There be Dragons......

Adding on to the rumors of Tastytaste yesterday, one of our own with some knowledge on the codex...ie he has it, chimed in on the mysterious infernal dragon mentioned in yesterdays news.

Here is Tastytastes rumor from yesterday

Please remember that until either I or the internet gets the codex in our hands, take these as rumors. And of course a big thanks to Grant for sharing, it was by far more than I expected to recieve.

Imagine a dragon made of "fire" and coverd in a platemale armor and you won't be too far off. That is the best discription I can give.

Some of the concept art shows it mauling a valkyrie mid flight. It is pretty cool.
But I've said too much!

Cheers,
Grant

(I told you guys those warseer guys were full of shit mates! lol Tastey Taste is 100% on the bloody money.)

  1. the only look I can think of that is similar is the K'dai Firebouurn for chaos dwarfs
    http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/K'DAAI_FIREBORN.html

Which is just a fantasy unit. Deamon engines should have the emphasis on the ENGINE part, like forgeworld does.

  2. Sounds like one of those Epic Tzeentch flying things.

Dare I ask Grant to photograph pictures from the codex? Don't want him to think I'm picking on him or saying he's a fibber, just thought I'd be cheeky and ask.

@Grant: Seriously, I'm just being cheeky and asking. No offense intended and no accusation implied.

  10. I think it makes sense. Imagine that you are a Techpriest who's been wanting to build awesome shit for centuries, but the Imperial beurocracy has forced you to churn out Rhinos and Chimaera ad nauseum. Now that you've fallen to Chaos, you're free to let your genius and your imagination run wild.

    Win.

    1. Aye this dragon screams Dark Mechanicus!

    2. I like the idea and trust Grant on this; I can actually imagine it quite well, as a sort of daemon engine crossed with a dragon - the best way I have to describe what I can see in my head is something out of avengers.
And of course, if you're chaos, you can build utterly improbable things, stick a daemon in there, and it will work perfectly!

  11. As much as I said earlier I didn't think it fit...if it turns out to be real, and turns out to look cool...I may have to scrap my other chaos plans and make a Dragon Warriors army. ;-)

  12. Ugh... This isn't Fantasy... There aren't dragons in Chaos Marines! This is just stupid.

    2. Thank you for saying the obvious!! It is idiotic and turns a game with a good hardcore scifi Fantasy universe into a freaking joke.

      A very sad day.

  13. Sounds like the Chaos codex writers have taken a leaf out of the Avengers movie with this flying mechanical dragon thing. Either that or the originator of the rumour just got back from the cinema and made it up.

  15. Eh, Grant said something, and since he's an experienced rumour monger who's been around since before the Old Ones we should believe everything he says. Salt, guys, SALT. ie: If CSM get a dragon, well duh it's going to be a daemon engine.

  16. Everyone is taking these rumors a little too seriously. They are what they are, RUMORS people! For all we know, TastyTaste and Grant could be just be mongering false rumors (I'm NOT saying they are)so please apply shakers worth of salt. The Chaos Dragon sounds like a reasonable move, as in the Horus Heresy novel Legion (stop reading if you don't like spoilers!) a dragon emerges from the chaos chapel in the Nurth city, although it does seem a little outlandish. As mentioned above it's probably Dark Mechanicum related. Cultists and traitor guard are good for me, especially since I play Iron Warriors which are known to take traitor guard and cultists (Which can hopefully take extra heavy weapons and special weaponry XD)However, I'm not a big fan of the whole removal of daemons and dreadnaughts (I'm sure hopiing they get redone or turned to contemptors.) If we do go back allied forces my future Word Bearers army is still looking up! Lets not forget about undivided however! May I ask Tastytaste or Grant how the groups such as the Black Legion, Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion, Word Bearers, or Night Lords are treated in this new codex? And remember the LEgion specific rules that were the popular topic of rumors earlier. Are they included in this edition? And the legion specific sprues, are they still there?

    1. These aren't rumors anymore. These are leaks mate. Flood gates are open at this point.

I'll let you know what is rubbish and what is not.

      Cheers,
      Grant

  17. WelL for starters I think these rumors are more plausible as we are PRESMABLY nearin the CSM codex, so info now is becoming even more leaked at a faster rate. Then and I dont mean to offend every die hard CSM player but: NEW codex=new changes. Maybe they are erasing the legions, maybe not. Look at the codex for necrons from 3rd to 5th's fluff jump. Some say it was terrible but most necron players will agree it was NECESSARY to add more personality SC ,vehicles, etc. This codex could be an entire rehaul of chaos from the groud up. Funny thing is in the world of medicine a common principal for the muscles is that to het stronger I must be strained an broken down to add new stronger muscle. Just my thoughts....

  18. If they redo chaos and the legions, then each novel of the horus heresy series would be invalidated.

  19. Obvious thing:

Fantasy Chaos are being redone - rumored for this year too, so a case of crossed wires?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not necessarily anon 431: those books took place 10,000 years befor the "now" so I guess it's possible for the legions to have split up par the way the rumors are saying or how ibinterpret it.

  21. Hey mates,

All the stuff in this link is 100% the real deal.

    http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/04/40k-rumors-on-chaos-marines-and-6th.html
    As far as 6th ed...

I will also add that vehicles use "hull points" in 6th. If a vehicle has 3 hull points it will die after 3 shaken results, but it can still explode after 1 shot as normal.

All cc weapons have AP values in 6th similar to what was in the fake 6th ed rule book leak.

There are going to be no different levels of Eternal Warrior either.

    Cheers,
    Grant

    1. Interesting.

The CC weapons AP sounds good.

A chainsword should do more damage than a knife or bayonet.

    2. Suddenly Stunlocking tanks with gauss guns just got amazing :) and living metal 5x better! (insert M. Bison voice) YES! YES! Also with ap in cc orks are gonna be easier than ever to kill. And how dobthe turn phases go? Is it like 5th or tht funky move assault shoot?

      Delete
    3. I believe the assault before shooting was just them trying some different shit. I don't think it worked out overall like they wanted.

      Short answer:
Move, shoot, assault is still the rule.

      Delete
    4. Thanks God, that was my one major complaint with it, as it would mean my shooty necrons would only get about 1 turn to fire.
