Here is the latest 6th edition teaser from Games Workshop..... Its not much but a hint at increased psychic powers and rules in the upcoming edition.

It doesn't take much to get rabid hobbyists like us excited, but this latest video really got the rumour mill turning in the office. We're not sure, but we think the character is some kind of psyker. Is this a sign of things to come? I guess we'll just have to wait until the 23rd...

  1. To be honest, psychic powers have never been something that interests me on the tabletop... In the novels I love it, can't get enough. But in a practical setting it just doesn't have the same appeal.

Since I play necrons, who have no psykers and only 1(shit) method of protection from it, I think I may learn to dislike it.

    1. You're not the only one. If I wanted stupidly overpowered magic powers, I'd play fantasy. Wait, NO ONE PLAYS FANTASY.

    2. I play tau and we have no psykers and no way to stop them.

    3. Fantasy is the most popular game where I game, currently. And the spells really aren't as bad as people make out. Still, everyone's entitled to their own opinions :)
I for one am looking forward to new psycic powers, whichever form they'll take!

    4. @puretide if the rumours about Tau being the only ones that can resist the warp are true then I'd expect the new book to bring them some psychic defense.

If you look at all the new books recently they've got something.

    5. Hi. Daemons have no psykers or psychic defense.
      so, you're not alone.

    6. Right. Where I play, 40k is by far the most popular. I have played a fair few games of Fantasy, though, and the magic is what killed it for me. Spells which can literally destroy half of your army in one magic phase? It's like giving a librarian a Vulcan Mega-Bolter instead of a bolt pistol. Completely unnecessary in standard games and pure overkill.
BTW, although Chaos daemons have collar of Khorne (2++ save against powers IIRC), CSM have no defense against psykers (and now that warptime has been FAQ'd, no decent powers either). :(
So who could this benefit? Stupid question really...

    7. snaleking you don't have psykers because your from the warp and so ur daemonic gifts are your version of psyhic powers plus the defense from them is blessing from the blood god which is a 2+ invulnerable save from woulds caused by psyhic powers or force weapons.

From the fang I do agree with you they will most likly get some form of psyhic defence and I hope not a complete fluff change.

    8. I play Tyranids and I am really looking forward to psychic powers that actually do something.

      Shadow in the Warp ftw.

  2. It is obviously a chaos sorceror and as the light changes you can see the eight pointed star around the the purple thing in his head. the easist point to see is the one on his nose.
So possibly the csm sorceror from the starter set or arhiman rescuplt finally got closer to the black library so threatens the whole galaxy?

    1. Not sure what you are seeing that you see a star of chaos, but it's definitely just a navigator..

  7. There are two lights over his left (viewer’s right) shoulder. Are those someone’s eyes or just part of his armor?

  10. I thought Navigator too! And who are these "no one plays fantasy" people? Sound like some elitist nerds making fun of other nerds... not realizing they're just as nerdy as those they are mocking.

I support nerd in all it's forms... can't we all (square and round bases) just get along!

  11. Doesn't seem one bit Chaotic to me.
I mean, they aren't even depicted as having the 3rd Eye. Neither psyker in the IG codex had an extra eye and acording to wikies, that's a strictly Navigator thing, the Warp Eye.
