Forgeworld's Christmas jigsaw is out in full force and running, and I am playing catch up a little, since I did not post up when it first came out this year. Well we have a second updated image now, so the model is coming together so we can have a much better idea on what it is going to be.

Just to be clear, the second image is above, and the first is below encase you missed it.

  2. Deathshroud Terminator? That could be a scythe...

  3. It does look like it could be Heresy armour and the beginnings of a scythe.

  4. Where are these being posted? I don't see them on Forge World's Website.

  6. Drool, that is a scythe, Whether its Deathshroud or just Death Guard special weapons, I'll likely pick some up to nurgle-ify!

  7. im def betting on deathshroud or a techmarine maybe? hopeing its deathshroud tho itd add nicely to my deathguard army :D

  8. I'm guessing Techmarine or Librarian.

  9. The Warseer thread have a link showing a prototype scythe with the same bend as the picture above.
    Almost certainly Deathshroud Terminator.

  10. I kinda looks like Typhus.

  11. Agree with everyone who said Deathshroud.

  12. Take a Warpsmith, remove all the tentacles, slightly unchaos the edges making them less spiky and wrecked. It becomes this...

  13. Looks to me like thousand sons ore heresy marine

  14. Ohh my, it's ANOTHER Space Marine... As if we didn't have enough miniatures about them. I have 3 different space marine armies, plus a chaos space marine army, AND I'M CRAVING FOR MORE XENOS. Please, just make something up GW! Or copy the idea of a movie, since Tolkien didn't make any science-fiction novels...

    1. Forgeworld are doing Horus heresy, Horus heresy was a civil war that majorly involved guess who? Space Marines!
Xenos are coming, just wait like everyone else

    2. I understand that. What I mean is, much more than half the things produced around 40k are about space marines. It's not enough to have the already existing xenos to be updated decades after the last time, I mean NEW xenos.

    3. Space Marines are the reason I stick with GW. Plenty of companies make all kinds of xenos mini's. Only GW makes Space Marines.

  15. hey look at that, another space marine. yay.

no wonder this game is getting known as marinehammer more and more.

  16. Has anyone considered it isnt deathshroud, it looks alot more like typhus if you ask me, the only pictures of the deathshoud look alot classier than this model and its chest and scythe actually look like typhus's.

    1. Typhon*. His name was Typhon in the HH era. He didn't become Typhus until the Destroyer Plague ravaged his fleet and he gave himself and his command over to Nurgle for "salvation".

    2. If anything, I'd imagine Typhon would have the fancier armour than the deathshroud

  17. I'd rather have the Mortarion model itself out. Deathshroud can wait or come out at the same time for all I care.

    1. Because they're not going to release miniatures for Heresy Legions that have not been featured in books yet.

  20. It is Tartaros terminator armour. With and extended armour tabard and a different chest design (a grill and tubing rather than an Aquilla. The weapon could very well be a Scythe.

As a little side note, the Tartaros helmet matches the Justaerin seen in the Model Preview youtube video and in varios pictures from Games Day UK. This combined makes me think that Tartaros Armour might be heresy era and comming out in a later book. And with the mention of Saturnine (or similar name) this gives us four Terminator Variants.

    Cattaphracti (and Justaerin)
    Indomitus
    Saturnine
    Tartaros

Sorry if I spelled any names wrong :D

    1. That chest design matches the death guard specific Deathguard contemptor dread...

  21. Just to add.
Cataphractii (and Justaerin variant)= 2+/4++ Slow and Purposeful, no Sweeping Advance
Indomitus = 2+/5++ Relentless, no Sweeping Advance
    Speculatively:-
Saturnine = 2+/5++ Relentless, no Sweeping Advance, Psychic hood/Aegis? Could be the armour worn by Grey Knight Terminators from Titan (a moon of Saturn also known as Saturn VI)
Tartaros = 2+/5+ Relentless, No Sweeping Advance. Tartaros is a deep and gloomy pit full of noxious fumes and poisonous waters etc, beneath the Underworld in Greek mythology. It is filled with monsters and the vanquished Titans from the Gods Wars. Sounds like Deathguard home world, Barbarus, in name and character. It is a place of punishment for people who in some way were Betrayers of guest, husbands, other Gods etc.
I think that last is also a happy coincidence.

  22. It does look like a scythe, but my first thought was Perturabo.

    1. That was my thought as well, but if Angron was any indication the Primarchs will have diorama-scale bases which this image doesn't have.

Looking forward to seeing the next part of the puzzle.

  23. Sorry to poop on everyone's parade, Deathshroud wear Cataphractii armour, and this is clearly Tartaros pattern.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Do they? I can't remember it being mentioned, in fact I can't find it after a quick skim through the Heresy novels...though I don't have all of them.I agree it is clearly Tartaros.

    1. No, I stand corrected. Just had a squiz at the Betrayal book. Standard terminator squads have 'terminator armour' under wargear, with an option to upgrade to cataphractii patern armour for free. However Deathshroud have only 'terminator armour' with no option to upgrade.

I take it this must mean they're in the standard terminator get-up, which in this case would presumably mean tartaros.

  25. It is Deathshroud.
