Chaos Space Marines are the next codex, despite some obvious commentors looking for an argument on just about anything. The date and which month to credit, seems to be of some contention, and here is the latest on just when we will see the Chaos Space Marine Codex.

Please remember that these are rumors. Salt required.

It's hitting pretty hard that CSM are actually October, the confusion amongst the rumor mongers is that word is WD will hit the 22nd, in time for GD UK the 23rd. With pre-orders for CSM within. And on sale date of Sept. 29th. with a later in the month of Oct 2nd wave.

So the CSM out Sept is technically correct, but the reality is its the Oct release.

  5. Much as I loved Dreadfleet *ducks for cover* it wasn't quite the huge 'thing' gamesday needed last year (uk). Lots of chaos is going to make it very interesting indeed this year with Horus Heresy too...
    Maidstone Marauders FTW!!

    1. Dreadfleet was a nice move, it's just too bad they dont support the rest of the specialist games.

I agree with you on GD UK! I bet they have lots up their sleeve.

    2. Is there going to be another box game this year? Is it blood bowl?

      Delete
    3. Bloodbowl is 25 years old soon so I'd put my money on a new box set in the next 12 months... Hopefully!

    4. 1st edition was 1986, so that's already gone.....

    5. You can't really count first edition as propper bloodbowl, no pitch no models? Second edition 88 was what started bloodbowl as we know it today, even though that polystyrene pitch was awful to use! I'd still put money on next year for a re-release, just hope the bring out dungeon bowl as an expansion again, as that was truly funny to play!

  8. Its all just smoke any mirrors! Its really orks next. Remember that silence is the way to build anticipation for a release. The 100 billion dollar a year advertising industry has it WRONG!
    Lol

I really want to see what gw has for us with the starter, csm and da. I wont be buying any (saving for the tau release in 2015!) but I still want to see what goodies 6th is going to bring us

  9. The only good thing about this is that it gives me one month to finish my defiler, landraider and all the chaos units of the new starter box.

    1. This. I'm lucky if I get a single model done a week with my hectic schedule, so I suppose this'll give me a chance to finish that one squad of Chaos Marines I've been working on for the past month.

    2. yeah I've got a defiler I'm working on, then will have the boixed set to do up. that'll proably take me most of sept

  11. well, i guess its technically still September...but ill believe it when i see it. ill both laugh and cry if October comes and then they say "Oh no we meant to say its Chaos in November"

still dont believe we will see Daemons being re-done just yet, all the previous rumours pointed to this time next year (hell, Daemons have had the August slot for their past 2 releases so why not have it again?)

    1. I can't help but agree with this. The White Dwarf will be the final say, and the rumors are suggesting we'll get that early. It seems like it's finally happening. We've just gotta wait another 4 weeks...

  12. At least it gives me more time to save instead of going without food during September.

  13. Here we go again... I think that we will find ourselves in July 2013 and still be thinking about what the fuck happened in Q4 2012. This is utter madness...

    2. *shrugs* It's enough that the rumormongers bring us information. I don't think they should be held accountable for the dates that something releases.

After all, right here on Faeit we heard how CSM were originally supposed to be in August, but were replaced by Daemons last minute.

See thats why you get "trolled"
      Youre too ignorant to argument!
Ofc they should be Held accountable becaus otherwise the Date Could be Off a Year or more. And People like to always Point Out how accurate the sources are when wishlisting releases!

      Delete
    5. I don't blame them for sharing the information they have, especially about the release dates as they look more and more unpredictable over the time.

I just say that they could just admit that they were wrong, instead of saying "oh, it's on the 29th! It's still september!" as a desperate attempt to be right.

  18. Why is there a picture of a DA on the last page of Septembers WD if Chaos are actually coming in October? Doesn't make sense!

Hope it is Chaos though, will provide some good motivation to finish painting my Thousand Sons! :-)

Plus I got my booty handed to me by DA last night so very anti DA at the moment! (Just kidding, I'm a very gracious loser really!)

    1. I have it on pretty decent authority that the reason for the DA on the WD inner cover is just a hint at the starter set
Of course they will neither confirm or deny CSM as the next dex, so...
However, my local FLGS can no longer order the CSM dex, so it supports the theory. And yeah, late sept, I guess is still sept,but... meh, oct works ok for me :-)

  19. This has all stopped making sense a long time ago and I'm starting to get frustrated. Not by the rumors, but the last 12 months were pretty "meh" releases for me, except for the 6th edition. I'm playing DA and CSM, so I can't seem to wait anymore for something new ;-).

  20. Well they do sort of have to give chaos a codex soon, as they have given us 2 new units in the starter box all ready. I find it unlikely they'll keep those as "starter game only" models.

Even with a revamp and a WD codex update they'll be hard pressed not to just give us that nice finished codex we hear is sitting in the warehouse. Also profit, selling me a WD is a small profit, selling me a new codex and releasing a wave of new models is a large profit. One of those two options has to pan out given that i'll have cultists and a hell brute in my hands in about a week.

    ReplyDelete

    1. So do the rules for the new chaos units come in the box or do you get to make them up until the new codex drops?

      Delete
    2. You get the basic Stats and standard wargear for the hellbrute and Cultists, but no special rules or Options.
