Of course more pics are coming in from the upcoming White Dwarf as now it seems just about everybody has it (except me of course as always..... Saturday will be good though). Here are the latest.... I wish though they were in english.

A big thanks to mr tscha over on Picasa for putting up these pics.

    1. I only see Dark Angels? But I agree, that Helldrake is sexy looking on that angle.

  3. Not to get greedy but are there still rumors circulating about another release later in the month?

    1. I doubt that as I've rarely seen such announcement midway ( or maybe even not). Even if there's a new release they will feature it in the next WD. This promote the WD making people buy. I don't think they will let this opportunity slip away with a " surprise" -release. If it should be a " surprise" release, then they would certainly releave it on Games Day Uk.

I personally expect it featured in the next WD, announcing the 2nd wave release in November.

  4. Now I wanna name my sorcerer hexer lol.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, "Hexer" is just the generic German term for "Sorcerer".

      Hexer = Sorcerer
      Hexe = Witch
      Hexenjäger = Witchhunter

But if I forget for a second that I am German, I have to admit that "Hexer" doesn't sound bad as a name. Just go for it :)

      Delete
    2. Name him 'Hexer Sexer'. By the way, 'hex' means 'curse' in English, so 'curser' just sounds funny. Hence the joke.

      Delete
    3. So his name would translate to 'Witcher Boner'? Might work for a Slaaneshi sorcerer, I guess...

    4. Funny. Verhexet means jinxed.

  6. The more pics from different angles that I'm seeing the more I'm liking the new mini's.

The first four leaked images did the new mini's no justice at all.

    1. THIS.

It's the problem with games workshop's stupid secrecy policy, you end up seeing leaked sup par images and it puts customers off their product.

    2. I agree! Really liking the dragon now.

    1. No, actually you don't. The text snippets are just about a little fluff like that Dark Apostles are preachers of Chaos and the fiends are really mean machines made in warp forges. Then they go on about how good it is to have Finecast now because with metal they could never have managed to cover the Dark Apostle with so much toilet paper (it gets a little blurry to the end, but i think that's what it says). I really can't read the small image descriptions, sorry.

The page with the many boxes and prices says, that the new stuff is "now" (i.e. Sep 22nd) for preorder and available at stores at October 6th.

    1. You just got a ridiculous boxed set with Cultists. It was called Dark Vengeance.

Plus, they will get their own release in a short while. :)

    2. Are those new bikes as rumored? Too small for me to see...

    3. I am with you. Was hoping for some more cultist or any box set that was not 75% of the LAST box set.

      Delete
  10. Replies
    1. That's because all they did was swap some bikes for some Berserkers and take out some more plain marines. Worst box set ever.

  11. Never posted a comment before, but I have skulked about for quite a while, and only this has made me feel so inclined as to say anything.

These models are amazing, I just hope rules come in to match. As for the Tau in that picture, I don't think it is going to go well for them, unless of course that dragon has some lack luster rules.

    ReplyDelete
  12. The 'Drake looks amazing at that angle, I'm now officially convinced. I thought it was "kinda cool" before, now I think it's awesome. Oh, the power of camera angles.

    1. At launch, we will see the standard Chaos Space Marines. This is so GW doesn't get "ChapterHoused" again by not having representations for everything from the onset.

      Delete
    2. so there will or won't be new regular chaos marine models? lol I'm guessing that they would be in the front photo of the battleforce in the WD but the photo is to blurry when zoomed in

  21. It looks like the new Chaos Battleforce is to blurry to fully make out, but it looks like 10 CSM, 5 Possessed, 3 Chaos Bikers, and a Chaos Rhino. Anybody else see anything different?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Looks that way to me.
I just hope either bikers or possessed got usable otherwise this box set isn't going to be a deal at all. Especially after already having DA bikes from DV to convert

      Delete
    2. Possessed seem better from rumours. Instead of one d6 roll and getting a completely random (and often useless) result, you purchase rolls or something like that, with way more results.

      Delete
    3. Well, we should be able to get T6 bikers (via Mark of Nurgle) without having to protect a bannerman if the rumors are true. So, an instant death-proof unit that is fast, not too bad, especially if you can give them FNP.

      Delete
    4. Just hurry and buy the old box set. You get 5 more marines and bezerkers instead of bikes. Worst box set ever IMO. I even like all the new models, but the battle force box is a real upset.

  22. Still not sold on the daemon engines, n the new aesthetic for chosen is a lil mis-matched on my current (old school) army look (but they look so fantastic its hard to complain)... but the apostle and warpsmith give me a lil nerd-gasm... the dragon is faaar better than we were led to believe, and the raptor kit is freaking awesome (while still a lil out of sorts for my army aesthetic..)
Add that to the cultists and the prospect of new shiny rules, including allied IG, and my IW might finally reach the look I been going for with inspiration from 'Storm of Iron' and ALSO be competitive on the table-top..
    W00t!

