These following pics are from the Chaos Space Marine codex, but are only snippets of small sections. Tasty Taste has been slowly adding them to a single post (which is linked below), and some of them we have not seen here, so I thought I would post up. I especially am loving sonic weapons.

There are a few more over at BoK, and I believe those had already shown their faces here. Regardless, go ahead and check out his site, as all his rumors are all on the page linked.

    3. Calm down kiddo. Don't be mad that you're some long time Chaos Army (who were completely ridiculous 2 editions ago). No one cares.

If it makes you sick, quit playing, you're most likely a poor player to play against - snot nosed kid.

    4. Mate, I've played Grey Knights since they were brand new released as 'Daemonhunters'. I loved my daemonhunter army and still call them so because their fanbase has been crawling with all the band wagon players. But you know what? Let them. I don't care what people think because my army is not their army. I put effort into my army and I played countless games of which I won only one, for years! I played the game and I had fun, that's all that matters. Some new players might come along and join the chaos band wagon but eventually they'll move on as they always do!

    4. Somethin IS new: He has hatred versus Spacemarines... reroll of ones... :)

      Delete
    5. Actually Hatred just lets you re-roll all missed attacks for the first round of combat.

He also has the Warlord Trait: Hatred Incarnate, meaning that he and any squad he joins Hate Everything.

    1. Yeah I'm curious about that too - I really hope the person was mistaken and a Sonic Blaster isn't 10 pts...

Would be nice to see how much a Doom Siren costs too.

      Delete
    2. I feared Sonic Weapons would be the first to suffer the glorified Rapid Fire that is Salvo.

10 pts is too much for a glorified bolter. Hopefully we can buy extra doom sirens for them.

      Delete
    3. I had heard that Sonic Blasters were the same points as before, (5) and that Blastmasters were now 25 points. I just REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you can take more than 1 Blastmaster in a squad...

      Delete
    4. Rules as stated sonic blasters are worse as there is no more shoot and assault. Blastmaster is way cool now that cover cant b taken in a world of 3+ saves.... Still not worth 40points. Hopefully sonicblasters are 3ppm an blastmasters are 25-30. The doom siren is priced fair currently, just need to be able to put it on someone who isnt sarge.

    2. Yes but interestingly, what about his special rule? The 2+ to hit everything was pretty handy - I really didn't mind losing the odd berserker or twp.

      Delete
    3. It could be on the right hand side of the page. Abaddons special weapons are not included in the wargear bit either but they are in the yellow box beside. Then again Angron might have nicked it back.

    5. Correct, his weapon would be listed on the right side if everything is the same, and since he has no other weapons, I think that is the case. More importantly, I think he got over his betrayal since it would be listed under special rules. That depresses me since it also may mean he lost the 2+ as the anon above mentioned. That would really take alot of the character out of him.

Also, I would love to know if Gorechild strikes at Init now.

      Delete
    6. The 2+ to hit could be wrapped up in Gorechild's profile for all we know :)

But yeah, I hope he hits on Initiative!

      Delete
    7. Yeah that is kinda what I am thinking. That was a big part of Kharn, so I don't think they will cut it out.

Gorechild isn't really a power axe anyway, it is a fancy chainaxe.

      Delete
    8. Yeah definitely!

And they don't make Angron unwieldy ;)

      So there's hope.

Even if he doesn't hit on twos any more, at least he has Hatred against everything and hits most things on 3's.

Not as good, but it's something!

    9. A good point.

It was just nice to say, my guy hits on everything.

    1. Any guesses to what Typhus's will be?

      Delete
    2. Well old Abby has Black Crusade, Ahriman has Master of Deception and Kharn has Hatred Incarnate. That leaves 4 other characters and 3 more Traits. I would guess that Huron will probably just pick a table and roll like non characters since none really fit hit. I imagine Typhus will get Lord of Terror - Giving him Fear. Lucius will probably get Flames of Spite - Soul blaze, and Fabius may end up with Exalted Champion - Reroll chaos boons.

Typhus and Lucius make alot of sense to me. I am just throwing out the idea for Huron and Fabius.

      Delete
    3. Well shows how much I know lol. I usually stay with the Khorne stuff. After thinking about it more, I think Huron will get Exalted Champion.

He is a damn tough nut to crack.
The guy is also a lv 2 nurgle psyker. Makes cultists into the walking dead if you wish, strikes at strenght 8 (or was it 10?) admittedly last, but with the daemon weapon rule and force included.

  15. About Sonic Blaster,

    It's 24'' s4 ap5 salvo 2/3, pinning, no cover.

Salvo means halve range when moving and the first number of shots and not charging.

Umm well, when moving, noise marines can only fire 2 shots at 12'' and without charge ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, salvo makes me sad too. In 5th I've used NM as assault groups with sonic blasters and doomsiren, it worked just excellent (even better than 'zerkers from point cost perspective). Now I have to review my tactic.

      Delete
    2. I find it very odd that decided to take away noise marines ability to shoot at full range whilst moving. Now regular bolters can shoot at full range but not noise marines. Its a bizarro world.

      Delete
    3. Once again, servants of the Dark Prince get shafted.... no pun intended.

It kind of pisses me off. I wanted to finish building my Slaanesh warband for a small allied list, but now Noise Marines suck worse than before.

      Delete
    4. You are dumb. You do know they are cheaper now, right?

      Delete
    5. But if you want them to use sonic blasters they are more - IF the +10 points / sonic rifle info is correct (17 + 10 = 27).

