Leaked Images Are Out- Cult Mechanicus Codex

The leaks are out for the Cult Mechanicus codex. Most of them are in German, and there are also some in Spanish now. (technically I should be able to speak both those languages.... but I cant). The leaks reveal the Cult Mechanicus Detachment, Formations, Relics, Wargear, and Canticles. Definitely worth taking a look at, and hopefully someone can translate some of them.

Here are some links to where you can find them.

  1. I'm sorry - those robots still look hideous.

    2. Ah I love their 60s retro style

    3. They've grown on me a lot, I have to admit :)

    4. Glue the three-eyed auger sensor from the Onager kit over the face plate.

    5. I know someone else who did that same thing!

Even then, having played around with them for a couple of weeks (yup, always get mine early!), they've grown on me.

    6. Mcdoogle, no one cares how long youve had your plastic space robots for.

    9. His history of outragious claims made me do it. Simply flipping the heads around makes them look infinitely better.

    10. Their eyes remind me of Brazilian comic characters (for kids)

    11. Easy three-step way to improve them:
      1- Go to Forge World.co.uk
      2- Buy some HH-era robots
      3- $Profit$

    12. I don't think buying anything from Forge World ending in a profit for you :P

    13. Good point, but the FW Battle Automata look so much better.

  2. I painted a set of them up, and they grew on me. Part of the problem is the paint scheme.

    1. ^ This. Adding more metallic areas does wonders. And, more than one bloody colour.

    2. And not that ridiculous dome head :D

    3. The head kind of reminds me of Juggernaut's helmet

  3. Have you people ever read any Horus Heresy novels that feature any Mechanicum forces? Or Lords of Mars and Priests of Mars?

They have always described those robots and many other having that dome head.

Am I only one who finds those aesthetically pleasing? :)

    1. The forge world Castellan has a dome head and looks infinitely better. Not sure why forgeworld named their model a Kastellan.

    2. I like it, but only with no face plate. I'm filling mine in with putty so my Kastelans will look creepy, just like Jes Goodwin's original concept art which the models were derived from.

  4. Looking forward to getting my own codex next week on the mail to pour over.

Painted up my Skitarri with Mars colors, but starting to think I need my Cult Mech to be Metalica colors...those robots look better when not unicolor red...I mostly enjoy their design since it coincides with fluff, got figure out how I'll tackle the faceplates...black like a screen, or silver with scratches like GW's mock ups. Anyone with exp. doing either?

  5. I've done mine by basing it black, then warlock bronze and reflection layered with gehenna's gold and added some mithril silver scratches. Paints are actually from Aerocolor Pro range, but I used Citadel's paint range as reference since nearly everyone knows those colors.
