This Week's Releases: Codex, Tech-Priests Dominus, and Electro-Priests

The Cult Mechanicus codex is coming this week! Alongside the codex will be the final models for the release, Electro-Priests which will be a dual kit, and the long waited for Tech-Priest Dominus. Here is the latest on the Cult Mechanicus.

Please remember that this is early information still. Take it as rumor at this point.

  1. Sounds about right.

Only 3 more weeks before I can afford to buy them!!!

  2. Much as expected - no solid rumour on next week though eh? Apparently it's a big, big week for GW store targets because it was the week of the 40k rulebook last year.

  3. It has nothing to do with any past releases, the next few weeks will be big and hectic due to it is the end of GW s fiscal year. They run June to May and always try to start and end strong with flood of releases and major releases.

    1. Well, and past releases haven't been an indicator of anything for several years now.

    2. ^ well except the validity kinda depends on indicators but since it is irrelevant does this mean so is your continued shilling? the experts online collectively agree it is so....and so it was.

  4. Mechanicus Science is the best in the galaxy!

Ok, propaganda and Jojo reference aside, this is looking good, however I wonder if the Mechanicus may get more vehicles such as the Krios, or some sort of tank, I mean, walkers are cool and all, but the Krios has been crying for months to get a plastic version.

    1. Good thought but sadly the fluff they have released so far basically says that they drop trips off and they foot slog wherever they need to go. The mechanical legs basically make them inexhaustible.

    2. I would love to see a transport version of the Onager. I think the codex mentions that the Onager is a modified version of a transport vehicle used to move supplies. Are there any existing Transport Walkers for other factions? I can't think of any.

    3. The Orkanauts are the only thing that come to mind.

    4. just ally with some imperial goofs and steal their transports

    5. Non-superheavy, just the Orkanauts. And they can only carry six models, despite being the size of a Knight. No AT-AT's in this universe, it seems.

    6. The rumor is that the next Imperial Armour book will be for Ad. Mech, so chances are many of those 30k Mechanicum units will get 40k rules

    7. I can believe that ... think FW was waiting for GW to make AdMech army before they released bonus stuff

    8. Alan Bligh said as much during this past Warhammer World re-opening weekender. FW wanted to see just how the GW Mechanicus panned out so any of their rules didn't upset balance too much. It's great to see FW being so conscientious about the effect on the meta their rules have. Really have to give those guys a lot of respect.

    9. Too bad GW doesn't show quite the same conscientiousness when writing their rules, eh?

  5. So, no Enginseers then. My 1999 skullz promo Tech Priests will have to be counts-as Datasmiths for now. At least I can use the Magos as a Dominus! http://www.solegends.com/citle2000/skulz/skulzadeptus/index.htm

    1. The paint job on those model is the link is atrocious. How can someone mess those models up.

    2. I know! I'm painting mine now to far higher standards.

    3. Okay the way you were talking about them I expected much worse those weren't too bad .... could've chosen a better colour palette but otherwise not bad .... I've seen much much MUCH worse

    4. i am curious about Rusty's skill level since he/she has thrown down the gauntlet....i mean you can't call it down and not back it up with action....you made a claim it is atrocious....let's see what you can do mate....i really genuinely am curious now.

also i second the models on that link are good (or good enough for tabletop, and i also second seeing more worse paintjobs than those models paintjobs)

  6. No limited edition codex.
    None for the Knights either.

    1. Good. I prefer that GW invest time and resources into things that are more appealing.

    2. I like limited editions ...but I only would get one for my favorite army ... Tyranids

    3. Knights was a surprise give that the previous codex was a higher standard that the others in terms of presentation.

I'm 50/50 about a LE for the Cult Mech; on one hand I want one to go with my Skitarii box, on the other hand it's more money for 2 extra boxes of models...seems odd that GW would LE up Skitarii but not the faction that actually has "Mechanicus" in the title...
