    1. lol, I didnt take a good look at them yet. So much for assuming.

    2. I can help: All units gain canticles even if not cult, If the tech priest is you warlord you can reroll the warlord traits table in codex cult mechanicus, and it appear to say relics of mars and arcane mechanicum are free. Anyone with gets hot loses it.

      Delete
    3. NICE while not too mental, depending on what Canticles do, ofc...

      Delete
    4. Oaft, I'm with Mauler. That could be fantastic if Canticles are good. Imagining they give buffs like preferred enemy or something, that could lead to some *brutal* combos!

      Delete
    5. Some people have been translating it as all upgrades are free. The blurb says relics included. Don't know french but a few people are saying that on there.
      would be insane.

    7. Remember, Canticles of the Omnissiah gets better depending on how many units in your army have the rule.

If both Skitarii *and* Cult Mechanicus units have it, this should be a pretty dramatic boost per Canticle invoked in a turn. My next question: Can Skitarii benefit from a Doctrina Imperative and a Canticle of the Omnissiah in the same turn? I want to know. =P

      Delete
    8. You could be right, it does say 'compris' which means included. (As in the french phrase service compris - meaning tip included at a restaurant)

      Delete
    9. Starchild, I don't see why not? Unless the codex specifically states they're not affected by a skitarii bonus if they're under a cult mech bonus, but those chances seem reaaally slim.

But because of the formation, which is probs gonna be "one of each unit" you're already gonna have a tockfun of dudes, so imagine what it's gonna be like with the mechanicum formation added. Looking at at least 10 "units", right?

      Cannot wait.

      Delete
    10. my personal translation:

"All the options available to the units in the formation (including Relics of Mars and Arcana Mechanicum) are free"

      Delete
    11. actually replace units by "models"

      Delete
    12. Yeah that's correct. All options for all models are free

      Delete
    13. Here's a full translation:

Brotherhood of the Martian Machine : All the units of this formation have the special rule Canticles of the Omnissia (see Codex: Cult Mechanicus), even if they are not all part of the Cult Mechanicus faction.

      - Alpha-Dominus : If the Tech-Priest Dominus of this formation is your Warlord, you can reroll your dice roll on the Warlord Traits Table of Codex: Cult Mechanicus

Power of the Adeptus Mechanicus : All the options available to models of the Formation (including Relics of Mars and Arcana Mechanicum) are free. Furthermore, weapons of models in the formation lose the 'Gets Hot' rule if they have it.

Under restrictions in the Formation 'Aucune' means 'none'

Since its there I made a stab at the blurb for the Electro=Priest:
When the Driving Force (or Motive Force) moves through the body of an Electro-Priest it has a distasteful secondary effect: the eyeballs of the Electro-Priest start to heat up and end up explodiong, or just melt. The vitreous humour which flows down the cheeks of the priest is called the Tears of the Omnissiah. This is, however, not an insurmountable obstacle for the Electro-Priests, who perceive their surroundings as a crackling vision of the Motive Force.

    14. So really all you have to pay for are models in units so this is quite doable at 1850 especially with a gallant. This is also one source for tournaments.
onagers with all the upgrades still 90 a piece.
I want to field this so badly.
just need to find the points for drop pod buddies.
also fun for those who can use unbound in their games this makes it so that you can use those detachments in unbound since formations keep their special rules.

      Delete
    15. Oh my god.

Well, I was wondering when Admech would get their broken formation. Here it is. Those 30 point Plasma Calivers for Vanguard? Free. Those IWND upgrades for Onagers? Free. Relics? Free. Mindscanner probes, smoke launchers, arc pistols, arc mauls? How about the Melta Gun upgrade for the Knight? Free.

That's... That's incredible. In getting rid of the prices of those upgrades, you double the number of models that you can put on the table!

      Delete
    16. ohh jesus this could be insane!

    18. This is crazy. "Shame" it function off of Battle Maniple and stuff. No flexibility at all. Just take all the units and all their options and there you go. Done.

      Delete
    19. Do AdMech have dedicated tank options? Because those are generally options too, so you would get free tanks.

      Delete
    20. wait nvm, even if they did, it wouldn't be a model choice

      Delete
    21. It's actually not that bad. Thinking about it I was already starting to see that the formation sucks, and other people are reaching the same conclusion: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/649498.page

Knee jerk panic as always. :P I'm guilty too this time!

      Delete
  2. Thankfully that "Exclusive" formation is in almost no way relevant to the vast majority of us because there's no way in hell that it's under 2000 points. My guess is that it's all 3 of the "One of each" formations from Cult/Skitarii/Knights.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. From what I've seen you are only right about the skitarii. The knight oaths worn is just their allied detachment and the cult one seems to be their own version of cad.

      Delete
    2. The Skitarii and IK detachments combined are 1000 pts base, so still plenty of room left for CM stuff in a 1500 pt game

      Delete
    3. /tg/ figured it out. It fits into a 2000 point game, possibly 1850.

      Delete
    4. How does that work? 600 points base for the Skitarii Battle Maniple, 375 for the IK, and assuming around 150 for the Tech Priest 450 for the CM detachment. That's only around 1425 base. base.

