Here is some information on the primaris power for you. Its called Quickening. Its a blessing that effects either the psyker or another character within 12". The target gains fleet, d3 initiative and attacks. Roll once and apply both the result to both initiative and attacks.

  1. Isn't that basically warp speed?

    1. Warp Speed is a falt +3A and +3I cast on the psyker. This appears to be a targeted version of Warp Speed from 6th edition.

  2. That is a good one. WC 1 is nice. I think their Libs and Mephy will be nicely cost adjusted. I think Mephy will go to AP 2 and will get a few of his old powers back.

    1. If Mephy goes to AP2 then don't expect him to keep his high toughness and strength.

      Delete
    2. Why? Mephy has practically been a monstrous creature since last edition nice to have the diversity in BA

      Delete
    3. He's 250 points......what stats should he have?

      Delete
    4. Maybe Mephy should be nerfed. But I am guessing that everyone who thinks he should does not know the fluff behind him. He is more like a primarch right now.

T4, maybe for table top. But he should be played like a Vampire Count or Demon Prince. Even at 250 with his stat line he is over costed. I think he will drop in cost with no stat changes.

    5. Be cool if they just bit the bullet and made him a monstrous creature.

      Delete
    6. Flying Monstrous Creature maybe.

    7. Kaldor Draigo stayed at 250pts with a drop in stats, but they gave him wargear to make up for it. A force sword the S+3 and AP2. Sometimes a change in wargear can make up for a drop in the stat line.

      Delete
    8. Kaldor Draigo isn't basically a primarch, no matter how much warp dust he take, though!

    9. Lol logan is what 250 w/o chariot for the stats of a chapter master with stubborn. By that mephi should be like 400

      Delete
    10. Grimnar has Eternal Warrior and an Invun save. Mephy has neither. Mephy also isn't an IC. If he goes to AP2 (and he should) then he should go up but not by much maybe 280ish similar to Calgar (who's also overcosted as most of these big characters are, 250-260 would make him competitive without being auto include).

      Delete
    11. Recall that when he was last priced, it was 5th Ed and everything was AP2 anyway. I can't see him going up in price if all they do is make him AP2.

      Delete
    12. You pay more for Ap2 in CC these days (particularly going at I). Look at Calgar got a little worse went up in points. So I'd expect him to go up if he gains AP2 also ICs can now join him unlike 5th/6th.

  3. That would be an excellent one for close combat.

    1. "This plasma gun is excellent for shooting!" Lol. Just joshing ya.

    2. Haha "This chain sword is ideal for cutting things" :P

      Delete
    3. "Drop pods are great for landing on planets."

      Delete
    4. "This power armour is fantastic at armouring me!" =P

      Delete
    5. I dunno guys, I think this power is undervalued for its shooting potential.

  4. Really happy to have been wrong on this one and that BAs are getting powers back. That's a lovely power too, fluffy *and* good in-game!

  5. "Hey Dante, guess what, here's a buff to your initiative!!!"

*Dante looks longingly at his f***ing axe and sheds a tear through his death mask*

"ah. Shoot. Well its the thought manifest into reality that counts right bud?"

  6. So warp speed you don't have to roll randomly for

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True. But now instead of guaranteed +3A/I you get fleet (which is useless now) and d3A/I. Personally if I played BA I'd stay with biomancy and take my chances on rolling warp speed

      Delete
    2. Well, this is a Primaris, so they get it automatically instead of rolling for it.

      Delete
    3. Is fleet useless? It's pretty much the only thing my Slaanesh daemons have got going for them!

      Delete
    4. Fleet is not useless, I cannot say how many times I have rolled snake-eyes for my charge distance....

      Delete
    5. Guys, Warp Speed gives Fleet as well. The advantages of this are A) It can be targeted to another character, B) You don't have to roll for it, and C) 1/3 of the time it's just as good as Warp Speed anyway.

      Delete
    6. And Fleet is nowhere near useless, unfortunately an entire unit needs to have it for it to take effect, so casting this on a character on their own is the only time you're going to benefit.

      Delete
    7. Seb that's what i was thinking about fleet. it's cool that that person gets it but he should prob be in a unit which makes the fleet kinda pointless unless it happens to say "unit gets fleet" which, as a necron player, i really don't care if they add that caveat to it, if you're charging me I've already f'd up somewhere anyway.

      Delete
    8. You say that, but as a Blood Angel player I can tell you that the number of times I've had 4 or 5 inch charges fail because your dice suddenly refuse to roll higher than a 2, fleet can be a life-saver.

      Delete
    9. If the other powers are any good you may end up specialising and thus get it for free, being a primaris

      Delete
    10. The thing about this power is that you can cast it on someone else. Warp speed only affects the caster.

Losing the guaranteed +3 for the ability to put it on someone else who can make better use of it? Worth it, even if it is to buff attacks on a power fist sgt

  7. Ah yes, the quickening, I remember an old GK power by that name, though it only gave initiative 10 (May have been the psyker only, can't remember)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ah yes, so it was. I could have sworn there was a quickening psychic power some where, I might have to flip fixing through some books later

      Delete
    2. Blood Angels have had it at least as far back as 3rd.

      Delete
    3. And before 3rd, it was a Space Marine power in the Dark Millenium box

      Delete
  8. Can you feel it, Macleod?!
    It's the Quickening!

  9. The sanguinor I wonder what'll happen to him

  10. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGS

    1. Wings was my bet for Primaris too. They'll have to be careful with it now though, if they make it a randomised power then people can't write their list around it, so they'll give their librarians jump packs to be on the safe side. And then if they *do* roll wings, what bonus can it give? I'm sure it'll be in there, just maybe reworked.

  11. Would it be OP if a squad or blast marker got it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Or the power increase's depending on how many heads, i mean kills, the player takes.

      Delete
    2. It'd be monstrously OP if a squad got +D3 attacks and initiative, as for giving the squad fleet there's a conversation to be had.

      Delete
    3. That said, it would be against the convention set by all the recent psychic powers to have a buff which gives all effects to one model and partial effects to the squad, so I doubt we'll see it.

      Delete
    4. Can you imagine Death Company getting a good roll on that? 7 S5 attacks at I7.

      That'd be *insanity*.

      Delete
    5. ^ *insanity* and death company should be used in the same sentance

      Delete
    6. What do you mean 7? Death company have 5 attacks each on the charge. This'd give them 8 ;).

      Delete
    7. Jesus, yeah... Can you imagine casting this on Lemartes!?!

      Delete
    8. I dunno, if I can spam Invisibility and other Telepathy powers, I guess I can't get too butthurt over Blood Angels being better World Eaters than World Eaters. They still have to roll 6s.

      Delete
  12. Think Daemons might be the unexpected ally. You can put that in your pipe Natkfa and make what you will of it

    ReplyDelete
  13. Put this on a Furioso librarian for close combat fun.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Quickening has always been an option for Furioso Librarians. Only ever given attacks but that's the main bonus anyway.

      Delete
  14. Sanguinary Guard and Deathcompany are no longer available in the webstore... New Kits on the way? Or maybe just a rerelease with the new basesize??

    ReplyDelete
  15. I hope the other powers are better, otherwise you may as well just stick to Biomancy.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Quickening used to be +D3 attacks on the psyker. This is a pretty big improvement over that, so I wouldn't worry too much.

      Delete
    2. Also I very strongly suspect mephiston will be locked to the BA powers as a way to balance him - at the moment with biomancy powers he's ludicrously broken. If I were a betting man I'd posit that he'll be level 4 and know the entire BA power set.

  16. The Swarmlord is insane with jealousy over Mephy's new primaris.
