  5. Wow I just wish I could read that stuff!

    1. Just type it into Google Translate. You may even be surprised to find out that Google actually translates the word Tiranidi as "tyranids". I was impressed by that.

    2. I want to read everything though! Information is victory!

  6. Nice, the tervigon isn't too different from mine (although I haven't finished the GS work on its underbelly) mine may even be bigger because i used scything talons instead of rear legs (picture be damned, I wanted my tervy to look horrifying)

So...Is that the flyrant in the last pic, and if so, is it a different kit from the tyrant/swarmlord, or are there just multiple tail configurations?

I have a HT with wings already, but i may buy one of both of these....maybe 2 tervigon boxes, just cause

    1. In the released list above, it mentions only a "tyrant/swarmlord" entry, implying that the winged tyrant will be part of the same kit.

    2. Not flyrant but HARPY!!

      Delete
    3. The Harpy wasn't in the release list and if you look the model doesn't have twin linked weapons and the head is very hive tyrant looking.

  7. My two armies are Nids and Wolves. My hands are shaking lol

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah, these are the two armies I play and I love them both! This is going to be friggen awesome!

  9. The winged creature looks too much like a harpy to be a Hive Tyrant... but I could be wrong.

    1. I am pretty sure that it is a Hive Tyrant. Not just from the release list, but by trying to piece together the page scans.

The hive tyrant/ swarmlord models are on the same page as the winged model.

    2. Oh. Now that I look at it more I think you are right. I didn't see the legs so (to me) it looked like a legless long tailed flyer. Seeing it on a larger screen, it most definitely is a HT.
      My bad.

  10. nah it's just a hive tyrant with wings. (as you can up grade him this way). Also harpy's head is different to that hes got a spike coming of the back of is head.

    ReplyDelete

    1. plus the harpy is supposed to be close in size and body to a trygon.

    2. also very true

  11. I never thought I would see teh day! I guess this means that GW resolved the legal issues concerning these models.

They do look good, but the one thing that I am wondering about is the winged tyrant. I like them keeping to teh 6 limbed theme, BUT, what if you wanted your winged tyrant to have two sets of weapons (say lash whip and bonesword, and devourers)? It looks like the feet could be passed off as sything talons, but what about other load outs?

I doubt that GW would patch up the rules such that one set of weapons must be replaced with wings?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. those look like scything talon legs, i wonder what the kit looks like, you may have feet weapon options for all the weapons...

      Delete
    2. If they don't it would be easy enough to mount weapons on wings (especially since the kit is all plastic now). Want 2xtwinlinked devourers? Throw em on the top of the wing. Thats how they did it at forgeworld for the harridan.

  12. im kinda glad there was no Parasite of Mortrex model released, I built mine out of a tyranid warrior body and really didn't feel like having a duplicate lol.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Is it only me who really isn't that excited about them? Thanks to the Chapterhouse issues GW has really had to wait too long to release these. Frankly people have made better third party thunderwolves for comparable prices.

Both kits will sell but there are a lot of decent conversions out there that are very similar.

Obviously GW has already spent the money to design these so they have to release them but it's a "meh" from me.

Sorry to be the party pooper!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I play both nids and wolves. I'd have to agree that some of the excitement is mitigated by the long wait and side products released/conversions already done etc. But in all honesty those wolves look incredible to me! They nailed the tervigon. The hive tyrant in plastic is kind of meh since i have 2 metal ones, but still a nice addition. I think the more I look at the releases the better they look.

  14. Dear GW,

Thank you for the new models, but it is a tad bit late.

PS: new models do not help the nerfing you did to the codex

  15. I'm no tyraniD player but those r some cool models.

  16. 2012 must be the end of the world...GW actually listened to the community about these waves

  21. Thin plastic glue - more like my fave humbrol glue?
Thick super glue - good for certain uses, but i prefer the normal thin stuff.

  22. Anyone else notice lashwips and bone swords are sold seperatly?

    ReplyDelete
  23. So glad i already have wolves

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yay finally. These new models are rekindling my love for both armies, thanks naftka for the images and thanks GW for finally releasing them :)

  25. Can any one confirm, is the Red Terror in the newest Nids Codex? He states there isn't one in the newest or previous dex, but was in the one before that. Not that I do not believe him, just odd to see a model and it is not in the dex.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No Red Terror in 5th edition codex. The model is most likely the old one but reproduced in Finecast. Similarly this will be the same for Old One Eye, just 3rd edition model in finecast.

Which I suppose means that there will be no release of 5th edition Old One Eye model based upon the 5th edition sculpt. Not a biggy really, as it is easy to assemble using the 5th edition carnifex pack (using the regeneration head and crushing claws).

A dedicated model with a slightly different scultp wuld be nice, but probably not cost effective for GW.

      Delete
    2. especially considering how overcosted and underwhelming Old One Eye is in the rulebook. Look at his rules - the fact that he can't benefit from living battering ram because he has crushing claws (face palm) is lame.

      Delete
  26. He hasn't had rules since 3rd edition Nids. He is mentioned on the ravener page of the 5thed, but no rules

It says 3 "pairs" of boneswords and 3 lash whips+ 3 boneswords. No single packs of lash whips and boneswords.
