There are a few clarifications to the latest Dark Angel Rumors, so I figured we had best get them down, as there was some cloudiness on what they exactly meant. So here they are, specifically about the new Reaper Cannon and some Plasma Gun options.

Please remember that these are rumors, from playtest material.

Raven's Claw is apparently a nickname or playtest name of the fighter, sounds like this is not the final name.

The snapfire only applies to this rumored reaper cannon on the fighter when firing "full auto" as a Heavy 12 cannon to balance it. Again, according to playtest notes.

TL plasma guns on some models will make their way to standard C:SM
Bikes exchange 2 for 1 on attack bikes, its not a max unit of 14 marines, its a max unit of 10 marines always.

Gunners taking new weapons is not taking away from the other existing options on landspeeders, and I did not mean to imply it.

These are the rumors to which the clarifications were meant for.... just in case you missed them.
TROOPS:
Deathwing Terminators - Same general layout as we have now, but with additional Plasma Cannon and Autocannon heavy weapon options.

Tactical Squads - The old classics we all love, moving on...

Ravenwing Bike Squad - Up to ten bikers, for each 5 bikes, you may upgrade one to an Attack bike.  Attack bike gunner options are: HB, MM, HF, Twin-linked Plasmagun!. Squad can Combat Squad and has Teleport Homers.

FAST ATTACK:
Ravenwing Landspeeder Support Squad - Same as now, but gunner option are: HB, MM, HF, Twin-linked Plasmagun!

Ravenwing Bike Support Squad - Full Attack Bike unit (this might also be a duplicate report of the TROOPS Bike Squad)

Assault Squad - Same old classic jump-pack squad we have now.

Ravenclaw Air Superiority Fighter - Dual "Reaper Cannons" allowing Snap Shots on flyers. Can be replaced with 2x Missiles, or 2x Plasma Cannons.

  1. I still don't really feel as though I understand what it is he's trying to share. The plasma guns in C:SM doesn't suprise me to be honest.

  2. As I said on Warseer, the release date is between 15 January and 15 February.
The spam of plasma is beacuse the Azrael's rule for re-roll the Gets Hot is like a Chapter Tactic, then is adopted by all the army. This rule ca be taken by all the QG (not special characters) for a lot of points.

    1. It's nice to see Slithering got the first 6e codex. I don't think Ravenclaw will be op, it's when they redo the Gryffindor.

    1. Not if you can replace the storm bolter with the autocannon for free.

    2. For free would be a bit ridiculous

    3. ML, HB and MM are all free for 10 man tac squads, could be the same with the term troops squad

    4. its free coz they cos a lot.. they sounds like 170pts for 10!! its not very cheap.

    6. Yes but sure the terminators would be 415 for 10 so a free auto wouldn't be unreasonable by that standard

    7. CML will probably be 30 points like in later codexes. AC will probably be 10 or 15 but yes, the CM will be worth the difference in cost.

I'm interested to see how they cost plasma cannons.

    8. if the Autocannon is free I think I'm going to hurl, Chaos pay heavily for theirs and don't even get access to better options like the assault cannon or CML.

    9. Also, CSM has a twin-linked autocannon, which is why it costs so much. An autocannon without TL'd is really, really cheap. Practically free, and way cheaper than quite a few other options for CSM.

If DA get an autocannon for the same price as the HF option, I'd have no problem with that. I would have a problem if it was free. That's just lame. Although, since our Liege Lord is writing this 'dex, I wouldn't be surprised.

    10. Some heavy weapons are free for Tacticals because they can only snap fire on the move - Terminators are relentless, so heavy weapons cost. Reaper Autocannon is 25 points for Chaos Termies so...

  6. Autocannons are nasty + they are cheap as chips. Had a small game against my mate - marines v chaos and he had a 5 man havoc squad with 4 autocannons, the things ripped me apart

  7. hahaha, so in the end the DA-exclusive-plasma-nonsense will find its way into vanilla SM codex? sounds vaguely familliar to what happened to 4th ed DA codex and 5th ed SM codex: everything copied, only better ;)

    1. Yeah I hear you there about that, I am hoping they keep the extra plasma percs strictly to the Dark Angels.

    2. Maybe gives us cheaper plasma weapons? But I agree, it makes me said to see that they already plan on rolling changes from an unreleased codex in to another unreleased codex.

  8. What about jetbikes... sniff sniff... nothing particularly special in the list so far.

    2. Eat plasma Rau! ;)

"The present Master of the Ravenwing, Master Sammael rides to war on a jetbike, an ancient war machine from the days of the Great Crusade. Armed with a ferocious Plasma Cannon, the jetbike is feared almost as much as Sammael himself."

  9. Bear in mind even if they roll the DA plasma options into the next C:SM, DA still have the rerolls for "Get's Hot!" if the rumors are correct. Vanilla Marines are supposed to have the capacity to do everything. That's what makes them Vanilla Marines. But they're not the best at anything. That's what separates them from Blood Angels (with assault) and now Dark Angels (with plasma rerolls).

  10. You have 10 bikes(thats whole models). You upgrade 2 of them to attack bikes. You now have 8 bikes and 2 attack bikes. Thats still 10 whole models. I dont get the confusion around this...

    1. I think you are still confused. His revision was trying to explain that two models would be replaced by the attack bike. So going from 10 men, 10 models to 10 men 9 models (8 bikes and an attack bike) or 10 men 8 modles (6 bikes and 2 attack bikes).

      Delete
    2. It's because the two attack bikes have two wounds. So technically people are courting that as two marines per attack bike, for a total of 12 in the unit.

      Delete
  11. Well, but the squad is then 12 Marine, isn't it? So in Order to have a bike Squad fo 10 Bickers it would be 6 bikes and 2 attack bikes...sounds logical to me....
