May is the month of our Necron 2nd wave, but wow is it dominated by the release of a ton of space marine models moving to finecast. I am not sure what Games Workshop has missed when it comes to leaving any metal in the Marine line, but I am sure they just about got it covered here.

Here is a link to the pics for the Necron 2nd Wave if you have not already seen them.

  2. The water effects has been there for years. I've got tree bottles, probably changing the shape somehow. Less for the same price.

  3. They probably still have a shit-ton of metal ones left.

  8. Thunderfire Cannon resin?

Might actually get one now. Didn't feel up to the challenge of trying to get a metal version put together...

    Still though.... $56????? Wow.

  9. This sucks. I not too long ago bought myself 10 Legion of the Damned, even though they were metal. Now they're finecast. BUGGER!!!

    1. I think the problem is getting any LotD. They're pretty bad when you think about what a Land Speeder can do for cheaper...

    2. Heck with using them as LotD - They make great Salamanders Sternguard models.

    3. Or Night Lords

  10. So, I make that (whilst waiting for paint to dry):
    9 new Necron products.
    1 new hobby product.
    40 space marine finecast re-releases.

Really shows you that Games Workshop have finally fixed their priorities.

  11. Wild speculation...

Dark Angels are marines, marines are getting most of their remaining metal HQ's converted to finecast. Dark Angels next, then chaos?

  12. looks like i be getting WD this thursday, it's both my armys but ya too much finecast

  13. Make it all fine cast! More expensive product with cheaper materials and poorer production quality... nothing tells me that gw cares like 20 dollars for a third of an ounce of resin.

    1. Casting in resin is harder from what I remember - at least metal can easily be melted down and re-cast, and it doesn't have bubbles.

      Delete
    2. metal's material cost is much higher though, and metal molds are slower, so output is lower, GW could probably produce a dozen or more resin models per metal model, for the same amount of time and price, so even if there is production issues, if attrition is 11 per 12, they shouldn't have switched over to begin with lol

  14. does anyone know what is going down about the new empire battalion at all?

  15. Wow, this months was supposed to be a Xenos month but of course GW has toappease the whining hordes and release more SM. That's just sad...

  16. Darn! I was still on the fence for getting the tomb blades. The models are better than the codex artwork but it would all come down to the price. Unfortunately $40 for a unit I may hardly use is a waste. I actually liked those models too!

  17. If you dont like it dont collect...
Its a hobby, no one is forcing you to go into their shops and purchase their products.
Forums should be for sharing ideas not nay-saying everything.

  18. Now that these photos from the new issue are out, has anyone seen a photo of the spine of this issue? Any closer to knowing who/what the image is? (Dark Angel, but is it a special character or just a Battle Brother).
