The big news today is a Specialist Design Studio that is being put together. I have put together a ton of information and even done a quick overview of what it means. Lets take a look at the latest information coming from all over.
Here is the original image that started it all late last night.
This has been confirmed by Hastings and many GW stores, even one... that at first denied hearing about it!
The Specialist Design Studio as we now know it..... from the information below
*The studio is linked up to Forgeworld
*Will do plastics as well as resin... (they are responsible for Betrayal at Calth for example)
*Games like Battlefleet Gothic and more will be coming... some 6 months out
*There are lots of design studio jobs open right now at Forgeworld
*LoTR and the Hobbit licensing has been renewed, and will continue here
*Blood Bowl, Necromunda, Epic Armageddon, and Battlefleet Gothic have been mentioned.
my favorite quote......
Games Workshop has established a Specialist Product Design Studio which will include the existing Forge World Studio but also design, create and develop new models, games and standalone product.
The Specialist Design Studio will also be responsible for bringing back some of our old favourite games as well!!!!
I have a feeling that Forgeworld and the new Specialist Design Studio could become the location of my favorite games and models. This is exciting.
The "poster" was made by an Australian GW store manager, not by any marketing department, not by HQ etc., he made the poster himself to send to his colleagues having been given the ok to do so. The contents of the poster are accurate. His spelling etc. not so much.
Who do you think did the HH boxed game? (referring to not only resins going to be used for future miniatures)

ITS ALL TRUE ........ WELL BITS OF IT ANYWAY!
So I've been e-mailing most of the day and here - hopefully is the end to the rumours!
There is a LONG TERM (at least 6 months likely more) investment into bringing back some of our classic beloved games from Specialist Games. This will NOT be falling under the auspice of the Games Workshop side of the business, but linked up with Forgeworld instead. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WORD on a timescale or indeed, which specialist games may be looked at, whether they will be given a rejig or anything of that nature.
I stress this is a while in the future - the team to oversee the project has not even been assembled!
That is the offical message I have now recieved!
That said maybe it would be no bad thing to THINK about which citdel minis would make great gangmembers etc.
Lots of Design Jobs at Games Workshop/ Forgeworld

GW Reps will have a new training this week msn-wink.gif
And yeah, it's legit ^^
Can't wait for the first 4 BB teams and Battlefleet
It's basically Forgeworld expanded (or added to a second team) - Blood Bowl should be ready for release in theory. So yeah, FW is now part of the specialist product design team. They can support the Hobbit/LotR 'cause they still have the rights, but it won't be a "main system" anymore^^
Btw, wouldn't it be funny if the specialist games, together with FW, make more money than GW prime? XD
They will make new stuff/games, standalone products and will re-introduce old games, yeah

Good evening Hobbyists!
I have some exciting hobby news to share with you all! Games Workshop has established a Specialist Product Design Studio which will include the existing Forge World Studio but also design, create and develop new models, games and standalone product. But that's not all! The Specialist Design Studio will also be responsible for bringing back some of our old favourite games as well!!!!
As if that wasnt enough, this team is also (and I'm quoting from the announcement for dramatic effect) "...will also be responsible for maintaining our journey into Middle Earth. It will be the only GW studio that will produce new product to support Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit."
So there you go! How exciting!? New product for the Hobbit? Very exciting!
I have always a fan of Battlefleet Gothic, Epic Armageddon, and many of the other specialist games. Why not comment below with the specialist game you'd most like to see return with a reboot or just a reprint?