  23. Im sorry fellahs, I was stoked out of my mind for the "dragon" model, and the helldrake... I just do not think it is good looking at all. I was hoping for a much better showing of a warp spawned, deamon-ish, grown from the old fears of men that chaos thrive on- dragon awesome beastie. From what we have here is just a hunk of metal with to many "chaos" stars on it with weird forward wings that dont fit very well. We will have to see if it looks better in real life. And Ill admit, I have a very soft spot for dragons so I might be being too biased here... but come on- we are all geeks who love fantasy stuff or you wouldnt be on this site lol.
But thank you for the pics and info natfka, your the man

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agreed... except as soon as I heard it was a dragon I expected bad things. Personally I like the wings, though- maybe cut off the head altogether and replace it with a mass of tentacles or something?

The real problem with the daemon engines is that for a tiny amount more money you can get the Forge World ones.

      Delete
    2. Curiously, for me it's the other way around. I was mostly indifferent towards the dragon flyer, but now that I've seen pics, I actually kinda like it, because it still lokes more like a flying daemon engine than a actual dragon.

      Delete
    3. quote: "The real problem with the daemon engines is that for a tiny amount more money you can get the Forge World ones."

For me it's a winning advantage, small price difference now makes decision a very easy for me. Hell talon model will go as a Helldrake, Decimator will play the role of shooty daemon engine, I still have no much love for Khorne Blood Slaughterer, but I'll look into it.

      Delete
    4. I'm not crazy about the Dragon either.

      Delete
  24. You know, the dragon body looks freaking amazing, but I'm not sold on those wings at all. Or the weird shoulder claws of doom, lol. I'm definitely buying the model, but some serious converting is going to be happening.

    1. I'm sorry to tell you but if you go to the gallery and look at the zoomed picture it says 39.00€ for the Codex... which means bad news (for now) for everyone

      Delete
    2. it IS 39,hardback (like warhammer books) fully colored. i think thats too much.
cultists are in the dex, but theres no box listed in this WD.

    3. I guess there's a second wave coming with cultists, Hellbrutes and hopefully some remodels and other new stuff that I may be forgetting

      Delete
    4. Yeah, they're gonna try to milk DV a bit more.

      Delete
    5. I just used a money converter & 39.00 euro's at the moment is £31.20p just so you know.

      Delete
    6. Well i think it's 29€, too.
Because when you look at the warpsmith the "3" in the 23€ is well to see and look somehow different to that mysterious symbol of the codex price

  26. I think it wasn't mentioned before but there's a box of Chaos psi-power-cards coming as well. No suprise there, though.

And the CC-obliterators are just that - no mixed box with the shooty ones.

    3. Ah thanks for clarifying. Still not accustomed to buying fine cast in a box yet.

  29. Mostly awesome models, but I haven't decided on the dinobots. Do they look evil, or just Lizardmen in space? Have to see them IRL.

Btw, Tomb Kings called, they want their colour scheme back from the Dragon.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think the paintjob and pose doesn't do justice to the mauler/forgefiends. A bit of converting and dedication when painting them and I'm sure you'll get one evil looking bastard on the field

      Delete
  30. I'm really disappointed in this model wave. All of the new stuff looks great, but I was hoping that most of the older models would be redone. The fact that the new battleforce still contains the cartoony-looking CSM squad squashed that hope.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I get where you're coming from. I'm liking the new models more and more. But it is not as thorough a release as Dark Eldar who got all new kits. Even Necrons got more, though they're still stuck with the old Warriors and Destroyers.

Hopefully there will be more on the way.

      Delete
    2. Also remember the designers talked about more warp effected units over spiky pirate units? Could mean new warp effected models for other units in the next wave so don't count anything out yet.

Even if not, I am more concerned about terminators being redone. The current ones are just far to dated looking now.

  31. I would have offered to translate a bit because I am german, but the pictures are too small. Sadly I don't have my WD either :|

Has someone noticed the new BF? Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like there are *bikes* in there. Sad that the put those in instead of the berzerkers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well they already have an elite choice in there (possessed), so bikes got thrown in as fast attack.

      Delete
    2. Yes, but the bikes are a old kit (and unless buffed will not see much use).
Just look at the Necrons or DE battleforce. All useful and new kits.

I'll not complain because I'll not buy it, but even if they did not want to use brand new stuff like warptalons for the box, some termis would be better (and not much different in price).

  34. The battleforce and codex are gone from the site

    ReplyDelete
  35. My two cents:

In regards to the (not changing of the old) CSM, I think that since a lot of the products (iron warriors/night lords conversion packs, among others, as well as death guard, khorne FW kits) are centered around the current CSM template (legs, etc), it would be very hard to move out from the current design of the CSM as it means changing almost all the kits.

Moreover, the compatibility of the current CSM parts with the loyalist space marines gives it more versatility for conversion, at the same time keeping them space marines. They are still space marines, after all, albeit chaos. I think that this (keeping the old CSM) is the balance that GW meant - between keeping both the spiky marines look and the warp-changed models we see in the new releases. Players get more options by doing this... Thoughts anyone?

Btw, how do I make an account here so I won't have to be anon?
