DeleteSo your next challenge JayDee, should you choose to accept it, is to like George Taki on Facebook and then to get the first comment on one of his posts. With all the fans he has this is not going to be easy.
DeleteHmmm. Ill look into it...
Deleteha ha ha...

ReplyDeletedark eldar ? don't you mean Dark Angels ?
DeleteDARK ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... sorry for DE heresy grammar error
DeleteMoannnnnb Necrons need a new codex! All these young'uns are gettin a leg up with all them fancy nancy sky fire guns! And just about every other xenos army

Paid of my limited edition the other day, FLGS wrote my name on the high tech piece of paper he got from his trade rep. None the less, still stoked for high resolution pictures, getting me really excited for this release.
ReplyDelete-Fred
Bought! Been waiting for some real chaotic fodder for a while now. Also cheers for this site Natfka, it really is most wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAaaannnnnndddddddd... ordered!
ReplyDeleteOrdered mine, nice to see it's only £65.
ReplyDeleteIt will be £49 from Wayland Games or Triplehelix. Triplehelix Wargames also give free shipping.
DeleteAnd the normal set will just be £61.50 :)
DeleteJust saw the Price here in Australia. Absolute highway robbery $180 for the box set, $110 for the figure case. With the $AUS at $1.05 $US surely it would indicate that we should be paying less than half that amount.
ReplyDeleteDitto! Still got it though, minis look super sweet especially chaos, don't play em but I think they might have to be allies with my evil sunz. 165 page colour mini rule book sounds awesome. Ehehehe, can't wait.
DeleteAre you serious? Your exchange rate sucks, your stores weren't making any money, your minimum wage is twice that of any other country (because of a terrible government policy), and shipping to and from AU is one of the biggest headaches on planet earth.
DeleteI'd charge you whiners more.
Get a brain mate, you ever think the reason why the stores don't make any money is because it's way overpriced. It's so much cheaper to buy on the net. Shipping a headache, I send and receive goods everyday with ease, maybe that's just a little too advanced for you eh? Come over to Perth and call me a whiner!
DeleteIgnore him the guy is a retard, our exchange rate sucks does it?
DeleteWe're the only "western" economy that's not down the crapper at the moment mate.
Then you should be able to pay for your models, no?
DeleteThis anon belongs in the hall of shame with the DA anon dweeb
DeleteThinks he can blabber all he likes, but really shows that he knows bugger all about the subject of said blather. @5.02 anon, you DO realize that while Australia has 6 cities on the most livable in the world list, 4 of those have a higher cost of living than either New York or London?
Or does ignorant blather just make for more fun, getting a rise out of your betters?
Stfu!
DeleteThatsvlike Saying "youre Rich you should be paying more!"
Cost of liveing has nothing to do with minis Price.
Companys in US & UK just like to Price it up abroad more than the other Way Around. American Car is priced up Way more in Germany than other Way Around. Thats becaus youre companys are to stupid to Set Establishment themselves on a market. Same for GW in Aus. The only reason GW is cheaper in UK is caus the market is more establisched & they want the Customer to Pay for that elswere in the World by priceing ist up. Wich is Ofc Counter productiv. Youre Not setting a Foot in a market if you Price retardedly High!
Zing!
DeleteDoes Anyone else's autoCorect turn tHem into a dribbling idioT?
DeleteLoving the Hellbrute even more now (despite the overly cheesy name) and it seems Cultist squad leaders are called Sect(s)from the descriptions on the page!
ReplyDelete65 GBP is still only $98 AUS. Getting quite annoyed at the (insert relevant expletive here) tax that we have to pay down under just for having great weather and a hobby we love. Now tell me it is not just about the money. Surely there are more GW hobbyists in Australia than there are in alot of EU
ReplyDeleteWe could buy em and then send em your way :)
DeleteYou're also esponentially further away from games workshop's manufacturing facilities.
DeleteSorry to be blunt...
Exponentially...
DeleteDamn FireFox spell-check not recognizing the input field
Surely it does not cost GW $90AU to send each box
DeleteThere's a service that gives you a uk and us shipping address so you can buy stuff at the cheaper rate and then get it shipped to you. I'll find out what it is, my bro and old man use it for electronics and Lego mindstorm. Completely legal too. Think they get stuff up to 50% of the price here in oz.
DeleteGW produces a Great Deal in China!!!
DeleteThats quit close
Exchange Rates are just a Marketing Lie... Only Makes Penny diffrence to product.
And higher Wages LOL the few GW employes in Aus. Dont effect the Price that much
200% increas Without outrages taxes in Aus. Is just corpert greed!
It's not the employees wages that he's talking about. Because the minimum wage is so high everything is inflated to match it.
