I had been looking for a pic of the battleforce, so this morning I woke up determined to find it. Here it is, along with a listing of the contents.

20 Warriors,
5 Immortals/Deathmarks,
1 Ghost/Doomsday Ark
5 Scarab bases

65 pounds, I do not know the US or AU conversion rates

13 Comments:

  1. £65 for the Battleforce.

£72 for the individual box sets.
A box of warriors is only 12 Warriors and 3 Scarab Bases though.

Save £7 and gain 8 extra Warriors and 2 extra Scarab bases.

YEY! That's why I like to wait for the Battleforce. Now where's that promised 2nd wave? March?

  2. Damn that's a really sweet Battleforce box! Buy an Overlord and your new Necron player has enough of a force to start playing right out of the box. It's a shame I already have all of the warriors and scarabs I need >.<

  3. 65 pounds is just over 100 dollars, I check www.forexpros.com/currencies/gbp-usd for exchange rates.

    1. Knowledge of the exchange rate is useless for GW stuff though (at least for Canada and Australia). The Canadian dollar is at par with the American one and we still pay 25%-80% more for our plastic crack.

The Canadian price will be $130, judging from the fact that GW still thinks it's 2:1 GBP:CDN rather than it being closer to 1.6GBP:CDN. I expect the American one to be around $100-$105 based on past experiences.

    2. Generally GW products sell in Australia at $2 for each GBP, so we'll be looking at ~$130. It's all about what the market is willing to pay, not just the exchange rate.

Prices didn't move down at all when the aussie dollar moved from 49 US cents to 105 S cents. Ordering online by AU/NZ customers from EU countries has been blocked by GW too.

The battleforce looks great! My sons will love it.

  4. A worthwhile deal if purchased through a 3rd party retailer that passes the savings on to you, at 20% off it is $85, so you could get a pretty beefy army for just over 500 bucks (120 warriors, 30 immortals, 30 scarabs and 6 ghost arks for $510). If you use those immortals to model crypteks and buy 5 command barges (27 dollars each after discount, so 135, and you could use 3 of the lords as crypteks and save all 30 immortals in case you want to run immortal spam later once the night scythe model is out) and you have 2 HQ's, 6 troops in transports, cryptek upgrades for at least 3 squads, more if you convert immortals, maxed out scarabs if you wanted to choose to run them, and 3 heavy support choices.

$645 for a pretty beefed up army that only needs some magnetizing and bits to be made super flexible isn't the worst thing ever.

    1. Note the 3 remaining barges are run as annihilation barges XD

    2. Exactly! Couldn't agree more!

£52 for the Necron Battleforce at Wayland games.

      :))

  5. Wow. Looks nice. Pity I already have over 100 warriors because otherwise that would be pretty tempting, especially since I want some arks and immortals anyway.

  6. But necron warriors are useless. I havent tried ghost ark yet. Only good things are Immortals and Scarabs.

    1. You crazy, min sized squads with dual eldritch crypteks in a ghost ark are boss, its basically like having 2 heavy weapons in a 5 man squad in an AV 13 open topped vehicle.

Scarabs are overrated, the good lists will spread out their threat instead of concentrating it into easily torrented blobs of scarabs

    2. oo, they are pretty good now.
run a 2x5 (with joined crypteks) + 2 arks as a mobile regen base, and 20 warriors with a phaeron(and maybe a joined lord or cryptek in there as well) between them.
That's 2 of the mentioned firebases and 20 relentless warriors, that have 4+(armor/cover) 4+(orb) and because of the 2 arks 2D3 warriors are regenerated each turn if needed.

really hard to shift and do decent enough of damage.

  7. Lol, warriors with a res lord are damn nice, far from useless.
And with a Ghost Ark, you can repair up to three warriors a turn.
