Below is the October 6th releases that are just around the corner. These are what is on the order form, and it very much is what we expect. The only odd thing is that some of the models seem to have only a 3 month lifespan.

  1. Hmm, you think they will change the Products in 3 Month?

  2. Considering its mostly the Special Character models that are on a three month, perhaps they are being redone.

  3. Hasn't all this been on GWs site for like a week now?

  4. At this point I think I'll just take the money I saved up for a 40k army and do Horus Heresy Emperor's Children army (then they can double a Hawk Lords)

  5. I love that the CDN is exchanging higher than the USD, yet we still pay 15% more. I guess it could be worse... we could be paying in AUD.

    2. I love how someone makes this stupid comment every time a price is listed, because they understand nothing about the US market vs. Aussie and Canada, or neglects the fact that GW has a plant in the US all but next door to a UPS hub which saves them money and eliminates import/export costs, or the fact that US actually turns a profit for GW and Canada and Aus are lolz in that department, and the minimum wage and inflation rates in those countries make it impossible for brick & mortars to survive there...

      Delete
    3. yeah thats because there is a plant in the USA and it is cheaper/more profitable to do buisness in the United States than Canada.

    6. ANON you are only partially right. There is a plant in the US, but our inflation is one of the best here in Aus we have had less affect from the GFC than most other countries due to our current Treasurer being the No.1 finance minister in the WORLD, our dollar is the strongest it has ever been and we have GW and independent stores that have been around for ages. Our min wage is not high (maybe compared to asia) but $600 per week is not much. I am a business owner and we do quite well here. I buy GW online which as a private citizen I can import to Aus still at aout half of what GW sell directly here, you would think they would have found a discount for shipping by now that would bring their prices more in line with the rest of the world, or at least opened a plant down here that could supply Asia, Australia, New Zealand and probably other parts of the world cheaper than they are now.

    7. $600 a week? I don't know what you have been hearing, but even for the USA and Europe that is ridiculously high minimum wage. The US is like $290 a week...

  9. So in November Chosen/Havocs, Cultists and Hellbrute Kits?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Havocs are already on that list. I'd be very suprised if Cultists and the Hellbrute kits were released in November - we just haven't had any evidence to support it.

  10. Yeah, I'm still a little unimpressed by this update to a really great part of the GW franchise. It feels like they ran out of steam after DV or rushed through it to clear off projects before the hobbit launches. I hope the Dark Angels don't get the same brushoff...

  11. the models don't bother me too much...but the prices...

  12. Has GW ever lowered their prices (except the raptor kit)?

    1. Alot of times.

Aktually the Obliterators got way cheeper THIS Month. They where 3 for 60 Euros - now they are 3 for 41.

    2. Well that's going from metal to plastic. That's happened a few times. But otherwise. No.

  14. Of course the only people who do not have a problem with the prices are people with endless disposable income. People who don't realize what its like to love a hobby, then slowly get bled out of being able to afford it.

    1. I actually was going to have to save up for a month or two to afford the chaos book if I did not place in a tournament, winning enough store credit to get it. I still dont mind the prices because I know that every mini I buy I am getting my value out of it. Even if it means that I have to save for a month or two before I can get one, I will still get one because I feel that I am getting my value out of it. Much more than an video game or other things I would spend disposable income on.

  15. Does relaunch in 3 months mean new sculpts in 3 months? That would be awesome, but do they ever sell different sculpts of the same special character at the same time? What is so bad about Finecast? I like how soft it is to sculpt.

    1. Knowing GW I doubt it highly. It probably means something else entirely. We should know by know not to get our hopes up with GW especially after this lackluster chaos update.

    2. This codex should actually be pretty competitive. I predict it will be a top 5 codex next time 11th company does a codex review

  16. The three months probably means after that they go direct only.

  18. 3 months could mean going to plastic. Would be nice. Very curious what the second October wave is gonna be. They very much need to hurry up with a cultist box. I for one have no desire to get another dv box just to have to do major kit bash conversions to make everything look unique.

    ReplyDelete
  19. is their any rumors on what is going to be in the 2nd wave release for chaos Im hopeing for a chosen plastic kit to make my regular cam look cool and a cultist box to convert guard allies

    1. Cultists, helbrute, chosen and maybe some more upgrade kits or new kits of the standard troops and terminators.

      Delete
    2. word is no terminators. the book keeps them in line with the current kit.

      Delete
    3. There isnt really anything wrong with the current termie kit except that it doesnt come with lightning claws. I also wouldnt count on a new CSM kit either since it has all the options available

    1. This was in response to a troll. but you got him before my comment was published. to keep this on topic, i'm scared for two years down the line when GW feels it's time to raise prices once again, forcing the game further down the road of perverse elitism. It's a fact of life that the hobby is expensive, but whenever i tell friends i play 40k they say 'but isn't it crazy expensive?'. it's the first factor that defines the game in popular consciousness in many instances. Just saying.

  22. The chaos lord with jump pack will be re-released with the new (old) jump packs I expect.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I can confirm that Jes Goodwin said at Gamesday that GW were not making the same mistake they made with Assault on Black Reach and ALL units in the box would get a new kit.

He also said that Hellbrutes, Cultists and Chosen would get new kits BUT they were not a high priority on his to do list at the moment.

I think its safe to say that there wont be a second wave release for a few months yet.
