    1. That's fine since I've no way to actually order anything from them, being that they have the smallest range of accepted Credit Cards ever (and no paypal!)....

    1. More like an early melta. It's got a peculiar set of ranges (multiples of 5" instead of 6") and the special rule 'Deflagrate' which inflicts extra hits to a squad that's taken wounds. One of the many extra goodies found in the Heresy rulebook.

    2. Volkite weapons are their own special type of weapon, somewhat similar to Necron Tesla weapons.

    3. Dont like the reinventing of fluff.
Just to sell stupid New weapons with rules
      Voxcaster SMs?
Oh pls.... Stick a wire on a SM and call it New -.-

I want OS Speeders , primarches & warlord Titan.
      Not spartan Marines -.-

    4. That voxcaster marine is almost an identical recast of a 1st edition, so no invention there just resurrection - so many complainers

      Delete
    5. For those of us who don't play 30k, those Volkite Calivers would be great to use as plasma guns. If you look at the photos on th FW website of the marines holding them, it really looks like they are using some different model of plasma gun.

  3. I hate Forge World!

So many cool miniatures; not enough money in my wallet!

    I may cry.

  6. Holy cow, this is good, can't wait to see the 5 packs of the other heavy weapons (maybe specials too?), FW is actually cheaper than buying a 5 marine box and resin weapons than buying the Havoc kit for a single autocannon dude. Keen!

  7. Wonderful, ordered some autocannons. Hopefully they fit better for chaos backbacks than the FW Missile Launchers.
Now if I had waited with my bitz order to custom made them I would have saved 8 € too, but oh well.

  8. Am I the only one who would prefer the autocannons with ammo drums and the heavy bolter with the belt?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True
AC is Not that fast shooting. Drum would make more sence

    2. I know I'd rather not have to reload every 5 shots.

  9. I'm loving all this FW gear. Not least in the fact I prefer 30k to 40k. Much prefer 'mankind crusading across the universe' to the 'goffic millenium'. Hoping one day they'll do some really pre heresy stuff like Ullanor campaign book, campaigns maybe even before finding of primarchs so people can field Dusk Raiders and War Hounds. Then they could release all new xeno armies, exodite eldar, feral orc empires...

    1. Second this. Although what I'm really holding out for is a book on the unification wars. I want to field Arik Taranis!

      Delete
    2. Taranis, the Chuck Norris of the Thunder Warriors?

      Delete
  10. Except in 30K pre-imperial planets would get stomped on. With no technology worth a damn games would essentially be 'primarch vs everyone else' like that really silly yet awesome chapter in 'Fulgrim' where fulgrim smashes his way through Ulthwe's entire army and Eldrad. Still not sure how even a primarch can do that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I thought primarchs were apocalypse sized battles only? I've never played apocalypse myself so I wouldn't mind not fielding a primarch... Or if I did - my primarch vs your titan and everything else!

In any event, they can wait until the novels stop selling, declare them non-cannon and nerf fulgrim and co.

  11. I thought they already had MKII armour assault troops. Anyone notice the difference with the latest release?

Also, aren't these painted up as Salamanders? Anticipation of the second book, perhaps?

    1. Different Pistols?
And extra Accessories and different poses and variations of the armour.

Also the Volkite Cavliver set..Are they Blood Angels? Or maybe Word Bearers?

I guess it is 7th Squad or 7th company rather than 7th Legion (who would be Imperial Fists).

Can't remember which Legions were in the Drop-site Massacres

    2. Nice spot! My initial thought too was Word Bearers, since it wouldn't be any of the other legions present: Night Lords, Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors, Salamanders, Raven Guard, Iron Hands, Sons of Horus, World Eaters, Emperor's Children.

The Word Bearers' pre-heresy colour scheme was Black, however, a small elite group (Gal Vorbak) had their armour red, with black shoulder guards.

This must be them. However, they were demonically possessed, and I'm not sure what they're doing here carrying heavy weapons.

      Definitely an intriguing one.

    3. Actually the pre heresy word bearers armour was granite; very dark grey but not black, just to get technical :P

      Delete
    4. If you look at their model gallery video, the red and black marines are grouped together in the Sons of Horus Dioramma. So, I am guessing they are 1st company Catulan Reavers or something. Given that in the BL books the Catulans and Justaerins wear black armour, this might be some variation done by FW

    5. You mean this vid?

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCPCR0nHWK8&list=UUl4yV_tNEKZ4MkUVhiaMVXw&index=1&feature=plcp

The dudes in the red armour aren't there man.

      Delete
    6. No aquilla on the armour

      Delete
    7. Aquilla were worn on the armour of Terran Vets (and a few favoured heros). It was not until much later in the Heresy that it became a sign used on loyalists' Armour to indicate said loyalty.

It is interesting to see how Forge World are updating and incorporating alot of the original background and material from Rogue Trader and the Early days of 40k.

I am awaiting the Colossus, Conquerer, Cataphract, Crusader and Castellan Robots. Not to mention Furibundus and Deredo class dreadnoughts ;D

      Anurien

      Delete
    8. There's more classes of dreadnoughts? I wouldn't mind some more types of terminator armour either.

      Delete
    9. 'Legion' versions of the infantry sets (both Tactical and Assault) have different poses than the previous sets. So you could buy both and get some real variety in the look of your squads.

      Delete
  12. The Autocannons are ugly and unfinished looking. The Guard HW team model is so much better. And right now in 40K only Havocs can use them?

    So...meh.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Am I the only one who is wondering what kind of arms are compatible with these autocannons?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Both the autocannons and hevay bolter sets use a clever underslung arrangement so the standard models can hold them or the standard bolter.
      No special arms needed.

  14. Is it just me or FW figures not that well painted?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think FW runs to a 'eavy metal team...

      Delete
    2. most painted models shown on the FW are the design teams own personal armies.
for the heresy thou, i think the FW design team are painting models for the pictures, but most are still from peoples personal armies.

  15. I wonder if they'll do pre-heresy techmarine miniatures? They've got apothecary and command squads, be nice if they added the mechanic.

Unless they're waiting for book two, Iron Warriors and Warsmiths?
