This is one hell of a tank. Above all else check out the Magna-Melta in the experimental rules. The one thing I like about predators and always have, is the armour values, and the extreme flexibility of layouts, and this one is no different.

This was released last Friday I believe and I am little behind on it, but better late than never. Another excellent forgeworld release.

The Deimos Pattern Predator Infernus is an ancient pattern of Predator believed to date back to the hallowed days of the Great Crusade, which has now largely been replaced by the Land Raider Redeemer in many Chapters. The Crimson Fists, Fire Lords and Subjugators, among others, still value its close-range firepower when combating such xenos hordes as Orks, and in particular it is seeing resurgence amongst those Chapters confronting the Tyranid menace.

  3. Pretty cool tank. It's only shooting the turret if it moves though with the loadout pictured. :( I'd go flamestorm + heavy bolters to fire everything on the move.

    1. thats a pretty bad loadout as you will gnerally have to get pretty close to the enemu to use the flamestorm and if u dont kill everything then you tank will be dead from assault

  4. Sorry, I know this is the wrong topic.... but did anyone get there white dwarf this month? I went to the two stores in maryland that I goto to play, and I was told by both places that they were not shipped to them. The one place said that is not going to get the last issue cause some big changes are coming. The other place said he may or may not get it and when he made a call, while I was standing there, they told him. That it major warehouse problem, and the were going to try there best to get it out to him by wensday..

So has anyone else had this problem? He made some joke about something else, like I could not have it cause I already knew what was in it... but with my ulcers I need my bathroom reading...

Ok sorry for the off topic, just want to ask. Night

  5. It looks cool as all get out but it's a very questionably useable tank.

Without Scout and the Fast classification that a Baal Predator has getting close enough to use the Flamestorm cannon is going to be a difficult prospect.

The Magna-melta seems like a powerful weapon but with only an 18" range getting within 9" for that extra die of anti-armor is going to be nigh impossible.

I suppose it could be used against Terminators...but a Demolisher cannon has a better range, higher strength (for Instant Death hits on characters) and a sufficient AP to puncture Terminator armor. Also, it's not Melta so it can wound an Eldar Avatar.

Really a puzzling load out for a tank. The Predator Deimos Executioner seems a far better version.

    1. Agreed. This thing looks cool, but its a piece of crap, unfortunately.

    2. Yep. Demolisher cannon is waaay better than the magne melta.

  6. I ove the look of forge world stuff, but have never used the rules for them. If you like the way it looks who says you couldn't use it as a Baal predator?

    1. You could. Though the lucifer engine is specific to the new mk rhino chasis :P

    2. Nobody... but to do that you have to have a Blood Angels army. And if you have a Blood Angels army, you no choice BUT to use it as a Baal. If you have Space Marines, Space Wolves, Dark Angels or Black Templars you don't have the Baal option, so use the Forge World Infernus rules.

  7. I think thie design of Preditor is trying to do what the Imperial Guard already do much better with the Hell Hound and Devil Dog tanks. Those are Fast, have longer range and better side armour. They lack the AV 13 on the front, but they're fat attacks, and can be in a unit of up to three.

That said, taking one of those tanks for an SM force would requer alot more over head with troops and HQ requierments.

  8. I just wanna know whether they're going to make a Deimos-pattern vindicator. I don't want to spend a fortune knocking something up from the old metal kit and the new rhino, only to find that just weeks later there's a new tank from FW.

    1. This is a forge world model with experimental forge world rules... it has nothing to do with codex releases or the GW main line of releases for that matter.

Also new models with out codex rules for chaos in the starter set. Hard to justify DA codex next with current information available. But if speculating keeps you happy, go for it.

  11. Baal predator does it better - I don't think any BA players will be upset by this tank. Flamestorm/Heavy Bolters or Magna/Laz I think is the only real way to do it. I do like the top turret though, but the sponsons leave something to be desired.

  12. BA players = Laugh at them trying to badly copy a design:P it's an awfull awfull tank. pretty, but awfull

  13. Not that I'd want them in my BA army but what is it about forgeworld and their hatred of the sons of sanguinius?

There are loads of cool marine vehicles that for some reason we're not allowed to use even through the BA operate alot closer to the codex astartes than some chapters.

It just seems weird to me.

    1. The Blood Angels don't have a great relationship with the Adeptus Mechanicus (they're all butt hurt about them now giving them the Baal Pred STC) and such. At least that's my understanding/assumption, plus the BA gene-seed is kinda screwed and the Imperium doesn't really like them!

    2. It's an odd relationship. We kept the Baal but were also the only chapter other than Chapter 666 that gets access to the prized Storm Raven, but the A.M. Flipped us the bird when we asked for Storm Talons. That's fine with us. Nothing says close air support like air dropped land raiders ;)

  14. Had the infernus been a fast vehicle, it would of been better. As it is its an awful suicide tank