DeleteThats a bullshit excuse mate, doesn't work like that and digital distribution proves it.
Deletethe only stuff that comes from china are dice, measure tapes, templates etc.
Deleteall the miniatures come from either the US or UK.
and GW wont change that.
they cant afford to have any of their technical knowledge stolen by someone. thats also why you cant access those areas anymore when going to nottingham ;)
Thats maybe the Case if in USA
DeleteOn side of my boxes in Germany it says made in China & i BRT in Aus too!
Also the Exchange Rate excuse is BS
Its Not like its 2-1
Infact its Less so ist should be cheaper
$113 with Tax round here, place an order for 2. Goddamn, the stuff looks even better now some how.
ReplyDeleteWell, I was going to trade the Chaos bits with a friend for his DA models but, now I've seen them properly, they're mine...ALL MINE!! I don't need one new army, nevermind two, but there's no way I can part with those beauties!
ReplyDeleteOrdered and counting down the days to next Saturday... :D

Still feeling the Chaplain was a weird choice. I'd have been down for a Chaos Sorceror, to compliment the Libarian. :x
ReplyDeleteChaos have been getting a lot of stuff recent plus with CSM 99% being the next codex am sure GW felt it right to give DA this lil treat.
DeleteI think she meant that forces list is unbalanced, DA have upper hand. Chaos Sorcerer could fill in the balance gap precisely, I totally agree with Christine. I dreamed about alternative 6thSS with bonus for Chaos, but have what we got from GW.
DeleteIt doesn't help that, imo, there are *plenty* of wonderful Chaplain models already out there. The Chaos Scorceror models are old, a little dated and a nowhere near as numerous.
DeleteIn fact, I count 9 (nine!!!) Chaplains available to Dark Angels, covering pretty much the whole range of weapon loadouts. Theres 3 Scorcerors, the age of which is really showing.
Actually 4 if you count the One in the 1ksons Box. And ahriman Could also be counted.
DeleteOfc They will redo them but i wouldnt expect much.
Yeah, but they're kinda chapter specific. A bummer if you're a Slaanesh, Nurgle or non-Thousand Sons player, really. :P
DeleteDoes anyone know if the not limited edition one will be the same price?
ReplyDelete$99 US what i heard.
DeleteProb yes... So dont wait!!! :D Order NOW!!!! Once in a live Time Chance!!!! Will Never be available again for the Rest of for Ever!!!! :D These Minus Look so Good they make youre eyeballs happy! ;D BUY today, becaus tomorrow is Not today! ;D
DeleteThanks Mark...
Deletemaelstrom games have it down as being £61.50
DeleteWhere's Porky Poster now? Surely he's going to tell us that these renditions of Chaos are "nothing new" or "still just marines with spikes." The best one was, "GW has had this technology for years, so we shouldn't be excited and/or give them our money."
ReplyDeleteHe was campaigning like a damn liberal trying to get us to believe rubbish and prevent us from buying the boxed set at all costs. He had a voice people enjoyed when GW was practicing poorly, but they've been rock-solid the last 12 months; especially so with 40k 6th.
Zup...
DeleteHehe. That was me.
DeleteOh my gosh has anyone else notice the $20 for the novel? I know damn well the book is just a little over 150 pages.
ReplyDeleteIt is up on ebay already. And the bits too
ReplyDeleteExpress shipped from US for $125AU which is about what it should be here (or a bit less for bulk shipping)
So...here's something odd:
ReplyDeleteDA heroes in the box set. Has anyone noticed they are equipped nearly exactly as Azrael, Asmodai and Ezekial?
Okay: power sword, big book, and bionic eye is obvious, so nuff said there.
BUT--the basic captain comes with a winged helm, power sword, AND combi-plasma bolter? Wha?! (and he's actually wearing the helm! Double Wha?!)
Oh, and presumably the artwork that inspired the 4th edition codex cover is Asmodai, and wouldn't you know it? Plasma pistol and two pointy daggers right at his crotch...
Weird...dare I imagine that Games Workshop is offering us three completely substitutable plastic heroes from a BOXED set for our three main special characters (assuming Asmodai will be making a comeback, of course)? And if so...does that mean we shouldn't expect new sculpts for said IC's? Is this out of kindness for those of us who are poor, or is GW cutting corners? (or, third option: with new codex, those special characters will be equipped with completely new items, thereby making these boxed set ones obsolete...)
Asmodai had pSword and cruxarc. & a ironguard mask & NO Plas.p.
DeleteI think youre over thinking it.
Ofc you can Proxi but you can also get the Models on eBay cheap.
As soon as I did the 360 view and saw that combi-plasma tucked in the captains robe, I thought Azrael?!
