  1. Called it. Hehe.
It is interesting to see variant armours, it also gives some indication of how various Legions could get upgrade packs,
I guess shoulder plates with Legion Symbols for Cataphractii, Tartaros, Indomitus as well as the various power armour marks will be in the offering.

    Very nice models.

  2. I really wish we could get Forgeworld stuff here in the US more easily. They have excellent models that are so cost prohibitive to order from the UK. I have a feeling many of my armies would look completely different if the access had been easier.

    1. yeah if FW's prices wheren't so high they'd proably be able to sell a lot more

    2. You could always move to Australia, our regular GW prices are so high that buying Forgeworld variants is often cheaper than going down to the local store for normal models.

    3. I think $1 more is an excellent deal on a pre-heresy Rhino!

  3. Take my Money.......Awesome !!!!!
THX FW!!! Those Termis are absolutley PERFECT! And YES I'll field some Death Guard......

  4. It's fist time I ever wanted to field some Death Guard. Absolutely astonishing models, love them. Now I can only hope FW to make more pre-heresy Indomitus/Tartaros (really don't like Cataphractii' look) terminators for Chaos Legions.

    1. Oh, and BTW, to all DA players (especially to A.):
that is how 40K DeathWing's bone-white should be painted. Seeing all those crazy-white variations of DW-termi-hordes makes me sick already ;-)

    2. What looking dirty rusted and ill maintained i think not we r the first legion for a reason. But i do like the deathshroud miniatures they r awesome

    3. I agree with Will Harris, to me that isn't even bone white, that just looks like regular white thats dirty. Personally I do mine like the DV set, that's a true Bone White.

    4. Snakebite leather, bleached bone and skull white. Only way to go.... just go down to my local store and get some..... tits

    5. Rust? Where? That is bone-white armour with dust, scratches and attrition after extensive exploitation, as I see it. Maybe your I-st Legion nurses are trained to maintain their armour virginal clean anywhere? :P

    6. Even the DA armour should not be pure white. It was supposed to be tribal paint, chalk and whatnot mixed in pots, applied in a hurry over the pre-existing dark paint scheme per the short story Deathwing, WHICH IS THE LITERAL TRUTH AND NOT A METAPHOR WARD DAMMIT. Ahem. Excuse me.

Think the quickly applied winter camo on WW2 tanks (especially on the Eastern Front) and you'll get the idea how it would have looked like, perhaps slightly translucent in places, maybe not covering it entirely, and definitely washing away and weathering very easily. And since the DA wanted to keep that look to honour the Deathwing's sacrifice, once the original warpaint wore off, they would not have painted it in "quality" paints but renewed it with similarly applied simple pigments. Likewise, any new Tactical Dreadnought armour would have been given a black (or dark green) paint and the warpaint applied on top of it.

  5. I wonder which power weapons those scythes would be in regular 40k. Thoughts?

    1. Typhus' scythe is an axe, so I'd say an axe also

      Delete
    2. Under the description for Power Axe it says axe or halberd, so you can pretty much assume any bladed weapon with a long hilt that isn't a spear/lance. Daggers are considered swords too.

      Delete
    3. Heresy rules are basically axe (but two-handed with a special attack option) so axe rules should be fine!

  6. Want want want want.

  7. Sometimes I think about the ways that scythe is a terrible war weapon. Then my internal inquisitor burns the thought with a flamer and says a blessing to the god emperor.

    1. Your internal inquisitor can take a break, deathshroud all pack their own flamers for burning those who question their scythes :P

  8. This might have slipped under your radar, Natfka and everyone else, but if you look at the Horus Heresy Miniatures showcase on the ForgeWorldvisualfeed, the first thing they show for Sons of Horus is a squad of black Cataphractii armoured Justaerin Terminators. If Deathshroud tempt you towards Death Guard, Justaerin will certainly tempt you towards Sons of Horus or Black Legion.

    1. Another one you mght have missed is the FW's release of the squad packs, just check New Stuff on the FW website. Pretty cool idea, definetly encourages me to buy them.

  10. think there will be anything special for world eaters? im having a hard time choosing which army to choose, between world eaters and sons of horus

    1. World Eaters will get rampagers, basically bezerkers in 30k.

  11. Hey, thats the same scythe design as Typhus's Manreaper. i like it when they do that

    1. Pretty much any Deathguard from sergeant upwards can take them, they're standard equipment now (then?)!

  12. Seriously, FW deserves better painters. I can understand that for whatever reason you want to give traitors a dirty, ugly and unprofessional look, but what about the legion champion and master of signal? They look very similar to my first painted miniature and I was ten years old.

    1. Can't comment in the champion or Master of signal but the above are Deathguard who were always dirty, hence becoming nurgle like vain emperors children -> slaanesh

    2. You know nothing of sales and marketing, aren't you? These are perfectly painted demo miniatures, they illustrate awesome models and good table-top level painting skill (with usage of FW weathering powders of course), instead of GW show off minies these ones are painted in different style, more real-life-like, I'd say. Always loved FW show cases, near perfect for me. If shown painted at pro-level, worthy for any collector, same miniatures sales could be lower twice, who want to buy a mini and not be able to paint it [good enough]?
