  1. Any tips on where to get a 6th Ed. BRB from that won't cost the earth?
All the US sellers are charging as much shipping as they are charging for the actual BRB.

    2. You sir, are why they raise prices. Publicly admitting it is shameful.

    3. Did i say i was or was going to? No books that are 400 pages and with much detail as it is a harder stand alone read. Gamer edition is how im going not pdf. But he asked for a cheap solution sooooo....

    4. No, he is the result of raising prices...

In Aus at least we are being charged almost double what the US pays and at the end of the day times are hard so people make tough decisions.

GWS treats its customers like absolute trash and as a result there is no loyalty to stop people doing the wrong thing.

I just didn't buy the last BRB for ages because it was so expensive, I mean as long as someone you know has one you can do without.

    5. Fortunately my wife is getting collecters ed so i can always take a glance at that one too...

    6. Wait Kris, while I don't necessarily condone obtaining the PDF without purchase, how can you say the above poster is the reason for raised prices, and then turn around and say you put off purchasing the BRB in 5th because of the cost and that so long as someone has a copy it's not necessary. Isn't that in effect just as bad, or nearly as bad?

I for one will be getting my copy on the 30th, or a little after. Doubt I'll spring for the collector's (though I desperately want to), I think I peed a little watching that trailer xD.

    7. Err, got mixed up in the post order, disregard the @ Kriswithak part.

    8. Well the part about me waiting to buy because it was expensive is still true.
Arguably you could say it is people like me's fault that prices are going up.
In other words if GWS can't sell everyone a copy they try and sell 70% of people a copy at a 50% premium.

Also when I say I had friends with a copy I mean a real copy, some had the actual BRB others had the miniature version from the starter set.

The problem is that the more prices go up the less people make impulse buys for stuff they don't really need.
I started buying all the codexes until they went past $50 each...
I love having them all to check rules against and I'm a huge fan of books, not ebooks or pdfs (legit or not).

I was going to get the Gamer's edition, it is pretty cool but not at $207.

    9. I refuse to pay over double the US prices for EVERYTHING. If I can't obtain it for free I'll buy it at the lowest prices possible, never from a GW directly.

    10. Maybe move country or wait for certain online stores to sell them?
Yeah, it does suck that we Aussies are on an island that requires a ~100% mark up just so we can get them on our shores.

    11. When I worked at Apple we saw a similar mark up for Aussie customers. I can pretty much guarantee that their are logistical complications at play here and it's 100% out of GW's control. Companies don't normally arbitrarily screw one segment of the customers.

      Delete
    12. It's not entirely out of GW's control.
The main problem is their business model.
For example, in the state of New York, there is only 1 GW store. In a 60mi/100km radius around Brisbane, there are 5 GW stores.
So in NY, there's 1 store to cater for about 20 million people, whereas, in Brisbane, there's 5 stores for about 3 million, i.e. 1 store for every 600,000 people.

They are trying to maintain far too many stores that they simply do not need, many of which are understaffed.
There are more GW stores here than there are Apple stores, and Apple is a significantly bigger company.

    2. Managed to bag myself the Ultimate Edition and the Collectors Edition. I've been told that the Ultimate Edition comes with something cool that isn't mentioned in the description; perhaps a Ultimate Edition Mini :)

Anyway, Ultimate Edition seems to have sold out now, so I'd bag those CE's before they all go.

    3. The... uh... The Ultimate edition has a Collector's Edition in it. It has both books.

You just wasted about $200 getting an extra copy of the CE.

    1. In the Chaos Daemons book a couple Heralds can take chariots.

    2. Yeah, but there they're treated as stat boosts, not vehicles, right?

      Delete
    3. Yeah. For instance when you put a Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot you gain 1T, 3W, &2A. They're a really versatile & durable platform.

I just spent a bunch of money one building two of them, so now I'm worried that I might've just bought a pair of easily busted open-topped skimmers..

  5. Uggg, fold out sections? I have to say that was one of the most pain in the butt things about the Apoc Book. Those pages didn't go back in perfect, they got creased or folded and the whole book puffed up it seemed

  9. Is it not cheaper for Aussies to buy the book from an externally based online retailer and pay shipping? If not, sounds like you have a pretty F-ed up government charging an obseene amount of tax!

    1. Also, I'd be happy to buy any Aussies a copy in the UK where its priced £45 and ship it over to you if it works out cheaper. Can just whack it on an Ebay buy-it-now when both online and you can snap it up that way. You'd have to look at shipping costs though as I wouldn't have a clue.
