There is a lot of confusion lately on what is going to be released and when. Even though most rumor sources around the web are still saying September, there is a lot of disbelief, so hopefully this will shed a little light on the subject, as well as put forth a possible date for the next codex release.

Please remember that these are rumors.

hasn't changed his statement that Pre orders are up on the 15th for release on the 22nd along with the white dwarf about them.

I could imagine the WD and Pre Orders to both be the 22nd but he was very specific and said that they're "breaking the mold" to fit in DAngels.

    5. Loyal to the Emporer and Dark Angels in the same sentence seems somehow wrong :P

I agree though, I can't wait for either of these to drop!

    6. We are ONLY loyal to the Emprah, just not the rotting corpse of an Imperium.
      Ironic?

    7. I read recently (can't remember where, but I think it was accurate) that Forge World are releasing a series of Imperial Armour Books for the Horus Heresy. These books are said to contain rules and information about the Legions. I can't imagine there being much difference in the Chaos Legions of old to how they operate now. I myself am looking forward to these IA books (3 in total). Just think - Primarchs in a game of 40k...

    1. No. CSM in September so they can fit Warriors of Chaos in October so they can fit Dark Angels in November, if that's what they're doing.

  5. And yet we still have no solid info on new Dark Angels stuff, other than a handful of FW units being carried over. If we really are a month away from a new DA codex then GW has done a great job of keeping a lid on things.

    1. It's not like DA need a ton of work anyways. Bring point costs in line with the other Marines. Add some characters, a new style or 2 of land speeder, a plasma pred. sounds good to me. I don't know what else they'd add.

Chaos is getting an update, a flyer, new troop option and oblit option.

    2. I would say they need at least 2 specialized units that they don't currently have (infantry units that is), otherwise their book is just vanilla SM with scoring termies and more plasma.

    3. I pray for elite jetbikes option for DA and new Tempest model.

    4. If the DA Tempest is anything like what is currently in Aeronautica I won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

    5. Plasma happy, robe wearing space marines? Well, I suppose it makes a change from the crusader space marines, the vampire angel space marines, the werewolf space marines, the silver awesomesauce space marines, and the dreaded smurfs.
Rant over. So long as I get a new Chaos codex before the end of the year, I will ignore GW trying to justify another separate marine codex.
What would they give DA, though? Jetbikes? Fair enough, along with the land speeder, but there is already a plasma predator from Forge World. Fairly recent model, called the Deimos pattern predator executioner IIRC? As moronic as GW may be sometimes, I don't think they would steal something like that from Forgeworld, so a plasma pred. probably won't be coming.

    6. I still think marines are better likened to ice-cream flavours ^^; The dreaded vanilla! *horror music* Personally, I'd like a two army book release be one fantasy, one 40k so GW gets the best of both worlds. That and dwarfs got ousted by High elves and lizardmen, despite lizardmen having hardly any rumours >.>
Not sure if DA deserve a separate codex, they probably could just have FOC reorganisation, cheaper possibly more stable plasma?

    7. You forget Roman marines, Mongol marines and Greek marines.

I don't really know what Dark Angels are supposed to be. Knights? Monks? Fast hitting? Slow but heavily armoured? They seemed to have lumped all left-over archetypes in one last codex.

  6. When can we expect white dwarf pictures for the next issue ? fingers crossed it is chaos and not the dark angels.

    1. Somewhere in another post, someone said something about them MAYBE being moved to go with the Dark Angels codex instead. Which I would not be happy about, but if they intend on making changes to Space Marines that will mirror some of the changes in Dark Angels, then I can see WHY they would move it back. Not happy about it, but I can see it happening.

    2. Thanks, i hadn't heard that. It doesn't bother me too much as i play d.angels, but it would be nice to have all the codexs working on 6th ed properly

  14. Two questions regarding the Dark Vengeance: Right now you can only order the Limited edition box, when can you order the standard editon? I don't play DA så I only want Chaos, no need to pay extra for more DA.

I also planned to wait for codex to see if I wanted the Chaos units in Dark Vengeance before buying. But how long will it be available for purchase?
