard to legitimately tell which base it was bought with. We just need to trust in the integrity and honor of our fellow players. And a new assault marine box would be very appreciated. The sculpts are showing their age compared to the new tactical squads and the jump pack mould lines and gaps are just vile.

    7. It's usually good manners to put them on the bigger base. A good trick is to magnetize your current bases to the bigger ones. It's an easy fix.

Tournaments, around here, are pretty adamant you put em on the current base. We had a guy struggle to find bases right before a tournament or get docked major points.

If you go by the rule it is the base they are provided on not were provided on. In all honesty no one will prob care in a friendly game.

    8. Base moneygrab if true.

No reason for this what so ever. Unless you sell bases.
Or Plan to sell Senic Bases soon?
      And want no competition.
Are they going to copyright the 32mm?

This is a really stupid move & Fans wont support this.

    9. Or perhaps its too physically represent models who have got a bulky variants? (E.G. jump marines) A legit new base for your more theatrical models to stand on, such as the warpsmith who hangs over his base in every direction?

Or a new format of base designed solely for people to think what sebs thinking so we can amuse ourselves with silly thoughts. And seb, go check the apple - samsung court case where apple tried to copyright a rounded oblong. This is a most likely thought out move to improve your hobby, and protect your models from base to base scrummage, where you loose your pointy fingers and servo arms.

    10. Lets say it was for big models or jumppack models.
So what do you do if a unit has the option to ditch the jumppack for a Transport. Do Base size stay?
Wont they die faster with bigger bases? Was this needed?

So what els is this instead of a nother way to make money from something stupid. Was 40mm & 25mm & bike size not enough?

All this will do is caus situations were people will say "But normaly the Base would be biggger & it would... "
      No thx!
I Stick coins under jump-infantry , does the trick!

    2. Based on what I just saw in the White Dwarf for the preview they are showing, this is confirmed. I rather like this change as it means a Furioso can have a more versatile role.

    4. If true this really disappoints me, I had come to like that you didn't have AP2 like all other melee dreads but in exchange were much better at dealing with hordes. I'd actually argue it gives the furiouso a narrower role since it limits it's anti-tarpitting role. Before if you wanted to kill high toughness or 2+ armor you took Blood Fists and Blood Talons had a role as anti-horde. Now you just have Blood Talons being a functionally better Blood Fist unless I'm missing something.

RIP DC Dread slicing a 20man squad of boyz in a single turn...

    5. @ Russell I'll miss it too, but I had prescience cast on him and mopped up a 30 boys squad in one assault. It was epic

    6. I agree, the blood talons should stay the same as they are. If this rumour is true then what's happened here is that murderfang trampled all over the furiosos toes, the the furioso apologised and hung up his blood talons which murderfang basically stole

  6. I want the BA to get access to grav and centurions, one or the other preferably both. People complain that codex marines would lose their uniqueness without the exclusive rights to those units, but blood Angels gave up the stormraven, twice. BA having grab/centurions wouldn't diminish codex marines, codex marines still have access to unique relics, special characters and chapter tactics, which I think would justify BA sharing some of their codex cousins wargear, perhaps with price hikes in certain places like weapons mounted on fast BA vehicles.

    1. Codex space marines dont get uniqueness they follow the codex, and all put their helmets on with 3.5 turns to the right, and shine their boots with polish using their left hand, except crimson fists who use the right. (Unique) ^^
