Eldar Flyers and the large Wraithguard Construct are the biggest rumors and news right now for upcoming Eldar, although anything solid on them is vague and fleeting.

Here is the latest on both. including a Silhouette of the new flyers drawn by Best_Pone, and a few comments.

Please remember that these are rumors.

Please keep the crude comments to a minimum. We all see it already.

The pods on the wings of my drawing are the engines by the way, and yes, this fighter doesn't have a forked nose. Overall, the length of the Hemyock is a little longer than the Wave Serpant chassis, and the cockpit is located in the nose of this particular design.

Oh, and I think you're all expecting the obligatory mega-walker. From the glance I got, it looks like a wraithlord scaled up to twice the height I guess.

  1. I am thinking the new Eldar codex with the new units will make a great ally to my armies I already have. Only problem is an Ally army grows all by its self into a full army on its own. I love the way some of the units already work and I am hoping the deny the witch roll will be helped by an HQ Eldar of some sort.

I'm quite certain that was GW's plan all along.

    2. That's literally how I got started with Dark Eldar.

"Oooh, Dark Eldar are interesting as allies!"

4000 points of Dark Eldar later.

      "WHERE WILL THE MADNESS END?!"

    3. Looks like the female eldar players would be excited to get their hands on this *snicker*

    5. Ha that's how my Daemons started, as allies that is. Now a few Soul Grinders later...

    6. Started Nids to ally with my Orks in apocalypse 5th edition. 15k Pts later 6th edition comes out and the Nids are my new army of choice for the 1850-2000 pt bracket. NOTHING is as rad as an Ork apocalypse army. GW says: "hey check these guys out; awesome ally for your orks." I say: " here is x thousand dollars." GW says: " We decided those guys can't ally anymore." I bought into the allies trick already, hook, line, and sinker. Though the thought of a Tau detachment to give my Orks a bit more dakka is a constant temptation, I know from experience that purchasing even a squad of fire warriors will most likely spiral into another x thousand dollar adventure.

    3. The outline immediately reminded me of Romulan Warbird designs from several of the Star Trek incarnations (i.e., ships used by another group of pointy-eared aliens).

I understood the reason for Naftka's "crude comments" statement afterward.

      Anyway. Ahem. Slaanesh is bad.

    2. I guess the fact I had been staring at an excel spreasheet for an hour before shuffling to Faeit helped with that

    3. I thought the Eldar were escaping Slannesh, not inviting him/her in with a huge... Smile.

    4. Well, the Eldar creating Slaanesh was no accident. Certainly not after seeing this!

  5. Hopefully that flyer silhouette isn't a literal representation of what they've done to the Eldar rules...

  6. Which way up is it? Is it similar to the Tau flyers with wings at the front, or is the cockpit (no pun intended) at the, er, tip?

    ReplyDelete
  7. It'd look very much like the phoenix if it had the pronged nose. It'd fit the aesthetics for the whole Eldar vehicle range, from vyper to cobra.

  8. It looks like it's going to be a hard flier to shoot down.

Do you think it will have rapid fire, blast, or template weapons?

It looks like it's great at shooting armor in the rear.

  20. Meanwhile during a battle on the imperial cruiser Emperors Purity:
"Sir, the eldar craft is shooting a kind of white lance weapon from its tip"
"Worry not cadet, its not strong enough to penetrate our rear shields, we only have to fear a ramming attack"

  21. I guess out of all the new eldar release rumors - I'm the least excited about a flyer since ELDAR ALREADY HAVE AWESOME FLYERS.

I honestly wish they'd just skip the flyers, and give us more aspects, new PL models, update the Vyper and Falcon chassis, new jetbikes...

Any flyer that the Eldar get is going to be really crappy compared to the nightwing and phoenix which are the two best flyers in the game already.

    1. Yeah, but $105, plus shipping here to America is pretty fricken prohibitive. I don't have $350 to spend on my air support.

    2. So buy one at a time?

Its not like you need to buy three right at once.

They aren't going anywhere. They aren't perishable fruits :P

  22. It looks ridiculous. If it really looks like this I'm going to use a vyper cockpit instead of this one.

  23. BTW this is just a silhouette of the old BFG Hemlock fighter.

Nothing new to see here, move along.

  24. Allegedly Eldar have always been a "girly army"...
I guess they are trying to get even more of them into the hobby... :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Supposedly, the name of the bomber is the "Moonsiren", so I expect the wings to make a good canvas for any sort of moon murals. The silhouette gives me reason to believe that it will.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hope it doesn't giz all over enemy units. Naftka been tea bagged.

But more seriously, couldn't they just adapt the Nightwing or something? It would result in less, well... O_O

  39. Can you have vibrocannons on that flyer?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hemyock is probably a typo for hemlock

    ReplyDelete
  41. Does the flyer come in a non circumcised version?

    ReplyDelete
  42. There might be a transport version, for tactical insertions.
