I have another one for you this afternoon that corroborates this mornings release schedule. The more we see, the more August is really looking like the date. August 4th to be precise.

via Faeit 212 inbox
a local gw store had put a event calendar online and removed it some hours later. It might be, because for August 4th it stated "Codex release party", which would concur with the newest rumors. Maybe this helps.

  1. I wish my GW would stay in the loop. Hell one of the workers didnt even know there was a store tournament a day I went. :P. But like usual THEY DONT HAVE SPECIAL INFO! probably saw it on here actually ;)

  2. wish people would grab images of these things before they are removed or what not... that way when we post the image we can get a call from GW saying hey please remove it and then we have 100% proof! Yeah I know, never happen! lol

    1. Speaking of English - the word you are looking for is "corroborates".

    2. We knew what you meant :). Besides, maybe he did mean collaborating rumors. Maybe, just maybe, the rumors are starting to take hold of their own destiny and plan to throw off the shackles of oppression forced upon them by their internet overlords.

  3. Good to see more hints of 'sooner-than-later'. I hope GW is reading through this stuff and realizes how much we fans really want Chaos Marines. Not that it'll change anything, but it'd be nice to know that they know that we're excited for this. Y'know?

  4. I sure hope GW isn't goading us on just to release some flyers and call it a month.

    1. I'd be fine with that so long as there was a Tau flyer in there. Then again, I only play Tau and Eldar so....

    2. So you already have access to awesome flyers for both of your armies? You have heard of GW's other scuplting studio, right?

    3. Forgeworld =/= official codex units

      Delete
    4. Why is that even an issue, Anon? Forge World usually has some really nice models.

      Delete
    5. It's an issue because the models are super expensive and you need to buy super expensive IA books to use them properly, and THEN you have to find an opponent willing to let you play them (since currently they won't see tourney play).

    3. except Nids this edition don't suck. Not great, they just aren't as bad as 5th.

    4. Atrotos - *Sends some fermented biomass over to the 'nid corer... just in case!*

    5. Death,

As far as I can tell, Nids got better, but less so than every other codex except for Daemons, so everyone is better, Nids are just as bad, and Daemons are slightly more screwed.

    6. I'll just put some faith in Kelly. Now, any Chaos codex that is not 3.5 is by default of dubious nature, but I dearly hope this one will manage to deliver a bit more of that old Traitor Legion feeling from the older editions instead of the Renegade-like 4th ed. Codex.

    7. I beat wholesale ass with the 'nid codex the last couple of weeks. I would say 'nids are doing much better. It all rests in that Psyker department though. Have the Swarmlord with Biomancy and a Tervigon with three psyker powers in Telepathy (he can only use powers 1-4 since he is mastery lvl 1). You are guaranteed excellent power selection.

    8. If you like extremely random effects then you'll like the new book.

If you want predictable, consistent, rules ... well....

    9. The next Codex CANNOT get worse. I'll even allow Matt Ward to write the fluff of the next Codex, because the rules and options cannot get more barebones, bland, boring, and non-competitive.

      Delete
    10. Are you sure it can't get worse?

    11. Well, that codex (3.0) had Doomrider in it. That alone makes it better than the current one.
All kidding aside (though I love Doomrider), Chaos right now is not bad, just utterly bland and cookie-cutter. More renegade pirate marine than millenia-old, 'original traitor' marine.
It's not terribly surprising that people like me (Deathguard, Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors) felt kind of pissed after the brilliant, if unbalanced, 3.5 codex was replaced by boring 4.0 and did away with all our most beloved toys like Plague Terminators, Noise Havocs and Chaos Basilisks.

  6. You know if I were a GW store manager desperate to make quota with 'the MAN' breathing down my neck that's exactly the kind of thing I would "let slip."

We know the GW employees don't get anything more than we do, why are we still listening to these sources? How the hell do you "accidentally" post something confidential on a release schedule anyway?

