On the 40k Anniversary if you happen to head down to your local hobby center, meaning GW store, you will be able to get your hands on a few things announced yesterday by Games Workshop. Here is the post.

The date for the Warhammer 40,000 anniversary party is fast approaching, and with just over a week to go before the big day we thought we'd take a look at the cool memorabilia that you can get from your local Hobby Centre on the day. The first and most obvious thing to get your hands on is the special edition miniature based on the original Rogue Trader artwork. If you haven't seen it already, check out this blog post where you can see it from every angle. This model has proven so popular that we are now sold out in every country, save for a scant few that managed to make their way to our Australian warehouse earlier in the week (you lucky people!). That means the only way to get this model now is from a Games Workshop store on Saturday 25th February and there won't be many of them there either, so you'll have to be there early if you want to get one.

But that's not all. We've also got several other goodies, including a mouse mat, rubber bracelets, a 420mm x 297mm poster of the original Rogue Trader artwork (featuring the aforementioned Crimson Fist) and a commemorative 25th anniversary pewter pin badge. Much like the special edition Space Marine, they will only be available in our stores on the 25th February, not before and certainly not after (because there will be none left).

To find out what your nearest Games Workshop Hobby Centre is doing for the Warhammer 25th anniversary, make sure you check out their Facebook page for more information or head into the store and chat to the staff about what they've got going on.

  2. Sure you've seen that before! GW will post it anywhere and everywhere because as we say in the TV world: Repetition works, repetition works, repetition works...etc

  3. Man, that's pretty weak tea. One limited release model and a livestrong bracelet, a poster, and a pin? Come on GW! You guys can do better swag than that! I would pay for more interesting stuff, but this isn't enough to bring me out on the day of.

    1. Craptacular stuff! Yeah! That's what I want!

Since Repetition Works from the above post... not a good 25th 40K anniversary year ahead of us. I would have gone for a special case, sigh...

    2. Why does Games Workshop hate their customers so much?

We put up with their price rises. We put up with their finecast when plastic would be better, multipart kits more so. We put up with their paranoid secrecy. We put up with them never completing our miniature ranges.

They just take our money, and take a great big dump on our heads! Rubber bracelets! Mouse mats! A stinkin' poster!

If you ask me, Games Workshop can take these things and shove 'em right up their..............!

    3. Ok, then stop buying their products. Shouting on message boards isn't exactly getting your point across.

    4. Nope, it just helps to get the frustration out with people who understand your issues man! So quit raining on our parade! ;)

    5. The point: They could have done better.

      Like what?

Models of the Emperor, Malcador the Sigilite, all the Primarchs and some WD rules for them. I think apocalypse datasheets.

Perhaps, as a treat, the corpse Emperor in the golden throne and the daemon Primarchs. Naturally the daemon Primarch rules would have to be added.

I've many other ideas but I believe, since the Heresy series of books and Forge Worlds armours, this is what a lot of players want.

    6. Just a model of one of the above would do fine. I hate that limited edition model... More Space Marines!
@Anonymous: If we stop buying products the prices go up even more...

    1. What with all the paranoid secrecy going on at GW HQ.

    2. Indeed although I think it is impossible 6th edition could be up for advance order next week. GW is loving the secrecy at the moment though they are slowly improving in my opinion only of course.

    3. Keep in mind that GW has been asked to show secrecy from Peter Jackson and the Hobbit/LotR people because of the movies currently being filmed. It's part of their agreement if I remember correctly.

Once those movies are out I expect the secrecy to be a lot less.

    4. I would agree but secrecy for LoTR means nothing for the fantasy and 40k that was something I read a while back here and it just looked so someone trying to make sense of it and badly in my opinion.

    5. I've read the Hobbit. Three times if I remember correctly. I know what it's about, what happens during the book, and how it ends.

      Secrecy? You want secrecy?

Take all the books off the shelves.
Kill anyone who has ever read the book.
Kill anyone who knows anyone who has read the book.

By the way, I realise I'm on the hit list.

    6. Actually you do bring up another point I stupidly missed, what would the film makers want hidden from the public that could ruin their film? The book is easy to acquire, the general story is common knowledge to many.

Is the look within the film that important? it does feel like a stretch to me.

    7. @Thorson: S***! They'll be after me any seco...*BANG* ... Damn.
Why the secrecy? Unless they've made some changes in the film, in which case they will die...

  6. And it is another fu to people like me who has the closest GW store 6 hours away in Chicago.

  7. Hey, come to Australia. We have extra LE Miniatures, 'cause they sent us extras. Or is it no-one pre-ordered them 'cause they're twice the price down here. Grrr. Rant. Complain. Now I'm really glad I'm not in New Zealand.