Delete*o*
Normally I'm not a stickler for the details but as a veteran Dark Angels player and fan I'm going to indulge myself.
DeleteThe DV Librarian only has a passing resemblence to Ezekiel. He has no representation of 'Deliverer' and his bionics are on his right socket, whereas Ezekiel lost his left eye.
I get the whole price discussion, but hot damn look at those minis!
ReplyDeleteThe Chosen with the Power Maul has tentacles sprouting from his back that are *Reloading his Bolter* That's just awesome.
It'll take an amazing mini for me to rethink making him my Dark Apostle.
~Muninn
I'm splitting two boxes with a friend so I already know how I'm converting my interrogator chaplain into a dark apostle. The amount of fine filing and green stuff is scary but that chaplain has alot of modding potential
DeleteHa! I was also planning on using the chaplain as a Dark Apostle for all the nice fallen angels in the box xD
DeleteI'm going to say it as I see it on the models front:
ReplyDeleteApart from the Chosen and the Dark Angel's Librarian and Captain, which are amazing. The rest of the models (with the possible exclusions of the Ravenwing dudes and the bizarre Chaos Lord model who can't even lift his own power sword) are all quite poor and sadly are just a disappointemt to me.
The terminators and tac squad especially look rather ropey and not fully realised. The Helbeast has one of the most poorly realised gun arms I have ever seen on a model of it's size - it looks like a chode hand not a cannon.
The cultist I dislike also, as the only good ones are totally borrowed from the excellent forgeworld cultists, the others and the leader especially look stupid and represent very little imagination on behalf of the model designers.
I am still loving 6th edition, I hated 5th and I love 90% of the new 40k models GW produce - I just know sh*te when I see it.
Surely if the Dark Angel Captain can lift his sword (plus basically every grey knight) they the Chaos Lord could lift his, he's just having a rest to burn some faces with lovely blobs of plasma!
DeleteNo, no, no. DA cap is not lifting his sword, he's erecting it! Only that could make a difference on the battlefield, lol.
DeleteAnon 7:51 PM is dull whiner, though he's just translating some frustration by set models which has everyone of us, it may waries, but still exists, I believe. There are as many opinions as people live.
I for one am excited for this starter set. My wife who doesn't play even likes the dark angels figs so maybe I can get her to play too. Happy times
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated on that XD
DeleteJust ordered mine. These look amazing the only thing I hate about the mins u get with the sets it's they are almost completely assembled witch makes painting harder. Because I like to paint my mins with arms and sholder pads off. But the pure sex appeal of these models is making up for it now to go get my sleeping bag and snaks and go sleep out at the post office for my delivery lol
ReplyDeleteOrdered mine. Really looking forward to the models. Only complaint is the new take on the DA chapter logo. It's too simple and bulky for my tastes.
ReplyDeleteModels look ace, regret offering to swap the chaos with a buddy, might pick up a set off eBay in the new year and start a world eaters army tho
ReplyDeleteAs many of you, my fellows, I'm glad to share that I've ordered my copy of starter set too. Can't decide what to do with DA force yet, another turmoil I have is around which Chaos warband of mine (I have Slaaneshi devoted host and few units of Thousand Sons) will have this incredible reinforcement.
ReplyDeleteLet me start a kind of poll here:
How do think, which traitor legion could these CSMs belong too?
They definitely look like Tzinch Chosen for me, though some Chaos Undivided icons make them very suitable for Word Bearers host. Just my 2c.
Thousand Sons
DeleteDon't care that The Legion doesn't usually go in for the mutated, or the daemonic. But sod it, them chosen gonna fit right on in with my 6k pts of Iron Warriors.
DeleteEsp the Hellbrute :-)
Iron within, iron without
I've read many books where Tzeentch servants themselves become mutated. He does tempt with offers of power and foresight. I think thousand sons cultists would be entirely appropriate. As sacrifices or even thralls for the sorcerers.
DeleteJust ordered mine and using the Chaos as allied for my necrons - anyone know of any fluff that would suggest what CSM would be good?
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone else not order this thing now? I keep getting 500 errors over the past 2 hours :( :(
ReplyDeleteIm going to use the Cultists (then hopefully get moar)to act as my Necron Machine Cult. Read Dead Man Walking. It has a bit of this idea actually.
ReplyDeleteoops. Ment to reply to Chance.
DeleteThanks JayDee
DeleteGreat looking set
ReplyDeleteI can't get past the price of this box-set in Australia - It is a joke!
ReplyDeleteAOBR was $95 on release and now Dark Vengeance is $180. A slight increase in price is justified, but there is no justification for that much of a price increase other than greed.
As an Australian I don't expect any sympathy, but don't think I don't have a right to complain, you would if the shoe was on the other foot.
