Now we have the still images that are flashed by in this video. This is definitely Chaos Daemons. I can't see them doing a whole video for a release without a codex. The must be updating the entire codex in a White Dwarf. Talking about throwing us for a loop here.

In August, the immortal legions of the Ruinous Powers - the Chaos Daemons - will pour forth once more from the Realm of Chaos to drown the Warhammer world and the galaxy of the 41st Millennium beneath a tide of blood and destruction. Even now, mystics are assailed by nightmarish visions of horror and death, the fractured minds of madmen echo with sibilant whispers, and the doomed clutch symbols of their weak gods closer to them.
A host of incredible new Citadel miniatures for both Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Daemons armies and Warhammer Daemons of Chaos armies will soon be released upon mortal battlefields. All will be revealed in July here on the Games Workshop website and in August's issue of White Dwarf magazine, so keep an eye out for more information.

OK. Finally with a little bit of caffeine I was able to catch the flashing images. They are definitely Chaos Daemons of Slanaesh and other daemons in the pics. Here is are the still shots via Hooligan Seth on GW-Fanworld.net

  1. It looks like daemons, but I agree, weird to do a video without a codex. We'll see soon enought though!

    1. could be a vid only for finecast rereleases :D

    2. Nah, they have yet to do a video for any of the previous fine cast re-releases. It would seem like a waste of funds to me. I would gamble my money on a WD Codex for Daemons.

  3. Looks like some sort of:
    Beast of Nurgle
    Plaguebearers
    Deamonettes
    Big Hulking Greater Daemon/Soulgrinder

  4. I would say it is most definatley Deamons. No new artwork though by the looks.

  5. Wasn't there a rumour going round about that WD was delayed because they were sneaking in a WD update for Daemons in both 40k and fantasy? This would seem to corroborate it.

  6. Lets hope the daemon spawned warp can still chuck out a Tau Flyer for august as well.

It only took a couple of minutes to export the video from 'Tubes and pass it through Avidemux frame-by-frame to look at those easter eggs. ;)

    3. It's the art from the codex of the soul grinder.
      In order of those pictures;
      1. Bloodletter
      2. Soul Grinder
      3. Beast of Nurgle
      4. Plaguebearer
      5. Daemonette
      6. Bloodthirster

All from a mix of the WHFB and 40k Codex.

  8. Could they be:

    Bloodthirster
    Lord of Change
    Keeper of secrets
    ??????
    Papa Nurgle

Wouldn't they be leading a CSM army?

      Daemonettes
      Plaguebearer
      Beast of Nurgle

I am happy with either as I need CSM and Daemon updates, as well as WHFB daemon updates.

  10. Anyone else find it odd that with all these new rumors for Daemons we haven't heard much of anything on Furies? Their models are just as dated as plaguebearers and just as big of a pain the ass to buy.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  11. Anyone else notice that those are all images from the 5th edition chaos daemons codex .......

    1. It looks like some of them are from the 7th edition wfb army book as well.

  12. Think it will be more of a codex update to some rules/units than a completely new codex but still, interesting to see what they do with them. Not that I care much about daemons but will be interesting if they become viable to use as allies for my chaos army.

  13. "As if a million Chaos Space Marine players all cried out in terror…"

lol Sorry CSM players looks like you're back on the waiting list. And all for some models (Plagubearers, furies, etc) that no one is likely to use again because allies give much better options.

Can we still hope for another release within August? Otherwise October is the soonest opening (and what about Fantasy?)

    1. It could very well be that we will see our Chaos Marine codex Sept 1. This was after all one of the rumors that came out last week. Dont give up hopes yet.

    2. Yeah, I've been a CSM player since the middle of second edition, and 5th had my armies shelved for a good portion of it, but I'm still cool with Daemons. With the rules for allies in 6th, I can run fluffy Death Guard armies with real nurgle allies now, so this just makes them stronger (hopefully).

    3. I thought September was the starter box(es)?

  14. They tell you exactly what's going to be released:

"A host of incredible new Citadel miniatures for both Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Daemons armies and Warhammer Daemons of Chaos armies will soon be released upon mortal battlefields."

If there was going to be a new codex, even a WD one they would have mentioned new rules ..

  15. Actually there is supposed to be some updates for WFB Daemons including the supposed addition of the Soulgrinder to WFB.

Furries where rumoured to be getting new plastics a while back but i cant remember where from.

from the most recent rumours the new models are plastics for

    Plaguebearers
    Flamers
    Screamers
    Charriot

from what the guy could remember anyway.

There will also be Finecast Updates for models like Kairos and Epidemius. it was also rumoured a while back (along with plastic Furies that we would get a Finecast model of The Blue Scribes but how much of this is true i dont know)

Chaos WONT be in September as the Starter set will take up that month and October was the original rumoured date for the Chaos codex anyway.

it sucks i know but thats life im afraid.

    1. Plastic Flamers? Why would they release them in plastic when they just did them in finecast?

Not saying I wouldn't want them in plastic. Just finished painting 3 metal flamers. Their arms are a bugger to keep on.

    2. And I can't wait to see the Chaos 'Furries'. Meow.

  16. What's all this "starter set before codex" crap people are stuck on?

Do you know? Are you assuming?

Might I point out the last edition set (again)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It might be Starter Set and Codex CSM too. Especially if they do Cultists or new units. It wouldn't make sense to release new units and have people not being able to use them right away.

      Delete
    2. aren't all the characteristics of the models in the starter set in the mini rulebook? So why would you need a codex first?

      Delete
    3. They wouldn't have put in characteristics for units that haven't been released yet because they don't like people knowing that kind of thing in advance. That aside you need rather more than just characteristic profiles to use units - special rules and point cost are pretty important.

  17. As a daemon player I'm quite excited, particularly for the plaguebearers. They're the hardiest daemon troop (although recently hit hard with a nerfbat) and I've been waiting all this time for a plastic option to add to the rest of my daemons.

I feel the CSM's pain since I'm looking forward to adding a Word Bearer contingent as allies, but I'm far more excited about the new models.

Does anyone know if there will be WD update to 40 Daemons, or just Fantasy?

    1. It says at the top "A disturbance in the warp" and as it's a space background pretty safe to say it's for 40k

    2. Some anon were stating that they do not trust what he was saying, he has no track record, no one knows him or about him or whatever. So they were stating they would ignore what he was saying and everyone should do the same cause what he was saying made no sense. However he devoted 2-3 days answering questions about what was in the new BRB.

People hear bad news about what they were expecting and go all hissy missy.

  21. I'm glad daemons are getting some love as a mate of mine at my local GW store bitches about how the rule book for fantasy nerfs his daemons and how blood crushers are not proper monsterous cav..... argh maybe with a WD update he might have a good thing to say about his army as he is still smarting from 2 units of 30 bloodletters being munched buy one unit of dark elf corsiars XD. Now if only his 'nids got thae same treatment.........