      Delete
    5. Oh hang on not what you meant. You need 3 knights apparently

      Delete
    6. 1 Oathsworn detachment = 1-3 knights.

      Delete
    7. No the oathsworn deach mentioned is minimum 1 knight not 3. You can't get a character knight with a relic but all his upgrades are free. Plus you could use a gallant at 325 then add carapace guno to give it some firepower.

      Delete
  3. My main question is:

    what's a Cult Mechanicus Battle Congregation ?

because if that's juste the name of the CM detachment, that's the most OP formation ever...

at first I thought it was the GW bundle of a similar name "The Congregation Mechanicus" but it include models from the Skitarii codex so it doesn't make sense

    1. According to Atia it's 1 HQ 2 troops just like the standard. Interestingly enough.

    2. If it is the basic one it's already on here: http://natfka.blogspot.com/2015/05/cult-mechanicus-detachment-leaks.html

However the leak doesn't mention the name so you could be right, it could be the same as the Skitarii Battle Maniple and require one of each.

      Delete
    3. Atia mentioned it on B&C in the thread natfka linked on this page.

  4. This means that I pay min prices for the squads.... As adding 1-5 Skittarrii more to my ranger squads is an option, so you get 10 man squads kitted with everything for the price of 5 man squads. Sweet baby emperor

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No the options are free per model. Adding a model is an option for the unit so you still pay for new models

      Delete
    2. Lol no. You dont get to max your squads for free.

    3. As per the translations so far, that's what I can gather. The below translation tells otherwise. We'll see on the wording when it drops in English ;)

  5. Ok Guyz, a translation for you from a frenchy smile.png

    Formation :
    - 1 Detachment "cult mechanicus battle congregation".
    - 1 Formation "Battle maniple skitarii"
    - 1 Detachment "Oathsworn Imperial Knight"

    - Confrérie de la machine de mars : Units of the formation get canticles of the omnissia special rule, even if they aren't part of the Cult Mechanicus Faction.
    - Alpha-Dominus : If the Tech-Priest of the formation is the Warlord, you can reroll your warlord traits on the Cult Mechanicus Table
    - Puissance de l'adeptus mechanicus : Options which can be bought by models of this formation (relics of March, & Arcana mechanicum include) are free. Furthermore, weapons with the rule "get hot" of this formation lose this rule.

  9. Volkite weapons transfer so much thermal energy to the target that it combusts on the spot.

    Range 24", S6, AP5, Heavy 3, Conflagration (best guess)

Conflagration: After normal attacks from this weapon are resolved, count the number of Wounds removed from the target unit; immediately resolve the same number of automatic hits at S6 AP5. The models of the target unit must still be within range for these additional attacks to happen. The wounds lost because of this special rule do not cause additional attacks.

    1. You left one out. "Gets Hot!" does not apply to any weapons carried by this formation.

      Delete
    2. As a chaos player I feel your pain, but I personally suspect this is less of loyalist-love than a case of "you purchased an entirely new army of models and, therefore, deserve to win"

      Delete
    3. Yep, Chaos players get 6th edition supplements while everyone else gets to have fun.

      Delete
    4. chaos just got a new supplement. and any supplement that allows you to replace a cultist squad leader with a blood thirster ain't all bad

      Delete
    5. Chaos needs 40k versions of the old Epic daemon engines, a new basic Chaos Space Marine kit with tons of options, and add-on sprues for each Cult faction, bare minimum.

      Delete
    6. Daemonkin is a fun codex and well written, but it is not on par with the new stuff coming out. It is also limited to Khorne, so inapplicable to 4 out of 5 possible army themes. Unless you believe that Dark Angle players are fine because Ultra Marines just got new stuff, then don't pigeon hole all chaos players together.

      Delete
    7. Been waiting since 2nd edition for these and the rumoured genestealer cult return. Some armies have not been updated since 1st edition. Chaos will never have to wait 20 years for an update. And some updates are good and some are bad. As i also play Tyranids believe me i've seen bad codexes. I know patience can be difficult especially waiting for an upgrade to an editions major changes. But you'll get major updates eventually as well as forgeworld stuff that can be used in 30k as well as 40k.

    8. Batty, I don't think you get what I'm upset about. I think it's excellent that admech is being (re)introduced. I'd like dark mechanicus to show up but I'm more than happy to wait and see if that ever happens. What has my blood up is this formation with UNLIMITED FREE UPGRADES for the whole force, not to mention other bonuses. Every time I let myself think about that I get teeth clenchingly angry, toy soldiers or not.

  11. Here's the weapon rules i anyone wants them. Some might be the same as in earlier White Dwarfs (Dwarves?). I doon't have them all so sorry if there's any duplication. Also some of the technical or invented words are a bit tricky to translate so may well be a bit off.

