    3. Anon, read the red sands rule. THAT is his super hate!

    4. Also to see him in action live watch the first half hour of Nightbreed (c'mon can't be the first to notice he looks a lot like Pellaquinn out of that film!)

    1. Why, that was what the loyal Angron was like. The Khorne version MEGA.

  3. Jesus, gonna be hard to beat Angron, especially if he is charging with a command squad...looks like they are doing this right.

    1. +1 for Mortarion

      Delete
    2. Mortarion is one of the hardest primachs to kill, this was done deliberately to represent what he went through as a nipper! his weapon is also a beast of a thing i think you deathguard players will be VERY happy!!

      Delete
  5. Angron would eat anything in the game, and so he should! Horus is also great - not as killy as Angron, but still nasty, and far more survivable. Horus' big thing is his strategic/tactical benefits.

    1. But Horus gets S10 AP2 master-crafted concussive strikes, or a S7 AP2 Disarming Shred strikes.

I feel as though he'd survive that first round against Angry Ron just fine and then murder him in return. Pretty close though. I think GW is representing them accurately.

      Delete
    2. If 'Angry Ron' warmed up on regular marines first though, he could be coming in with 10 attacks!

      Delete
    3. I think they deliberately left room for Horus to grow as they produce more heresy books where as Angron is pretty much where he will be come the end of the series, i would presume the same goes for Fulgrim!

      Delete
    4. Traitor Primarchs will get demonically enhanced. Not sure if Horus needs to grow, but he will be buffed for the battle of terra at least

      Delete
    5. Angron is not where he will end up. Read The Emperor's Gift

  7. I just wanted to throw out there that GW has just stolen a bunch of my money. Sorta sickens me to know that they have my nuts firmly in their plastic modeled hands---- I mean seriously, if you really love the hobby and are a sucker for their books like the horus heresy novels-how on earth are you not going to buy every primarch?? I know I am!! they could and probably will charge a crazy amount and Ill still pay it. I tip my hat to you games workshop. You have me and I am forced to pledge my wallet to you. Please have some semblance of mercy.
    Tom
ps- posted this on the first look at primarchs but still wonder how many other people feel this way lol

    1. After seeing Angron in person, I can think of worse things to buy ;)
But yes, after I relent and get my first, the rest will surely follow...

    2. I will be getting every book but don't think I'll be getting primarchs except for The Lion. If all the books are like this one, and it is absolutely stunning, i'll be a very very happy man.

    4. Thats interesting because it is the exact opposite for me- I struggle thinking of shelling out, what 100$ or so for the books, but the primarchs are a for sure. I might just have to get their info from other places. I would love to support forgeworld with both but I just do not have that kind of money right now (college, newlywed). so maybe someday ill own all the books as well.

    5. I really just want to see prices for the Primarchs, that will be my primary motivator. If it is reasonable (say, double the cost of Lugft Huron) I will pick up everyone, but if it is 100+ dollars for each one, I just won't have the funds to justify them.

      Delete
    6. UK price of Angron was £50, whereas Lugft Huron is £19...
Predator Infernus price is £48 so that should be comparable

    3. Strength 9 on the charge, with hatred for everything, and red sands to challenge all the characters/IC's in the unit, then for the next rounds he is going to be +X attacksif he kills an IC, he should shred stuff.

BTW, can anyone tell what the special rules for gorefather and gorechild are? I can make out Armourbane, and the other 2 look like they start with an M, but nothing in the 6e rulebook seams to match.

    4. Murderous Strike, new special rule. A 6 to wound is an instant death wound.

    2. Dont count on it, whilst they confirmed the Emperor model they did say they wasnt sure on how to represent it on the table top so they may not release rules for "him". That said they did say they would tell us a few porkies at the start of the seminar and this may be one of them!

    4. yes pipes Christ.... no pics though they did show the abaddon model which is going room be a duel with loken they will be on a scenic base with the models able to be taken off just like angron and as for the filth (necrons) they are definitely the next IA book which was hinted around Christmas. as for pipes I will be modelling one onto leman Russ when he comes out lol

  17. I desperately want to see the rules for Alpharius, but I'm wondering how they would even do it. Every other Primarch is well established in the lore, but Alpharius (and Omegon for that matter) barely exist in that manner.
As for the models, I would laugh if they just sold Alpharius as a resin Space Marine with Alpha Legion heraldry. Completely ordinary, no sign that it's the Primarch.

