A Fourth Secret Message Unveiled

A new secret message is up this morning, "Only the purest of heart will escape the web of fate." from What's New Today. I have put all four of them below for context, as we get ready to get pre-orders for the next End Times book, Khaine.

Here is a link to What's New Today to see for yourself. If you had not yet seen these, the messages are at the bottom of the page which you must highlight to see.

Here are all four messages from this week in order.
The flames await the phoenix, but the dragon stands against him.
The cast of players will assume their roles. Only through their sacrifice will Isha’s children be saved.
The bloody-handed god walks the world once more. The prophecy must be fulfilled.

Only the purest of heart will escape the web of fate.

  1. Arielle is the only survivor? She's the leader in the 3rd army list?

    1. I though that too, but isn't the weave different than the web of fate?

    2. Alarielle is the Queen of both the high elves amd the wood eleves now she took the place of the dying Ariel...
so she could become the queen of the dark evels too and reunite all the three kinds...
I guess that Tyrion Teclis Imrik and Malekith they will all die... And they will die too the various minor characters too...

    3. Wait, Ariel's dead? WHAT!?!

I will never accept that arrogant high elven wench as my queen!

    4. Chris White might not be far off... I noticed Araloth's first born daughter referred to as a saviour of her people in their time of need - the next Everqueen perhaps?

    5. Yeah, I was wondering that. We all know the last few army books seem to have been written with End Times in mind (hell, the WE one even has a section labelled "The End Times") so it's not a wild leap to imagine Araloth playing an important role in the days to come. Additionally, the goddess who told him his daughter would be a saviour-figure did talk about how the Elven gods are dying from the world, something the End Times book has been said to focus on...

      Damn, I'm excited!

The bloody-handed god walks the world once more. The prophecy must be fulfilled. Only the purest of heart will escape the web of fate. The sword will be freed and the flames extinguished. The Dragontamer’s work will be undone.

Ulthuan will be consumed by ocean and Deamons free. The elves are doomed. I cannot wait for this.. This will be interesting..

  2. Khaine walks!? There best be a model...

    1. there are three models that could be a great Khaine model to use, one plastic the other two: one failcast and one FW resin.

how many Khaines do there need to be? use one of the available ones. i doubt they will re-re-re-re-release another one just so whfb gets another Avatard model [as currently they already have one, albeit smaller than the FW and bigger than the failcast 40k Avatard which comes with the Dark Elves COB]

although i welcome the chance to be wrong, but i doubt i am with this, [i am fairly sure GW will see that they have atleast 3 sculpts of the "same" model and are current, will likely go with option B, and make something else instead]

    2. There isn't a modern standard Citadel plastic Avatar model. That feels like it needs addressing, and this would be the perfect opportunity to release one.

I'll still be very surprised if we don't see one in the End Times III release window.

    3. First off why would Tyrion grow to a large Avatar size becuase he drew the Sword? Aenarion didn't. It could just be a Title like the other Characters are getting and not a reflection of him becoming some gaint that is to look like Khaine himself.

Personally I hope Tyrion doesn't Hulk out and grow into some giant beast. Just seems silly and not in line with the current story.

  3. There is. See 40k Eldar. It's called the Avatar :(

    1. Or the Forge World Avatar, that one is awesome, I don't really like the old one. It still seems there won't be any new models :(((((((((

    2. or the DE Cauldron of Blood, depending on conversion's etc the treeman may fit in as well as an unofficial 4th avatar, and the only of the "4" that is different as the other 3 are the same model aesthetics wise just a different pose for them.

  4. I love the pretend shock people emote. The first rumors implied no models with the third book. We've seen no reports or pics of models.

Here we are, likely with no models, and everyone acts surprised, like GW owes them something (as part of a release they didn't know was even coming a few months ago).

Furthermore, Elves have all been updated recently, and this isn't a codex for them. They are just the feature of this piece of the story. Given GW's tremendous amount of model releases this year, I think it's acceptable if they go a week without.

    1. "We've seen no reports or pics of models."

Hastings reported on a statue of Elvish design so I wouldn't say *no* reports.

    2. what? GW does OWE me!!!!! how dare you imply otherwise. *SHOCKED*

      heresy BLAM!

no no one is surprised that there is no model, people are a little confused that there wont be a model release for a campaign that up til this point got large models,

also we have known for a few months so that bit about people not knowing is bollocks and you know your grasping at straws, like the rest of us do. those still "shocked" are wishlisting that there is a model. [if there is i am fine with being proven wrong]

yet another overtly predictable McDoogle comment.

    3. While it is a bit of a surprise there is no model release to accompany the 3rd ET book, I agree that we have been pretty spoiled these last few months in terms of new models and my wallet is struggling to keep up! However there are new minis being released, The Hobbit is getting some love and while this doesn't appeal to me personally, I know there are some who will be excited by this.

    4. so what you're saying is.....

That you are surprised that people are upset about what is, in your words, "a model company" NOT releasing models....

God damn you are just the biggest shill dude, seriously you are actually on the payroll aren't you

    5. @daboard
Yeah he is. I think he has a Store.
      Ofc he hates customers.
Its in the GW staff handbook.

    6. Where did it say every End Times book gets Giant models? The Elves are about being fast and mobile not big and strong. And this is not 40K where Avatar of Khaine means giant walking statue. All the leading Characters are getting new Titles with their names even if they didn't get a new model. Remember Karl Franz?

Wait till the book comes out before crying Dooms Day is here and all our gaming has been ruined by this.

      (Have we become that spoiled?)

    7. "This isn't a codex for them. They are just the feature of this piece of the story."

Which was true of the other two books and yet those armies got models!

Personally, I won't get pissed if we don't get models (GW don't "owe" us models, though it seems silly not to seize on the opportunity to sell more End Times stuff) but, as usual, McDoogle's arguments are just utter nonsense.

  5. I actually get a bit nervous the longer we go... because the Nagash book was great, and had superb models with it. The Glottkin book however felt very rushed... but at least it had great models with it... and now the third book and a possibility of no new models? Makes me wonder if GW are acting over their capacity... will gladly be proven wrong though!

    1. There are still another couple of weeks releases until Christmas - we're expecting scenery right... maybe the Elven statue is exactly that... and GW will finally be doing some race-specific scenery... Temple of Khaine or Temple of Isha anyone?

      Delete
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if they intersperse a small Elf release with Blood Angels in the New Year - an Avatar model, some wardancers, and a replacement for High Elf troop choices would do it. The existing Avatar is pretty cool though so no big deal if they don't replace that. Could do with an Avatar of Isha though so maybe a combo kit... on the subject of purest of heart aren't the Phoenix Guard also supposed to be pure of heart?

  8. Given that Alith Anar will shoot someone and decided the fate of the elves (as per WD leak) and given that the new piece of End times artwork shows tyrion and Malekith (assumed from their headpieces) fighting on a rock and a guy to the far left about to shout one of them I'm guessing Malekith may be about to say goodbye. To me the new end times artistic style of showing every named character in the same picture in big battle scenes suggests to me the guy on the left is Anith Anar. Also combine this with the fact that many of the character deaths (although admittedly not all) have been characters with old models - given WD it doesn't look like Malekith is getting any love anytime soon.

  9. well, malekith is pure...PURE EVIL