    2. problem with that is it could backfire on em, I know I'm holding off buying more chaos minis for my army till I can get the book and know what I'll want

Absolutely. No way am I buying the three Forgeworld Dreads I want for my nurgle army till I know they are in the codex.

      Delete
    4. Agreed. I haven't bought a Chaos model since the new Daemon Prince became available. I've even sold off some of my big stuff (Land Raider, Defiler, Vindicator) a year or two ago when Chaos was just looking super bland and boring. When the new Codex comes out, AND ONLY THEN, will I start to collect again. Unfortunately, since I don't know when everything is coming out, I may decide to spend my money on other things, and not properly save for the release of Chaos. I might buy a new video game in that period of time and then not be able to purchase the new Terminator kit coming out... Your loss GW.

  7. How about we just wait for new releases when they come and just enjoy plaing the game. We should not be worrying about when and what is going to come rather than praying Mat Ward does not have any input in it. If everything was reeled at once no would have anything to look forward to... Plus we have just had a new rulebook, we more do you want this year?

    1. Then why are you on a RUMOR site?

      Delete
    2. I take it you're not a Chaos player, or one of the other armies that are currently burdened with a poor codex. I've been looking forward to ditching this poor excuse of a Chaos codex for the 2 years since I started playing. The sooner I can, the better. Every little drop I receive from Faeit helps to sustain my hope until I can get the new codex and models in my hands.

    3. I started playing 40k about 5 months ago choosing csm as my army. I agree that the present codex is meh at best. Then 6th ed came out and made my berzerkers more useless and the faq totally screwed my daemon prince as well as Abaddon. It was written very rigid and unbending with very little customization uvailable. But honestly I am glad I went with my traitors all the same, because it forced me to reliy more on strategy and less on stacks of cheese. Except my first few games, I have been undefeated since. 4 months straight, 2-3 times a week, kicking butt whether it be GK, Tau,etc. I've heard every army described as broken, and I have to say "Learn your enemies strength and weaknesses and exploit!
On a side note though, I am very happy with the prospect of fielding my possessed in a capacity other than bullet catchets! May it reign chaos in August!

  8. Mat ward writes excellent codexes :P. And while we know local gws know nothing, it's more fun to argue about a rumor than have nothing at all. Just remember to stay positive :)

    1. I actually agree about Matt Ward, i know people gripe about him, but even though some armies are currently incredibly strong, they are incredibly fun to play against, and let me tell you, tabling grey knights with the current chaos space marines provided for the most satisfying victory i've had since my first victory

  9. Just a thought, but considering the fact that the WD got pushed back, it's possible the Calendar event was removed to be rescheduled for the later date...

  10. My local GW facebook page has a "First Contact" event on the 4th.
    "First Contact!
This is your first chance to see, touch, taste and play with August’s new releases!

10am-2pm: Hobby Time with the new releases: To be decided 28/7/12

3pm Onwards: New Release Game– To be decided on White Dwarf Launch (28/7/12)"

    1. Yeah facebook seems to be the place for accidental breaches. I don't think they would make such a fuss about finecast releases. I reckon it's still to early for the starter set. Could be new flyers though.

    2. That doesn't actually say anything! Everyone knows something will be realeased on the 4th, and you get to see, hobby and play with it as soon as we find out what it is.
      Zero new information content!

  15. Deamons, according to some sights, are getting a WD update after the new figure come out on the 28th, And many people have said that Deamons will appear, then the new Chaos Space Marine codex, then the starter set, then a Dark angel one. I'd put the Chaos one in august along with massive starter set hype, september will be starter set and Dark angel codex soon after, then the flyer release in October, with maybe Eldar taking November spot, then as always december will be the army boxes, and if Chaos space marine and Dark angel's are codex release, there your two armys for the 40k, with the empire release and vampire count releases this year, they 'might' be your fantasy (GW have often had 2 main armies for each format getting a codex release or major release)
Local GW's don't get info on new relases, just dates for the next month. They're probably emailed 'Codex release August 4th' with no info on what's what.
