Warlord Titan Head Revealed

Forgeworld this morning revealed the head of the new Warlord Titan that is coming shortly on the horizon. When will it be revealed?..... Most likely during the Grand Opening of Warhammer World this coming weekend. (that is a just a good guess atm, but I am sure we will be hearing more of the event this week)

    1. It's actually just a costume. The mask sits on ur head and you just walk on your table

  2. Looks great! I have hopes that they won't pattern the new model after the abomination that is the Tim Adcock Epic 40,000 Warlord— easily one of the worst models ever produced by Citadel.

    1. Seeing as how ZERO of the revealed pieces have looked like that, I think safe to say that any fears of such a nightmare are unwarranted. There isn't much Citadel has screwed up in the last 5-7 years.

    4. Agreed McDoogle. Just waiting to see what they've done with the main carapace. Turtle shell, or skyscaper blockiness is the question.

    5. link to the model you are referring to?

      Delete
    6. You know it's the magnificent Turtlelord.

      Delete
    7. @starchild have to say i totally disagree, hated the original beetle/turtle warlord, loved the epic 40k one, i dunno boxxy and ugly = imperial, curves = eldar trickery, as for one of the worst models made by citadel it doesnt even come close to the horibleness that was the original land raider, or whirlwind....

    8. Speaking of Eldar, did you see what Tim Adcock did to the Eldar Titans? I don't know how anyone could like anything he sculpted for Epic. The only thing I can figure out is that GW was trying to kill Epic with atrocious models (which worked perfectly). But everyone is entitled to an opinion.

      Delete
    9. Starchild... I really really liked the Eldar Epic models. Very marmite maybe?

      Delete
    10. @starchild indeed chalk and cheese :) that said the rules killed epic 40k they might as well called it 40k extra little overpriced plastic men edition ;) for all the resemblance it had to the original epic... It was the catalyst for a 14 year break from the hobby for me that said I've been told that bfg owes a lot to epic 40k so its not all bad just a shame I never played it when it was current...

      Delete
    11. Do you mean the Lucius Pattern Warlord Titan? Or the metal model before it that was something of a hybrid of the original plastic Mars-Patterns ones and the Epic 40k Lucius?

      Delete
    12. @natchak: That too. The rules were a blatant ripoff of Dirtside 2, and they discontinued over half the Chaos range. = DOA

@Nomeny: The blocky all metal Warlord sculpted by Dave Andrews was good. (I was even in the market for buying them at one point, but they are so difficult to find now). I was referring to the Lucius. I think Mr. Tim was just starting out as a sculptor at GW. Still, his designs should have never been approved.

If this FW Warlord is any good, maybe we'll get an Epic scale version of it... in an alternate reality or another plane of existence. Anything is possible, right?

    16. Russell, one thousand times yes. That venerable game is still worth playing to this day.

    17. Starchild, the new Warlord has already been shown via a Forge World video and weekly bulletin photos, both of which can be found on this site. It shares the same design principles as the plastic Imperial Knight. Take a look:

    18. Personally I always preferred the look of the original plastic "beetlebacks", and am in love with the current "Mars Pattern" and Knight aesthetics, so I'm pretty stoked. I stitched my own picture together from the video and you can just make out the carapace and shoulder of a second Warlord to the far left. The top of the Reaver's carapace appears to fall just about even with the shoulder of the Warlord.

    19. nope @ Ian don't know you. also i don't vent at people. i share my opinion where and when i see fit just the same as anyone else here.

also very insulted i got told to go to the basement of my folks place when i own my own house. very very insulted....sure LOL

    4. did you know they have a sac and pac service for people who can't afford things. sacrifice and get a packet of money....or half of what you wanted originally.

    6. Stop buying GW plasticcrack for 3 months and you should have the money saved up.

I could buy it. But i dont like the head and legs and its just going to sit around. Waste of money. Just like the tau manta

      Delete
    7. I could buy one but I can't imagine being able to justify owning one. Sure it'd be cool and all but I'd rather keep saving for my first home! Maybe after I let the financial dust settle I'll consider it.

      Delete
    8. @ Nightfury .

You assume that I havent?.... I mean you assumed correctly but that's not the point! :P

Seriously though I probably could afford one in a few months but it would have to be a few months where absolutely nothing else I want is released... So that's unlikely.

I think the main issue here will be how horrific it's going to be to actually build the damn thing! If it where plastic then sure, no major probs but this is Forgeworld resin... Don't get me wrong it's 100X better than Finecast (although it's better now) but... The nightmares...

    2. Well... If you can handle a burden of terrible guilt I suppose the recasters would be an option. Or you could buy the model with plenty of mold rubber and casting resin, and cast whatever parts you need for terrain.

      Delete
    3. ^ if you feel bad about using recasters you should feel guilt over recasting yourself.

      Delete
    4. personally i don't feel bad at whatever thing other hobbyists deem unsavory or wrong. it is the real world. people do what they want and cry about the implications later if caught doing wrong or play the denial card.....so really recast if you want or mold it yourself or kitbash or proxy or whatever....other peoples opinions may affect your opinion but don't let it affect the end result: your own enjoyment doing whatever it is you are doing. fun fact; those that argue against piracy are some of the biggest pirates.....only the way they do things they can fall back on moral knight bullshit.

      Delete
    5. ....it's wrong they murmur, you should feel bad you terrible person...or say feth that i am enjoying what i do and ignore the naysayers....i sure as shit don't hear them talking down the best in our hobby for "breaking imaginary rules"

  12. I think it would be a good idea for some of the major tournaments that have a large turnout to raffle one of these bad-boys painted up. I mean, increase tickets by $X (or whatever currency) and anyone participating gets a raffle ticket included. X doesn't have to be a large number if enough people show up. While the winners of the tournament get their own prizes/trophies, this would be a nice incentive for those who don't do well to still stick out until the end. Even if you don't use it in games, it would be an awesome decorative piece for your Hobby Cave :D

  15. Even if you bought one of these you'd never be able to use it outside apocalypse. I gave up on apocalypse after the last game took us 10 hours to complete. Even back when we played it regularly, it was never more than once a month. Seems like a poor investment.

    5. Judging by some of the size comparisons, the top of a Reavers carapace will reach the Warlords shoulders. I imagine the Warlord will be a lot bulkier though. Hope it has some kick ass interior detailing

    6. i wasn't being serious. my parents didn't buy me a house. i was raised by single parent & only recently after 14 years have i managed to save for a house and fully paid for it (but i can exaggerate a bit can't I)....really i complain about Australian prices for GW stuff....isn't that a hint i am not rich (or as rich as i make out sometimes, affording something or not and being wealthy are two different things, but i learned to go without and compromise if i want $500 a month on 40k...example i eat at home instead of eating out and buy my plastic crack instead).....i was taking the piss out of people whom complain at prices....people like.....myself....but it's great it flew over peoples head.

starchild knows by my commentary that i am rarely serious. unless when bitching about prices. (the thing about no family/wife/etc is true however)
