Once again we are hearing more and more on an Ork 2013 model wave. Around April is what a lot of the rumors are saying, and this is yet another to add to the equation.

At this point its hard to say if the rumor mongers are feeding off each other a little bit, or they are receiving separate information that is pointing to the same thing. I am going to go with the later on this one, since source information does seem to be different.

Please remember that these are rumors.

Rumor is the battle wagon is getting reboxed, and will include the deffrolla sprue. ETA 2013. Price rise expected.

I'm hearing an ork wave with buggies/trax, new battle wagon box (old battlewagon with deffrolla incl), tank bustas/flashgitz plastics, and deffcoptas.
This is in contention for Q2 model wave release.

    1. If Orks are April i would expect the Month Before, March to be non 40k and i also expect a nother Hobbit Month or 2. And 2 WFB Months.
So DA will either be a small releas in Jan or Feb or there will be non. :(

    2. All signs point to January, so don't loose faith for an Unforgiven release soon!

    3. I wouldn´t be surprised if they hold them back until next Gamesday Uk in sep. 2013!

Rumors are not exactly reliable these days
unless they are WD leaks a week before the actuall releas.

      :/

    4. Please let M.Ward.Shyamalan write the ork codex.
      Introducing, the ORK MARINES.
Ard boyz -> Ork Marines 3+Sv
      Tellyportas -> Terminators with Shunt
New BattleWagon -> New ork flyer with Deff From Above! rule that lets it vector strike with the deff rolla.

  3. it does seem a bit late for them to Finally release these kits. but then what do i care i play LATD, i'll just turn these things into Technicals anyway and sell the drivers/gunners.

    1. A bit late? lol, it took more than a decade following the demise of the armorcast battlewagon to get a new one...

  4. Would be interesting if they made WD rules for skyfiring buggies. Would be more appealing imo.

Would it really make much of a difference to BS 2 units. The model would look cool though.

    2. as the FW flakk guns aren't twin-linked like the aegis quad guns they so closely resemble...then no it wouldn't make a difference.

    3. Yeah, but they have interceptor, which is always awesome.

  5. 'Price rise expected.'

That doesn't belong in this post as its not a rumor, its fact.

  8. i could understand a price increase on battleawagon if it included deff rolla AND all the other options

    1. It will never include 4 rokkit launchas. And that's it actually. All of the other options like the big gun and the 4 unique smaller big guns are in.
What we need is a BattleWagon Crusader.
A rack of three twin-liked big shootas on each side, a TL-SoopaShoota on the top and an assault ramp in the front full of spikes so that when the orks are about to assault, the ramp squashes everything underneath it.

  10. I actually would be very surprised if we see new Ork releases without a new codex. Especially if they are before Tau or Eldar.

    1. They do model waves all the time. There's no reason to doubt it.

    2. A new ork codex would be awesome! I have no intentons of playing orks, but i'd love to see them on the table more often.

    3. But the 'current' buggies and traks are so fugly, I'm pretty sure they're the oldest models in the entire 40k, or at least they look it!

      Delete
    4. I had one of those Ork buggies when I played as a teenager first time round, so they must've been about for a good 15 years or so. Quite impressive in a way that they've kept them going for so long without an update.

    5. Eldar special characters and jetbikes (and the leman russ battle tank) are several years older. The ork buggies and tracks came from gorkamorka (1997 iirc) and the phoenix lords were winning golden demons in 1994. Some blood angels and dark angels characters still date back to codex: angels of death (about 96, possibly 95, certainly it was before gorkamorka). That is just off the top of my head, there may be others.

    6. Just recalled as I posted that the buggy is older than gorkamorka.... Still newer than the eldar models or leman russ though. Have the ork bikes been updated yet?

      Delete
    7. Ork bikes yes and they're gorgeous (in an orky way)
The leman russ has the advantage of a timeless look as opposed to 'classic' ork goofiness. Fair enough on the eldar front though, although I still like Maugan Ra. I guess buggies are to orks what jetbikes are to eldar!

    8. I dont play orks anymore but i still have a set of metal buggies/scorcha/traks from early 3rd edition and a set of plastic gorkamorka/40k buggies from late 3rd edition. The old metal scorcha and buggy and traks are awesom they are so small and easy to hide. I even have several old armorcast ork vehicles but those are the definition of fugly models.

  11. the buggy hails from 2nd ed. I know this. I think the trakk too.

I am hopeful for a demons-like update for the new units.

    1. The buggy, skorcha and trak are from 2nd edition i still have several of the original metal versions. Still cooler looking then the newer plastic versions.

  12. I'm still not keen on the idea of a tankbusta/flash git kit. Flash gits are supposed to be nobz, not runty boyz! They'd have to be extra piratey for my taste, orks need more freebooterz if they're out dating half of the range (of two :P)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Unless tankbustas are nobz now. Or flash gitz are boyz. But you are correct, it wouldn't work at all right now. So poopeye to that rumor.

      Delete
    2. Flash gitz are THE shooty nobz (as opposed to other choppy nobz) so tankbustas as all nobs wouldn't make much sense. They're also rich (hence flash) and ork currency comes from growing it or taking it from someone who can, nobz have the muscle to take them and their teeth grow faster. Bad moons are the most common source of flash gitz because they grow teeth fastest out of the clans, so they can afford the snazz guns that are pretty much the trademark weapon. I know it's just a bunch of toy soldiers at the end of the day but I have a soft spot for the background, especially with orks.