    Mechadendrite Harness
The metal cables and the armatures of this are used b Tech-Priests of the Cult Mechanicus to accomplish hundred of different tasks

The wearer can shoot with all shooting weapons in the Shooting Phase. In addition, the wearer is equipped with a data-pick

    Data-pick (?data-thief is better)
Data picks allow agents of the Adeptus Mechanicus to invade the cortex of enemy machines and steal their secrets in moments
Range -, S user, AP-, Melee, Data-pick, Disruption

Data-pick: When a model equipped with a weapon with this special rule attacks in hand-to-hand, it gains an extra attack with this weapon at initiative step 10. This does not give an extra Pile In move.

    Augurskull
The Adeptus Mechanicus does not take exploiting warzone resources lightly – to the degree that some members continue their work after death.

At the beginning of each of your turns, the bearer can identify 1 Mysterious Objective anywhere on the battlefield

    Electroclastic Baton
The powerful capacitors built into an electroclast baton allow it to drawn off every last bit of electricity from its victim

    Range -, S+2, AP4, Melee, two-handed, Shock, Electroclast

Electroclast: A roll of 6 to wound gives the Instant Death rule

    Electrostatic gauntlets
These bracelets channel electrostatic charge from the rearmounted generator and release it in a cascade of deadly lightning
    Range 12” S4 AR- Assault 2, twin-linked
    Range -, S+1, AP-, Melee

    Eradication Beamer
Whosoever is taken by the pale light of the eradication beamer finds death
Eradication shots have different profiles depending on the distance to the target. If the profile to use is not clear, the controlling player gets to choose

    Range 0-12”, S8, AP1, Heavy 1
    Range 12-24”, S6, AP3, heavy 1, Blast

    Macropistol
This is an antique pistol capable of firing a cloud of solid projectiles
    Range 12”, S4, AP6, Burst (?) pistol

Burst (?) Pistol: When shooting with a weapon with this rule, throw 5 dice, but it is treated as a pistol in all other respects

    Phosphor Serpenta
Even if a victim turns out to be strong enough to survive, the light given off by these globes serves as a beacon to allies, guiding their attacks.

    Range 18”, S5, AP4, Assault 1, Luminagen

Luminagen – same as in previous WD

    Volkite Charger
Volkite weapons transfer so much thermal energy to the target that it combusts on the spot.

    Range 24", S6, AP5, Heavy 3, Conflagration (best guess)

Conflagration: After normal attacks from this weapon are resolved, count the number of Wounds removed from the target unit; immediately resolve the same number of automatic hits at S6 AP5. 2. The eradication beamer profile is different from that for the skitarii from WD63 -might be better as 'eradication ray'. And yes, I know how sad it is that I noticed that. I'm going to go hang my head in shame in the corner right now.

      Delete
    3. The "Data-pick" is a Dataspike, same as the Datasmith. :]

It's also not likely to be a Charger; the weapon sits between a Caliver & Culverin in power, both nastier than the Charger and "Conflagrate" is right. Thank you for the hardware translations :D

"Burst Pistol" is also correct; the Skitarii also have that rule.

    4. Most welcome, VS. You did the hard work :D

    5. So Mechadendrite Harness is like a 30k Machinator Array but with the data spike replacing the bonus to the Battlesmith repair roll and servo-arm type attacks?

Not bad though i'd have preferred the 3+ repair roll unless the Magos get's it or similar anyway.

      Delete
    6. Batty, the rumors from before had them repairing vehicles on a 2+

      Delete
    7. If so that'd be nice indeed. I specialise my 30k Archmagos on repairs so i get 3+ with a reroll but 2+ in 40k would be potent.

    1. We still don't know exactly what the Canticles of the Omnissiah offer. If they are rubbish, then no, this formation is not over powered.

      Delete
    2. Come on... Formation wide no gets hot and the several hundred points of free upgrades and relics alone are too OP. The canticles are just icing on the cake. Whats the downside? A couple of units you have to take aren't the best in the codexes. Not much of a draw back when your getting tons of free stuff plus bonuses.

      Delete
    3. What was the marine one where whole squads get a free power sword or weapon? I think that was more op than this sounds

      Delete
    4. The no "Gets Hot!" isn't quite as good as it sounds. For one, Skitarii can boost their ballistic skill with Doctrina Imperatives and reroll 1's anyway.

It will benefit Kataphron Destroyers with plasma culverins, but why bother when you can take the much nastier heavy grav cannons?

The point is, no "Gets Hot" is really a situational bonus. I think army wide Canticles may (or may not) be what tips this formation into Eldar Warhost territory.

      Delete
  14. Are we sure this is referring to the formation in the Skitarii book and not the detachment? Don't have it on me at the moment, but isn't the detachment also called Skitarii Battle Maniple? Could make it easier to meet the minimums for the exclusive formation.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the detachment is called a Skitarii Maniple, this is the formation we're talking about

    2. The detatchment and one of the formations are both called a Maniple. The Battle Maniple is the formation. Skitarii Maniple is the detatchment.

  15. So why haven't they leaked the unit profiles/ dataslates?
Really want to know the stats and the special rules.
had an idea that in all likelihood won't come to pass. To make the T3 5++ priests more palatable you could give them the rule the battle robots have where they bounce shots back. Make it slightly risky to shoot them at all. Could improve the bounce back if they go to a 3++.