    1. Special infiltration rules? Changeling-esque deception powers? (rationalised more mundanely of course)
He could become more of a longe-range shooty Primarch to differentiate from the others perhaps?

      Delete
    2. they went through a few of the ideas they had swimming around, one of them was watching your oppoinent bring on reserves only to discover they are actually alpha legion units...seems to fit very nicely. Not sure if this will make it in but seemed to me they were giving it serious consideration!

    3. Some sort of trayzan style oh u killed me nah im over there thing maybe :p

      Delete
    4. Alpharius and Omegon have been in 2 or 3 books/stories so far, a big thing in the most recent portrayal of Omegon was the fact that regular Alpha Legion Marines can drink some of his (Blood? or something) and change thier appearance and mannerisms to be that of the promarch.

So...Maybe you can field any number Alpharius' or you just dont know where he is until he reveals himself.

  20. Hi all

I was at games day uk. I asked Simon Egan (sculptor of Angron) who was sculpting the other Primarches. He said he wasnt sure anymore but did confirm that he will be sculpting Fulgrim. He said Fulgrim will be complete within the next 2 months. I asked about the Emperor and he said that he was under the impression He wasnt going to be made, however would relish the opportunity to do Him. The original idea was that Simon was going to sculpt ALL the Primarches but this has changed now to he best of his knowledge.

Finally from talking to other FW sculptor (forget name) he said that the Necron book will be released in April.

  21. Are my eyes deceiving me or is Antron not an independent character? Basically, If he can't join a unit, he will get blown away turn 1 end of story.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Independent Character is one of the rules that all the Primarchs share (see first pic above).

  22. I think Angron looks like he's going to be AWESOME.
However, I just can't see shelling out $84 just for him...
Also, why does he only have a 3+ armor save? I would think that a Primarch's armor would be crafted better than that...

Nevertheless, he looks like a beast.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He is such a brute in combat, shooting is the only real chance of taking him down. Besides, he is an independent character AND can take a command squad for meat shields!

    2. Says its ment to be the armour he wore as a gladiator but tricked out abit rather than a custom suit or something like that

  23. The Primarchs here are essentially just the human versions of Greater Deamons and Ctan Shards (Which is actually about where they should be in-strengh if fluff serves me correctly) with different abilities and wargear plus Buffed up weapon skills. I honestly look foward to battling them when they finally release. Anyone up for a game lol.

Also Necron Imperial Armour FTW (I'm a necron player)

    3. Its funny you say that, because non-Daemonprince Mortarion is more than enough to crush Supreme Gandmaster Kaldor Draigo :P

      Delete
    4. ...unless Mortarion gets really unlucky and gets fucked over by Daemonbane...

      Delete
  27. well it is funny, the warmaster has no warlord traits..hehehe
BTW, Horus is very expensive and maybe not worth taking unless on apocalypse but Angron instead is a real ass smasher, i mean he can seriously cut down whole units on his own , and take a lot of fire without suffering much thanks to his high T. he can also shred vehicles to pieces . well 400 points are much, but not many more than a unit of terminators and he fits the same role quite well, so he may be at least semi competitive.

  28. >be daemons player

    1. Except Angron has better I, more attacks, Feel no Pain(6+), can't be eternally tarpitted by multiple challenges, has it will not die, can 'power up' to 10 attacks, has more wounds, is an Independant Character so can hide in a unit, can ride in a landraider, his range 12 S7 AP 2 weapon is Master-crafted (unlike Deathstrike), is S9 on the charge, has Armourbane, his attacks cause instant death on a to wound roll of a 6, has Hatred for everything.....

So yeah. Go roll the dice - you'll see that the extra attacks, wounds and Hatred make a real difference in a stand up fight, and Angron is way harder to shoot down thanks to being able to join a squad.

      Delete
    2. OH and lets not forget Angrons axes make him S8 (9 on the charge) - a Thirster with Unholy Might is S8.

So for 110 points less you get +1 WS but lose out on all the other stuff listed above.

    3. all daemons (including Avatar) are over rated. plenty of weapons, armour, psychic powers and one entire army are fitted to kill them quick squared. Buffed HQ IC are way better in game and cost nowhere near as many points. Horus & Angron are A grade shit kickers, as they should be, and I'm looking forward to playing on either end of that battlefield.
