That was fast, but Games Workshop managed to get those FAQs out quick and ready for us to play 6th edition. As it comes down on my side of the game, I have been up since I got the book gettining in games. The game has definetly changed, and now its time to hit the faqs. You can find them here.....

  1. The invasion beams for necron scythes is cool. But good thing they said allies dont benefit from their other allies wargear.

    Unrelated but i just finished a 2v2 game750 points. Doomscythe kicked ass as the only flyer.

  4. I am under the impression every missile launcher can fire them, Imperial, Eldar etc, unless I'm mistaken.

    1. You are mistaken, it specifically says in their entry that some units gain the option to buy them, but no army was Errata'd to have that option.

      As far as I can tell Hydra Tanks and the guns you can buy on Fortifications are the ONLY weapons with Skyfire.

    2. Tau's codex removes our epic Target Lock, so no more Targeting multiple vehicles with our Broadsides. You only need 1 Blacksun Filter per squad to negate Night Fight. The Stealth suits get a buff as they loose the 2d6x3 to spot them but gain Shroud and Stealth a +3 to their cover save. Also the changes to Rapid Fire makes Fire Warriors and Krootox nastier.

    3. What you have to remember is its not as great as you think... Enemies will now be able to advance on our troops firing at full range, and snap firing heavy weapons.

    4. Yes that is true, my local meta rarely plays Vanilla Marines at all. We have primarily Blood Angels players that play a primarily Assault Marine heavy or Grey Knights for our "SPEHSS MEHREENS!" players.

    7. Also bear in mind that the +3 cover save for stealth suits translates to a 4+ cover save out in the open! This means they effectively have a 3+ armour save and a 4+ "invulnerable" to non template weapons. You cant be bad to that now can you.

      Stealth suits can infiltrate (and hence outflank). These will be must units for the Tau, so expect to see plenty.

  6. Contradictory alert! Our latest runormonger Grant states that Ahriman is a level 4 psychic mastery in the new codex. However in the CSM FAQ he is listed as level 3 only! What else have his "reliable" sources and he himself been wrong about? Makes me wonder...

  7. Hmmmm i found something odd for chariots....it says in CC the character embarked gets a +1 to his savea. Now if I have a lord with a 2+ save does this mean he cant die. Ir because a roll of 1 aleays fails but tgays redundant. Even if I roll a one i still get plus 1 for a 2. Please someone explain....

    1. If you roll a 1 to save using his Armor save he will still fail because a roll of a 1 to save is always a fail. If your Lord was in Power Armour it would increase it to a 2+ save. A 2+ save is the best save you can every get.

    4. Well the 1+ save should be kept against AP 2 though, sure the save is fictionally the same as 2+ when rolling but much different when you get to keep the save vs a power fist.

    Barge Lords just got even more amazing (on top of the fact Command Barges are also chariots now).

    1. Quite tasty actually. Whats even mkre tastier is rhe fact that snapshots on the Death Ray for theirbflyer hits automatically. I wonder though why Ghost and doom arks have 4 hp... o well! :).

      But a lemon russ with 3 hmmm. And the fact that the executioner can overheat....hmmhmmhmmmmmmmmm

  9. Doom scythes are still insane... 2 CcB 3 night scythe with min warrior squads 3 doom scythes (3 annihilation barges if it's too cheesy to have all fliers) will make up the core of most my lists now

  10. I played a game today, Thunder Hammers, Force Staves and Power Mauls (Croizius Arcanum) all have 'Concussive' USR. Did you guys notice that Concussive doesnt do anything against vehicles? Thunder hammers no longer auto stun vehicles =(

  11. Strange, on these FAQs it says that Eldrad is level 3, while in the latest White Dwarf it says he's level 4. What a **** up.

    1. and farseers are only level 1! and in the white dwarf it does not say he is level four but that he instead generates 4 new powers. IMHO eldrad and ahriman should be level 4 anyway i mean comon arhiman traversed the whole webway and eldrad is 10000+ years old and farseers being just level 1 is stupid. im assuming there is someway to buy upgrades to make them level 2, 3 and prehaps 4 like in whfb also who is actually a level 4 psyker now?

      I've no idea who will be level 4, perhaps Magnus is they ever release the Horus Heresy books that are on the rumour mill ;)

    3. According to the FAQ, Eldrad still gets 4 powers even if he isn't level 4... "Eldrad Ulthran generates 4 new powers."

    4. remember the powers you get is not where you get psyker mastery from, rather it's how many powers you can cast in a turn.
      useing a space marine Lib as an example. they get 2 powers but can only cast 1 per turn. as such they are Psy Mastery 1.

    3. Tell me about the flayed ones, I've just painted up 20 of them a week before 6th ed hit the shelfs.

      I can now use them as 2 things, objective markers or ammo to throw at people :)

      All they needed to do was give them Fearless and they would have become just about useable.