Does anyone have news on this? Are they really +10 points each? Please be +5...

      Delete
    6. Noise Marines got a huge boost. Blastmasters down to only 25 points, all their weapons Ignoring Cover, Doom Siren still awesome at AP3, initiative higher than most other units.

The key is going to be in choosing what kind of squad you want, shooty or assaulty? If you choose shooty, expect them not to move around much, and if you choose assaulty, don't give them Sonic Blasters, since they'll be a waste. Either way, they're going to be a lot cheaper than they were before, and even more effective.

      Delete
    7. hoping that the sonic weapon cost 5p, they ignores cover so pretty cool

  16. There's something I'm asking!

    If Abaddon has this profile:

    WS 7 / BS 5 / S 4 / T 5 / W 4 / I 6 / A 4 / L 10 / Sv 2+

And have the Mark of Chaos Ascendant (He also has all four Marks of Chaos)

    And the marks are:

    Mark of Khorne: Berserker, Counter-attack
    Mark of Nurgle: +1 Toughness
Mark of Tzeentch: Invulnerable Saves improved by 1
    Mark of Slaanesh: +1 Initiative.

    So Abaddon is:

    WS 7 / BS 5 / S 4 / T 6 / W 4 / I 7 / A 4 / L 10 / Sv 2+

    Champion of Chaos
    Eternal Warrior
    Fearless
    Independent Character
    Veterans od the Long War
    Berserker
    Counter-attack
    Invulnerable Save 4+

Because it isn`t written that the bonus marks are included in the profile!

  18. He may be right. Here's why:

Thousand Sons have Aura of Dark Glory, but it's not on their profile. Then they have Mark of Tzeentch. So they have a 4++, but it doesn't say.

    Same with Abby.

He may be very powerful indeed.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I'd have to agree. If it doesn't say its included in profile like most things do when they are. He gets the effect of each mark on top. There is nothing I see on there to say they are included in his profile. Saying that I think it is a mistake and fill be FAQ'd soon after.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well guess all my noise marines became useless, because unless I'm missing something, sonic blasters are now worse than bolters. Their only saving grace would be a longer range in which case they would still be kind of useful as fire support, but I can't find the appendix where it would say that. I remain pessimistic.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Never mind, just saw the range, 24 shoddy inches :(

      Delete
    3. 3 shots at 24 inches at ap5 that ignores cover. Goodbye Tyranids, Dark Eldar, Guardsmen, Eldar, opposing Cultists, Scouts, and any other fodder. You're going to be able to pump a lot of shots out at decent range for not many points, and if you get assaulted you're still going to strike first at higher Initiative. Noise Marines got a HUGE boost.

      Delete
    4. i agree. noise marines with or without sonic weapons will be the new fotm

      Delete
    5. I remember a rumor they had to take sonic weapons a while back, now it seems to be 4 + champ for X points for most every Chaos Space Marine squad. I used to run six with a single Blastmaster no champ, no other sonic weapons to be my home objective babysitter. I think that squad was 160 points old codex.

With Noisemarines and all cult troops becoming elite no more babysitting duties unless I run a Slaneesh Lord. Does it have to be a Slaneesh Warlord? Can one run a Nurgle Lord and a Slaneesh Lord making both Plaguemarines and Noisemarines troops? Or is it the warlord and the warlord alone who alters the FOC?

Tzeentch Sorcerers seem to make Rubric Marines troops so it seems feasible you could have a Warlord and a Tzeentch Sorcerer thus potentially having two different cult troops count as troops.

I'm pretty much going Nurgle Biker Lord T6 as my first new HQ to build, but my second HQ choice in say a 1500 point army is totally up in the air. Sorcerer for spiffy new powers, Cheerleader for rah-rah prowess, Dark Mechanic for fixing stuff. Lots of options in HQ besides the six (7?) special character HQs.

      Delete
    6. I guess the problem is that people run Noise Marines as frontline troops. But now they will be back support. Good and bad because you'll need a Slaaneshi Chaos Lord to make them troops. If they aren't troops, then they are kind of a wasted opportunity. Still a Slaaneshi Chaos Lord is very good and I think that will remain the same.

It's good overall. It'll save me the Rhino for another squad that needs it more.

      Delete
  21. While the entry does state that Abaddons invul save is increased to 4++ from the MoT, one could argue that the MoN and MoS are included in his profile with the T5 and I6. Another argument asks simply where is the bonus abilities from MoK, as none are shown. So yes I do believe that Loku is correct that his stats are better than shown.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. On a side note we need to see the rule specifics about having a Mark on your Warlord unlocking corresponding cults as troops. With out clarification or specifics, as the rumors now stand, Abaddon would technically unlock all cults as troops as well as Chosen. Awesome? Yes, OP? HELL YEAH, Likely to happen? probably not.

      Delete
    2. There's a certain sense to that though, with Abaddon being the favoured son of the warmaster, Dark Warmaster of yada yada.

If anyone can get the cults to co-operate, it'd be him.

I'd be surprised if he winds up being T6... but who knows!

      Delete
    3. So... we have to wait for a FAQ, because it isn`t written in the entry like the old dex!

Mark od Chaos Ascendant 4th Dex Page 46:
... Abaddon has melded the Marks of Chaos granted to him, and now bears a unique Mark that combines all of the gifts. Because of the Mark of Tzeentch, the invulnerable save provided by his armour is increaser to 4+. The other benefits are included in his profile.

      Jejeje so Abaddon always rule!
